Sad news for Zamal lovers. Reunion Island has decided to gradually switch it's sugar cane production for industrial hemp with 5 parcels starting right now in various locations around the Island.

I guess it's time to do some repros of what is left as the strain is suddenly in danger of massive genetic pollution

ACE sells out of all Zamaldelica stock in 3 .... 2 ..... 1 ....

Sorry to jump in... Just thought I'd throw in some pics of my first attempt at Ace's Zamaldelica fem. For my first time running new strains, I always run them untrained so I can see their natural expressions. This pretty girl is growing in the SoCal sun, heat, and humidity this year. This is in my organic pro-mix blend in 10 gallon fabric pots. It's in a small pot to attempt to keep it kinda small. Next time will go straight in the ground. I'm noticing the pistils are turning a nice shade of pink. Anyone recognize the pheno? Sorry my pics are bad. I'll try better in the future

I know this is serious, but when it's out of my control, I need to laugh. Thanks OZZ.

My pleasure! I’ve got 12 Zamaldelica beans from an order around 2015 but I’m thinking I might pick up an extra pack to add to my seed bank just in case. Not sure of any changes that ACE has made to the line since 2015 though so I may need to re-read through this thread again to get a timeline of any changes made. If I remember right they did start pushing it towards the Malawi side, which I would rather avoid since it’s so dominant in their other crosses and I already have Malawi regs and the new fem release of their Malawi killer. I’m not sure if that was prior to 2015 or after. Maybe it’s best to just wait until next year when I have more space and do an open pollination seed run with the 12 zamaldelica regs that I have.

This one started like a Malawi with wider leaves and shorter internodes than other Z I have grown and is now flowering like a Thai, was more or less what I expected given the strong citric smell I got from the stem rub. This is a top I can't really take a picture of the whole plant as it's surrounded by cactii and thorns.stems still reek of lemon but the young tiny buds don't bring yet

here is my zam. fem'd - unfort i planted it outdoors at the end of july, hence the small/small size.... BUT... the plan is to continue the flowering under a 1000w hps in a shed- by the looks of it, it doesn't look like it leaning to the thai, but more to the malawi... am i correct??

Maybe the lineage has changed but last time I checked Zam fem was Zamal X straight Malawi. The Thai was only in the regular version using a male golden tiger.

I may be wrong but I think it is zamaldelica elite x malawi...

Yes you probably know better I never have grown the fem version, just think I remember Dubi chose to breed both line towards his favourite Zamaldelica elite pheno for a zamal high without the hermie and semi-autoflowering traits, with some Thai phenos still popping from time to time In the inbred regular line

In the last two days i had a meeting with a small zamaldelica bud which was taken early for mold prevention, one cola of my zam#1 had some light burn and started to rot, so the top was cleaned and quickly dried(3 days).

It's a very early sample but must say she has some very interesting qualities, not much or taste because of quick drying but the effect is already very enjoyable and leans in the direction i really like. Seems to be great daytime weed with psychedelic potential, it already alters the perception significantly and has a surprisingly positive vibe to it.
Still some weeks until she gets chopped and i already like her.

Cheers

It has very thin leaves and I’ve seeded the lowers with Bangi Haze pollen. I’m gonna call the cross Zambang or Zbang

Gave her up in 2017 due to environment, had two phenos, one carrot mango, one pineapple.

I will grow her again with the new seed lot soon.

Such great plants outdoors, I wish I had that set up.
