What's new

Zenith feminized limited edition

Ok so i got these I think on the day they wee released and they popped their heads around the 1/2/23. Zarathustra (ZA) is on left and popped a couple of days ahead of Zoroaster (ZO) on the right. The first week is the 'please don't die' week and i start the veg timetable from a week after so I'm taking 8/2 as the start of veg.
So at 2 weeks:

I'm reusing the same substrate (fytocell) I used for the last grow as it was too hot and obv had some life left it in so I picked the old plants out with most of root mass and then refreshed the fytocell with Epsoms and hemp seedmeal. The hsm doesn't have loads of npk but enough and I believe it basically makes the nitrogen already present more available and has lots of other goodies in it. I can top dress or liquid feed if necessary.

As the other 2 going in are tropical sats that side needs to be weaker so I put some fresh fytocell in the holes as you can see from the image. The TS are out 2 weeks ahead of the Zenith. The mix I put the young plants in was too weak as you can see so Id imagine mots of your plants will be ahead of mine at this stage.

I think I'm limited in how many pics I can post so I'll do a new post.

So that is basically after 1 week- 10 days under a 100w cob 4k led in a mixture that was way to soft!

1 week later 21/2 Za bottom left Zo bottom right

week 4 8/3

Right from the off the 2 seedlings were a bit different so I'll put down what I noticed to help distinguish the phenoes but it's pretty obvious. Out the ground za was a bit slower with zo popping and reaching for the light within a few hours. Za has more rounded leaves and zo has more pointed, sharper (sat like!) leaves) and at this stage growth was about the same. again I'd expect most of your plants to be ahead of mine at this stage.
I flipped on Friday 17th march but I always start the flowering countdown from the following Sun/mon so flowering started on 20/3/23. This pic is from 17th:

and these 2 are from 28/3 1 week into flower. I always have a cal mag issue, either too much or too little but there is basically sod all I can do as the water is very very hard (leave the water for a day and you can write on blackboards with it!). It doesn't; cause any problems and so far za hasn't had any signs and just a bit on the other 3. The TS are from 2017 i think so I think top left is an OT haze and top right poss a Panama and not dissimilar to Zenith - remember they have 2 weeks on the Zenith:

They are on 12/12 under 2x200w quantum boards and I can add a couple of 100w ufos or hps to supplement the lighting if needed. Good luck with your grows and i'll try and update once a week prob on Wednesdays.
ed - forgot to say all are topped apart from za.

5 Zenith seeds soaked for about 12 hours and into peat pellets…along with a couple SMH and a Green Haze x A5…oh and a Bubba Hash x Malawi. So 9 Ace fems that I’m shooting to bring up to the light soon for the outdoors. Still debating if I’ll run any OTH or it’s crosses this year Aside from the A5. I’ve got jars full from the past two seasons and lots of other things to play with. Exploring Tom Hill Haze (with luck) and it’s crosses as well some old original DJ blueberry (again with luck).

I already have, thats why the other ones show some deficiency in a leaf or two, that one is still showing it advancing even after doing that.
yeah, a couple of my plants were/are showing a similar problem- i was told it could be a ph problem not allowing cal or mag to be absorbed ... i corrected my ph, still see it, but it does not seem to be hindering the growth...

I see plants every so often that have these same spots on them, in the past i tried chasing the problem down to fix, usually with it making it much worse or doing nothing at all, so now if everything else is looking good, in this case 6 of 7 plants when you include the Super Panama Haze then other than the uppotting that i did im just going to monitor and make a decision later on.

If it is a strong growing plant then it will get flowered, but I haven't found any of the few plants ive flowered that has this issue going on to be worthy of running again, but still i wont rely on that past experience to make the decision for me. I keep a lot of clones from my grows, and usually start more seeds than i can reasonably flower in the spaces i have, and there is always something that is ready or close to being ready to fill in a space, so i have started being a little more judicious in what does and doesn't get flowered. I used to never would kill a plant, now ill chop one into my soil/composting bin 7 or 8 weeks into flower.

I have a lot of peat in my mix, so im always adding some lime to keep ph from dropping too low. I will be switching some of the peat out for a more balanced soil over time, but I'm not a hurry to move that along.

I have a large soil mix bin, around 70-80 gallons that stays at least half full that i add all the trim too which has a lot of life in (pill bugs, worms, and fungus/bacteria to break things down), plus other things to compost into it at times. When i get ready to use it for plants i add some amendments to it in a pot, one of which usually being super triple phosphate, plus i periodically use some bio bizz fish mix when needed.

I also added about 7 gallons of compost into it a week or so ago that i made starting last year which the chickens stayed digging in.

Everything else is looking as it should using the same mixture. I went ahead and just added a little super triple phosphate to the top of that one.

I have about a half gallon of insect frass from over 10,000 meal worms i need to add into the bin
