the combined polls averaged from 538 show harris picked up a whole percentage point during the convention.

rfk jr is dropping out and endorsing trump this week. he's selling his soul for a cabinet level position that he thinks he will get but i bet trump won't give him one if elected.

it will be interesting to see the effect on the polls as rfk's base realigns with either party or not at all.

as you can see trump's numbers are flatlining while harris's are trending upward as she picks up independents and undecided voters.

I don't think the RFK factor is as big as some make it out to be. Much of his support came from never trumpers. They're not going to vote for trump and are likely disillusioned and disgusted by the guy after the way he's been shopping both sides for a cabinet position. They're not going to vote for trump regardless of kennedy jumping on the trump train. His VP pick has been going around trying to inflate the effect they will have as if she's begging the Harris campaign to let them onboard.

Kennedy is and was irrelevant from the beginning. His voters are going to split down the middle making his endorsement meaningless.

And the polls are going to continue moving towards Harris. Lets see where they are in a week.

"liberals" chanting USA for a bigger military budget and more cops lol blue maga in full effect.

One thing they did was take the patriot mantle away from the magas. And they also took the law and order from the magas. Harris is a former prosecutor that the maga were accusing of locking up black people in their failed attempt to grab more of the black vote. That's backfired. They have a convicted felon for a candidate and the Democrats have someone that by their own admission was tough on crime.

trump falsely saying that crime is out of control while it's actually been going down is a failed argument when you're opponent is the former top cop of the most populous state in the nation. Those suburban housewives trump was trying to target are going to pick Harris over trump all day long. His messaging is so bad. Only a convicted felon like trump is dumb enough to think that when it comes to crime he has more credibility than a woman who made a career out of putting criminals in jail.

The way they brought in Kinzinger for that prime time speaking spot to dispel the myth that only maga are patriotic was brilliant. I knew that guy was bringing the juice and he didn't disappoint. He was speaking directly to Republicans that despise trump and I think he brought many over that are going to vote for Harris if only to finally rid their party of trump.

You can see the Obama strategy from 2008 playing out again in 2024. Harris didn't make the same mistake Clinton did when she refused any help from the Obama machine. Harris gladly tapped into that machine and it shows in the way her campaign is being ran. It's speeding like a Bugatti while the trump team is an old beat up wreck on the side of the road with a flat tire.

“I want to let my fellow Republicans in on the secret—the Democrats are as patriotic as us,” Kinzinger said to an arena full of Democrats. Standing up for the Constitution and democracy is the soul of being a conservative, he said, but “the Republican Party is no longer conservative” and instead has switched its alliance to Trump “whose only purpose is himself.” That’s why Kinzinger urged Republicans to vote for “our bedrock values—vote for Kamala Harris.”

“If you vote for Kamala Harris in 2024, you’re not a Democrat, you’re a patriot,” said Geoff Duncan, a former Republican lieutenant governor of Georgia, on Wednesday, prompting the Democratic delegates on the convention floor to begin chanting “USA!

Duncan said at the start of his speech that he was addressing the millions of Republicans and independents watching at home who are “sick and tired of making excuses” for former President Donald Trump.

trumps new home after he loses the election. His children don't even like him. They'll have him put on ice as they fight amongst each other for control of the family business.

democrats moving further right and doing right wing policies while letting a dude who voted alongside trump 90% of the time to speak at their convention while censoring uncommitted delegates from voicing their opinion, or having a palestinian american speak for two damn minutes. awesome.

all of this just confirms what i've been saying this entire time. democrats are not liberals.

Democrats are Patriotic Americans just like Kinzinger said.

As far as letting some use the convention to air their grievances about the Palestinian/Israel conflict, it wasn't the time or place for that. It's understandable why they were not allowed to speak. It was the Democratic National Convention where they pick their Presidential nominee not a Free Palestine rally.

And I'm not on Israel's side. They're committing genocide.

I'm glad to see the Democratic party moving back towards the middle. That's why they're going to win in November. As they move towards the middle they gain voters. As the Republicans move towards the far right they are losing voters.

When you participate at a political convention, you literally have to make a legal commitment to support - in word and deed - the candidate selected at that convention. There is a contract, to participate you agree to sign it and are held to its terms.

Uncommitted delegates censored themselves.

Toward the middle from where?

The Dems haven't been the working person's party, in reality, in a very long time. They've given that plank lip-service for a long time, while Bill Clinton helped to repeal Glass-Steagall, and set the banks free to victimize the working stiffs, and endorsed trade agreements that sometimes fucked the workers AND the Country, often hand-in-hand with the R's.

And as far as 'personal grievances' concerning Gaza are involved (not that violating both US and international law equates to 'personal grievances'), the DNC permitted a number of Israeli/Americans related to hostages to take the stage.

One-sided, blindered views is often what partisan and full-tilt Nationalist gatherings are made of, but turning that into an art form?

If they want the status they once had, then their rhetoric will need to better match their actions... and at the moment, they do not.

As Carville said, (the glaring issue that is the support of illegal occupation and genocide) in Gaza is going to be a problem for the DNC, (even if it means another Trump term).

The Democratic National Convention is about America. It's not a platform for airing grievances about a war between Israel and Hamas. Her points are valid but it was the wrong forum. They did nothing wrong by refusing to allow her to give that speech.

The far left was organizing to disrupt the event as well. There is a reason they were not welcome to speak. But there's a solution. They can hold their own convention and say anything they want instead of being pests. Problem solved.

Then why permit the Israeli hostage relatives on-stage?
