Why Work? The Zero Work Movement

the protege

Member
Rediculous!

Why work? How about pushing yourself for the greater good, to be motivated by something other than sitting at home and being stoned all day. To get out and feel productive by helping humanity with a need. Find your own motivation, but please remember, there are more important things than yourself....

So what you are saying is the less 'people running the show' would in fact give us more freedom as individuals? I agree.....

Exactly. Run your own show.

Nobody knows better than you how to make the decisions that will affect your life.

Thank you!!! :pointlaug

I ask you this oh wise one that concurs with the other wise one.....Where does your 50% go???? If you added all the stuff the we pay for we pay more than them.....And what do we get in return for this payment????? Less than what they do

How much will it cost to put your children through college???? Alot
Them? Nothing
How much will it cost you during your life to pay for health insurance???
Them?? Nothing
How much of your tax money gets put into their( leaders pockets)??? alot
Them and their tax money??? alot also but at least they give you the reach around while they are fucking you....Here in our country we are getting porked with no grease....All the while giving such high esteem to celebrities and the rich things they own, while we are disgusted with people who free load because their upbringing did'nt teach them that taking something a government freely offers is stealing or wrong.....

you have taken the original message in the thread way out of context...

obviously, humans must work to sustain their bodily organism; the issue is what is work to provide basic needs and what is work to satisfy every desire, and how these two produce different societies.

peace.

Sophisto. Socialist countries may pay less, but they get worse quality. I feel capitalism in the US needs to be a little more socialist, but once you are predominantly socialist I feel it breaks down.

u.s may have smaller waiting lines, but that just means they care for less people, since not every citizen in the u.s can receive free medical treatment, unlike here in venezuela, even a bum without one cent in his pocket will receive the medical attention he may need if he seeks it, including medicines.

That's the tradeoff, and people who can afford healthcare generally want it to be the best it can be and do not like the idea of sacrificing quality so another person who may not want to work can get it for free.

There does have to be a balance. Everyone should be able to get healthcare in one way or another. But great care should be taken to ensure quality does not go down, and this is what has always happened with socialist societies.

isn't the u.s the number 1 country in the world where medical malpraxis occurs?

the psychology of the more you pay the better the quality is what has allowed brand names to over-charge and exploit.

So why then do you think we have the best medical technology available? It's because the system is privatized.

Malpractice is another issue. There's probably malpractice because there is a shortage of doctors and they get overworked to the bone.

If a man is so inclined to bette his life through work so be it. When man finds a pupose in life I feel it is a more fufilling life. Although each man has his own definition of pupose. Who am I or you to say who is living right or wrong. I also ask you why this idea of a man finding his purpose in doing nothing until he feels inspired bothers you so much. Is'nt a free man entitled to this???

For me I work because I love my work I was fortunate enough to find what I love....I can not judge some one who has not found this passion or desire.... How can You????

Or because they to are puppets of the privatized healthcare system. They prescribe, treat and give services in a fashion that is equal to the amount of coverage your insurance pays......Got a heart problem ok we can help you( Rich man) Same heart problem for a poor man and he will die a certain death....

Social system you would be treated much more fair and equal....

Everything in our system is so class oriented, you have good treatment for those in a hih class and poor treatment for those of low class.. If you dont believe me then next time you need to see a doctor go to an inner city clinic and go see a doctor...

The goal is best treatment for all, but that seems not to happen with socialism - quality is sacrificed to ensure healthcare for all

venezuela has cutting edge medical technology, used for free by people too.
there are thousands of people all over the country using the last technology in dialasis for free. using eeg machines for free, electromagnetic resonance for free, etc...

that is your opinion, not the facts. in cuba, medical quality is higher than in the u.s, and this is a fact.

I didn't know that US emergency rooms denied peoples from being treated?

I have been flat broke and was admitted to the hospital with no insurance and they billed me.... still got my medical attention

how are you guys getting away with 'free' medical? the answer is you're not... someone is paying more than their share to cover for someone not carrying their weight..... it's not free.... you are paying for it... just through a different vehicle....

I didn't know if that media story was true/false? figure you live there you can tell us.....

Nothing was flipped to support a bias. You did not clarify your position, as you have now.

How do I not pay for my chldren's education? Well, they go to public schools, and the city pays for that. For college, my government offers grants and scholarships.

My employer pays for my health insurance.

I have been reading through this thread...

my opinion on welfare is that even though some that are on it shouldn't be, do you really think that will change how much social taxes you pay from your check? do taxes get lower when there are less people on it, and more when there are more? doubtful.

The only jobs people should do are those that make them happy and feeling full filled. but, most people do not receive those jobs, even if they've gone through college. But my first assumption would be that casheir at a convenient store wasn't on the top of the employee's list of dream jobs.

What if I were to tell you that if the whole planet worked towards a common goal for a short period of time, that no one would ever have to work again, and have everything they need, plus many things they want, for the rest of their lives with only minor amounts of work every once in a great while, what would you think about your jobs then? it is very possible. what would you do with yourself? commit suicide from boredom?
