Zamaldelica

Try a little misting usually helps out those seeds that do that make sure you have proper humidity also imo,as the thin paper like layerunder the actually seed husk can tighten up and not fully come off.

Cheers mate, I have kept humidity sweet and have 4 other strains under same conditions that all shed their jackets quicker than a stripper on fire, but your right about the layerunder or placenta as I call it, drying up and tightening i will focus some spray thanks

I ordered some Zamaldelicia seeds from Seedsman (Ace was having CC payment issues) and was wondering about this leaf structure & size. None of the images I've found of Zamaldelica seem to have leaves this wide or is this just a young plant characteristic? I'm a new grower and this is my first Sativa. Thanks!

So no breeder pack I take it? Did you get fem's or reg's and when did you order them? Both my Zamaldelica's were pretty homogeneous in terms of size and structure with thin leaves (up to 11-blades) and exaggerated serrations. You can see my pics in post #752.

Maybe you got a Malawi leaved pheno? But more than likely some kind of mix up. Zamal x Hashplant maybe?

They were factory sealed as far as I could tell when I received them.

Hey MD, My Zamaldelica fem had very large serrated leaves like that, only a little more narrower. As spacebro said may have a little more Malawi influence . If you see some pics of Malawi you will see what he means. Great plants.!!

Amazing Zamaldelica pheno

Amazing Zamaldelica pheno

Greetings all. Very nice looking ZD's friends, hope they smoke as good as mine does. Definitely glad I decided to go ahead and do some Zamals. It is a very beautiful plant. Smells of strong carrots and mango with a heavy hazy background to her at the same time. It truly is a gorgeous plant. Effects such as my 24 week Oldtimer's Haze that has the trippy effect (not quite as trippy) but very uplifting, happy and joyful also. Out of all of the Ace strains and Sativas I have done this would be my second favorite next to the OTH. I will take my Zamal clones any day because they only take 11 weeks with 11/13. That's 13 weeks earlier then the OTH so you can see my point .

Insane pops to Dubi and the crew for this beautiful line. Can't wait to run some of the trippier Zamals for side by side testing. :thank you:

Very nice pheno:peacock:
I have to admit I did not grow Zamaldelica myself, but I received some beans from La reunion itself. However that's probably going to be one hell of a selection.
Before that I will do a run of Zamaldelica x Bangie Haze which should be pretty tame compared to the pure Zamal genetics.
keep on growing and sorry for my talk. I always get carried away when talking about selections.

I grew out half a pack of the original release Zamaldelica which was more unstable and wild than the more worked later generations so keep that in mind. It has certainly been a unique and interesting strain. I ended up with two different female clones I have since flowered, two that were culled due to license restrictions and one full on hermie that initially presented as male which was no big deal.

I originally only flowered one of the plants which was the nicest looking female to show sex in under 5 weeks in part due to it's shorter internode distances. It was a very narrow leaf plant with medium large heavily serrated leaves with many fingers. It had a citrus, carrot, woody incense sort of aroma and finished at about 14 1/2 weeks. Like all of it's siblings it grew vigorously. It ended up with above average yield and had an a very electric, rushing upbeat affect, slightly trippy with a strong euphoric rush. The buzz had a slightly unpleasant paralyzing stuck sort of feel if I took way too much and produced a lot of head pressure. The closest thing it reminded me of effects-wise was a slightly more trippy, colorful and "dirty" version of destroyer. The brownies were a strait up heart pounding, cold sweats, hold on to your seat kind of ride. They scared the crap out of medical user friend of mine that ate a whole one and I must say I had about 2 hours of paranoid depersonalization during the peak of my own full brownie adventure. There were also some notable visual distortions that came with those infamous brownies. I remember dying for something to drink and having to stagger down the hall holding onto the wall due to vertigo The bud structure on this one was a rats nest and all in all other than the effect the plant was not stand out. It was kind of like a scraggly Destroyer.

The second pheno was special. I didn't flower for well over a year after taking the clone because the plant took almost two months to show sex from seed and had wider internode spacing. I had a gut feeling that it would be crazy long flowering and just didn't have the time for it. Anyway I kept this clone because it was just so insanely vigorous growing and hardy plus it just had a unique look about it. I seriously neglected that clone and yet no matter how aggressively I hacked it down to size or forgot to re-pot it etc. it just kept thriving. Eventually I got the long flowering sativa itch again and decided to give it it's turn under the artificial sun.

