my MCGB multi chamber grow box

I thought you guys would like to see this one.
My MCGB is 2 cabinets that lock together to form one big 4 cabinet grow box that is 60"W x 48"H x 26"D. The left side is 28"W x 48"H x 26"D. It is divided into 3 chambers. The bottom is the midsize CHAMBER C and is 28"W x 30"H x 26"D. I have a New Wave 24" eight tube T-5 light to hang in this chamber. The light provides 57.1w/sq ft and 5952 lumens/sq ft. On top of that chamber is 2 chambers A and B. They are both 14"W x 18"H x 26" deep. Chamber A will have a New Wave 4 tube T-5 light. This chamber will provide 53.93w/sq ft and 5618 lumens/sq ft. Chamber B will have the ballast, fan control, main power box and the DIY combination muffler and carbon scrubber.
The right side cabinet is the main flower Chamber D. It is 32"W x 48"H x 26"D. It has a 240 cfm Panasonic fan, 270w cool tube, two 105w CFLs and a Mega Ray EB 60w remote ballast UVB reptile light. It has a 38"H x 30"W x 26"D actual grow space. Not counting the UVB light this chamber will provide 82.9w/sq ft and 7340 lumens/sq ft.
I will be able to clone/veg/flower in each chamber if I wanted. I could fool around with scrog in the t-5 chambers or use the small one for clones/moms and the bigger t-5 for a great veg or a real nice scrog. The big flower box can be couple 36" trees, 6 or so bushes or 20 single cola sog plants. This combination gives me a lot of flexibility to do whatever and play around.
Cabinets A, B, C and D all form one air path when the 2 cabinets are locked together and the doors are closed. Air conditioned air comes in through an 8" and 4" darkroom vent and is mixed by a small fan. There is then another 8" and 4" darkroom vent into the big t-5 cab and is moved by a fan and from there it goes through another 8" and 4" darkroom vent into the big flower chamber where it is mixed by a fan and sucked through the 6" cooltube through the fan and out the 6" to 8" carbon scrubber/muffler.
The Panasonic Fan is quiet, real, real quiet and sucks and and works perfectly with this set-up. The darkroom vents save a bunch of space over PVC light traps and look real slick. I have taken it apart and put it together several times. I have done several dry runs and temps can be kept at ambient room temp with fan on high.
I wanted this box to be able to be taken apart so it is easy to move. Otherwise even all stripped out it would weigh a ton and be a beast to move at 48" x 60".
In the picture that the chambers are labeled A, B, C and D notice the reflected light in chamber B. That is coming through the carbon scrubber hole and is from a shop light in the garage ceiling. Look how much that reflects and how bright it is. I have 2 coats of wood sealer and 3 coats of Benjamen Moore Super White flat latex paint. I tested (compared Benjamen Moore (the highest rated paint) with Behr and Ben really was much better. Thicker, creamier, coated better, much more white and much more reflective IMHO and side by side painted surface comparison. It was also much more expensive at $40 a gallon or $12 a quart.

That is a very nice setup Tarzan, I've been looking at that exact fan for my box.. is it really that quite?
dam tarazn now thats a grow box wish i had the computer ttime to keep up with every thing but my time is very limted but i did go to the county heatlh dept and looks like i am still shit out of luck cuz i made to much money last year.either way i go i have to pay or dont get any help but if i kill some one and go to prison they will help me. what the hell is wroung with this country i swear if it was not for my mom being sick with canser i would pack my bags and leave this county i no longer have faite in ower own groverment after 30 years of hard labor i am now being slaped in the face for working hard all my life. but any ways anought of my whining i am still smoke free till i find out whats is wroung with me and if its nouting bad i will stay this way till i find a job and hopefully then i can go back to enjoying a toke and i hope i can go back home where i can have more computer time so i can keep up with thses forurms. other than that keep up the good work and peace

Yes Lizzard King the Panasonic fan is quiet. You can't hear the fan running at all. You can only hear sound from the moving air. Normal talking is 60 db. Whispering is 20 db. The fan is rated at 1.2 sones which is about 30 db. It is quiet. Look at all the fans and compare. Every other fan that has a 240 cfm rating needs 1800 RPM to achieve that. The Panasonic only needs 1290 RPMs. RPMs are noise. The more the louder. It also has a lot more torque and can move air against some resistence and dead still air.

Tarzan - That's a cool box. Great work there. Glad to see you planned it out unlike some of the rest of us lol. Did you come up with the design on your own based upon your equipment or what inspired it?

It was the NGB thread and the 150w club thread that really got me wanting a grow box. I wanted to use t-5 (the 2 foot long ones) so I knew I needed the box at least 26" deep to accommodate them.
I combined things I saw other people doing and designed my box. I then bought all the equipment and material to make the box. And then I made the smartest decision and had a master carpenter help me build the thing. It has piano hinges, dado? joints (they overlap so very strong and light can't get through).
I planned and designed and planned again and redesigned. Read what others were doing that they liked and what they were having problems with.
If it wasn't for the many grow web sites I wouldn't have anything. I never coulda even thought of it.
I am real happy with it and very excited to start using it.

Here are a few more pics when I was dry fitting all the hardware together. The cool tube fits nice I just have to play with the final height and wing reflectors position. The two t-5 light units fit perfect and look real good. I am real pleased with the overall look of the cab.

85 mill grams of asprin and hydroxyz pam 25 mg for my nerves but i am scared to take the last ones not sure if i got a lung infection and a stomic bug going at once or not kind of make me mad i spent 2 days in the hospital and they didnt tell me what was wrong with me , but it is good to be back home and back on icmag but i cant make any promises but as of now i feel strong and have been cleaning up around the house and relaxing some just wish i could some some but i need to stay off till i find out where i stand and if there nouting wrong with me i will still stay sober til i can find a job so i can pay the hospital bill off but til then i have doctors not to be working til i go back to se him next week.

I mainly just picked up all the lumber, and hardware...I already had the fan.
The small res. and pump is for my cloner, I didnt locate the right size res. for my flower area....but I have some time for that. flower area will be 2' X 2' in this cab w/ 3 feet height...all the possible res. that size were too tall, so I'll keep my eyes out for a shallow one.
I already have several HPS lights (i'm probably gonna go w/ (2) 150s, or 1 250)...with cool tubes, and I have the floros for the veg/mom area already too.
I have most of the PVC and elbows too...just not in the pic cuz they are in the shed which is not accessable right now due to a TON of snow.
I have caulk, and liquid nails for sealing it all up, and paint and stain for the finishing touches.
I still need to build my carbon scrubber too, so that will be towards the time the cab is finished.
I'll probably start a thread on the construction in the "design and equipment" forum since its not really a "grow show" just yet. ...and I'll need some of your input along the way, I just thought I'd show you guys whats goin on over here first.
again ....I'm not in a hurry, since I have a couple of bigger cabs already running, and a harvest due in the next week or two (check my grow diaries below for good pics of that action)
I've always wanted one of these cabs, and I'm sort of doing this now "before I need to" so that when I move again I'll have it all set up and tweaked, and wont have to rely on my big cabinets anymore.
I value all your input guys...so I hope you'll come by and help me w/ the specifics. (I'll post a link to the thread over here when I make it)

well dp i was doing good just had 4 chest pains again but i still feel ok seems to him me in wavs mostly when i am sitting, kind of like 3 to 4 thumps or a sharp stabbing pain lol i am still living in a nitemare ohhhhhhh lost all my hyrdotomaote i was not home to tend to them glad i was not in the middle of a mj grow or they all be dead now.
