Ok, the one male got killed this morning in a most brutal fashion. So I guess I'm 2 for 4 so far, with the third one still waiting to show their sex. Like I said in the first post of this journal, two is all I was looking for, so I'm already satisfied, regardless of what the third plant turns out to be. I'm going to be moving the two females into larger pots very soon, I just have to go and pick up a little more soil first.

DAY 12 - 12/12

Here's a small update. The sex of the 'unknown' plant is not so unknown anymore, it turned out to be a male, so I disposed of that one also. The two remaining females got transplanted into larger pots, and I'm just patiently waiting around and hoping to see some small buds start to form on the plants soon. Also, needless to say, the leaves on the two plants are as green as can be, even though it might look otherwise on this picture. It's easy to see from that color corrected photo that the light footprint from the 150 HPS doesn't cover 100% of both plants, but that's ok, because I prefer to have it closer.

DAY 15 - 12/12

As far as I'm concerned, now is when the fun part of the grow begins, just watching the buds hopefully get bigger and fatter for each passing day.

Lookin good man, I'm interested to see how our northern lights compare. I'm only 2 weeks ahead so it should be interesting.

Thanks ! I just saw your thread now, and all I can say is, holy cow ! That's one hell of a setup you have there ! It looks like an entire forest of Northern Lights in there ! Very impressive. I'm afraid that I probably won't be able to keep up with the humongous sized buds that you'll probably end up with, but I'll do my best !

Thanks ! Yeah, the flowering stage is so much more fun than vegging, because you can finally see what you're going to be ending up with and smoking soon !

Grow is looking real nice, greenhead. I personally like the vegging stage. They just seem more vulnerable then. Maybe I just like beginnings but not endings. lol Anyways, you got a green thumb, my friend. Nice work.

Thanks alot ! Wow, that is so strange that you prefer vegging over flowering, maybe I'll feel differently when I get a whole lot more grows under my belt, and it'll become more routine for me. Just thinking about the buds that I'm eventually going to end up with gets me excited, lol.

Sweet grow dude, I have tuned in.
Loving your original reflector aswell, and I like all the pics you have going up.

What kind of cam are you using?

Thanks ! Regarding the camera, I wish I had a better one, because the one I'm using is about four years old, it's a Casio 4 megapixel QVR-40, which cost around $250 when it was purchased. It doesn't do good enough macros for my taste , and that's why I would like to get another camera in the future.

Have any updates? pics?

Well, today is day 19 of 12/12. There's some more white hairs popping up here and there, and I just watered the two plants today (4.5 Liters to each plant) along with a tiny bit of big bloom and some PH up. They went five days since the last feeding/watering. I'll be getting some new pix up soon, I just want there to be a noticable difference since the last pix. The buds are of course still very tiny, and I can't wait until they get larger, so that I may begin to take proper bud shots.

Nice, I use to have the same exact cam. It was great, nice and small, and blazingly fast to turn on and get shooting immediately, loved how the lense popped back in and covered the actual lense.

From that I went into the A series canon's, interesting that the casio was 4 megapixels, and i went to the canon which was 2.something. The canon was superior, most likely due to the processor quality.

but yah I'd say step into the a series, they have a lot of manual settings, a good choice before going full into the slr class.

As for the bud, i think they'll start going/growing crazy soon enough, and oh the smell/stench. lol

take care,

Wow, so you used to have the same exact camera, lol.

Yeah, I like the casio overall, and it's served me well since I purchased it, the only thing I don't like, which I already mentioned, is the macro mode on it. It just doesn't have the ability to get super close up to objects and take sharp pictures. Whichever camera I choose next is going to have to be one that takes very closeup super-macro pictures.

As for the buds, I hope you're wrong about the smell/stench, lol. I don't even have any carbon filter, and I always thought that Northern Lights is one of the lesser smelly strains. For the moment at least, 19 days into 12/12, there's not much of any smell at all. I was also lucky on my previous grow, which was my first grow with one bagseed plant, and that one was also not smelly at all, even towards the very end of flowering.
