Chat groups on the Chinese-owned app are echoing right-wing extremists and spreading “categorically false” claims that the U.S. is mobilizing troops to quell riots.



At least two dozen groups on the Chinese-owned social media app WeChat have been circulating misinformation that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is “preparing to mobilize” the National Guard and “dispatch” the military to quell impending riots, apparently in an attempt to frighten Chinese Americans into staying home on Election Day.


The misinformation, which takes the form of a photo of a flyer and is in both English and Chinese, also warns that the government plans to impose a national two-week quarantine and close all businesses. “They will announce this as soon as they have troops in place to prevent looters and rioters,” it states. The flyer originally appeared on WeChat during the first surge of the pandemic, and it later spread to other social media. It recently resurfaced on WeChat.

I watch videos of Antifa beating up a minority almost every week. Most recently in California they attacked a black Trump supporter. Antifa are political terrorists who have more similarities with fascism and authoritarianism than the people they fight.

Nobody here supports white supremacists, many lefties here do demonize and support acts of violence towards anyone with different political views.

I want to know more about those murders though. I worked in a prison for four years and I'm willing to bet most of those murders are them killing each other over power.

Let me ask this. Did he choose to look at it because he hadn't made up his mind politically, and this would help? I doubt it.


The last thing I will say on this is that I don't believe it's about child porn with him, or hopefully anyone here.

It's about creating havoc in the most disgusting ways possible.

I agree that the significance of him viewing it is probably low and thus it also represents less justification for doing so. I do suspect it was pursued out of a political agenda, but perhaps that is acceptable. I think from a political speech standpoint it certainly is. There's just so much confirmation bias. Unfortunately there is also a lot of truth to the claims of pedo creeps in positions of power. I remember the early days of pizza gate discussions for example turning up a lot of really ugly dirt, but I also remember how alt-right fascist assholes came in and totally hijacked the entire thing and turned it political. Now we'll probably never know the truth and now nobody takes it seriously(which was probably the plan all along anyway). The waters are extra muddy these days.

As for the similarities, antifa supports dictatorial power and forcible suppression of any opposition. They constantly beat up normal people including minorities for differences in political opinion.