This pheno grew like a triffid on steroids, branching and stretching everywhere. It overtook half the grow space and despite being topped over and over again it went strait for the lights and up into the ceiling. It was ridiculous. At week 9 when I was taking down my Holy Princess and Panama x Sin Diesel clone this thing was still stretching and barely starting to properly bud. It's the fastest and most vigorous growing plant I have ever come across. Anyway, to make a long story short this headache of a plant went on to hold up my room for a bit over 18 weeks. It has a very airy but superior bud structure to the first zamaldelica and a very large yield. The bud basically looks like big fluffy pomp poms of trich covered foxtails. It is the strangest smelling cannabis I have come across. Everyone who has smelled it remarks on just how indescribably weird the strong aroma is. While trimming it smelt of freshly crushed green onions, garlic, horse radish, with a bit of ginger and carrots in the background.

The effect on this one is stronger, trippier and dreamier than the first pheno which was a potent plant. The rushing head high will cut strait through anything else you have smoked that night. The initial rush tends to come on in waves that make everything go side ways as they crest. It's a little like the feeling that one gets while first coming up on mescaline. The unpleasant head-achy pressure that sometimes came with smoking the first pheno is absent in this one which is nice, and it has a much more positive vibe. This phenotype also lacked the paralyzing stuck feeling the earlier pheno sometimes produced. The mind tends to really wander off into side tracks and daydreams with this stuff and on several occasions I found myself laughing hysterically at something bizarre I had done or thought. This is the closest I have ever had cannabis come to being actually psychedelic. It has some of the same creativity inducing and depression lifting effects small doses of psychedelics tend to have. It's probably the best strain I have ever come across for cutting through depressive funk, but if you take more than a few puffs it's not conducive to being very productive. It is very strong.

Weirdly enough when smoked the taste is different than the smell. It tastes woody with a sour unripe grapefruit sort of tartness. The weird green onion, radish spicy funk is sort of in the background but doesn't dominate the flavor the way you think it would. There is a lingering sweet carrot sorta flavor that lingers afterwards. It will be interesting to try this after a proper cure, but it is already one of my all time favorites as for as effect goes. Growing it indoors with limited space was a complete damn nightmare but she turned out so interestingly I can't help but forgive her.

I would like to thank Dubi for bringing such an unusual strain to the market. This is really the sort of thing we need in the medical cannabis community, more unique strains with a wide array of effects to choose from rather than just a heap of similiar poly hybrid strains that were mostly bred from the start to be recreational and commercial successes. In this state I live in, you simply cannot find pure sativas in the dispensaries. If you are looking for a clear headed, functional almost stimulant style pure sativa they just don't exist here.

Zamaldelica

Clone from original seed grown Fem.One of the best smelling cannabis strains I've ever grown. She is at 14 weeks , pulled her out of grow room , into the hot Aussie summer sun for a few days . Let her drink up all fluid in pot, then dark for a couple until chop .

Beautiful tasting/smell and high. 6 month cure really does her justice. Yummie! Rolled this eighth up into a blunt and share with my family on new years. We were all flying high at mid night even after smoking heavy Indica all day. Thanks again to Dubi and the Crew. Working with PH x M and Panama Haze atm, can't wait!

Remember my mango Zamaldelica x (Purple Thai x Skunk x White Widow) from a month ago?
picture.php

I was running out of room in flower, so in an effort to slow down veg I screened it and aggressively chopped it back. It rewarded me with total stagnation and a generally unhappy appearance (purple stems, dead leaves, nutrient deficiencies galore). No pics, I'm a little ashamed of how bad it looks right now.

Today, I pulled it out of its bucket to find a 3.5 gallon brick of roots. This makes the Zamaldelica the first plant I've run to overgrow the buckets, despite its relatively "small" thumb-sized stem. Lesson learned - it's a Zamal, I should have known better.

I built myself a 5 gallon version of my 3.5 gallon buckets specially for the Zamaldelica cross. The additional 3-4 inches of root space should allow for some amount of recovery and another week or two of growth before its bound up again. Soooo... as soon as the plant starts to throw healthy leaves its going straight into flower.
