I got some Afghan Hash Plant seeds x 4 regs as a freebie from an order some time ago. They’re Barneys Farm, a company I don’t know much about apart from all their varieties. I grew them out last year and was very surprised, I’ve kept one as it has the most gorgeous black current and hash flavour as well as a quite narrow leaf. Very potent and typically narcotic. It’s not the biggest yielding and takes 10 weeks to mature from clone. This was a nice surprise. The other female was more to the black hash flavour and typically great for introspection in deep space.
This one has my interest. They say it's a 70s Mazar. One of the very few varieties they still do as regs too.

Seems like they are mainly Indian Landrace Exchange repros?

Here are this year’s Afghans I’ll be transplanting into the ground soon: 4 Mazar-I-Sharif from Baaba Qo selections, and 4 Panjshir from The Real Seed Co. The Mazari were started April 1 and the Panjshiri April 12 (the baby ones were started more recently to replace a couple I probably overwatered that damped off).

So it’ll be a battle of the historically top-rated Mazari versus the newcomer Panjshiri. My thanks go out to the UN Office of Drug Control for recommending the Panjshiri, by saying in its annual reports that Panjshir hash was fetching the top price in the country -

Here’s some Afghan Mix from The Real Seed Co. that I grew on the windowsill as my annual plant abuse project this winter, that are finishing soon. TRSC often has these as freebie bonus seeds and they are also for sale at a good price.

Origins could be Balkh, Mazar, Badakshan or Kunduz, as someone mixed up the four types. Smells range from floral bathroom cleaner scent to a fuel smell with grape and lemon accents. They don’t look like the Balkh plants I’ve grown before, but who knows what they really are. Bracts are still swelling and getting more resinous. I’ve been light depriving them to keep them in flower, I’ll keep them going until they stop plumping up. Definitely worth a shot if you don’t care exactly where they came from -

Garbage ... Lots of herms
How hard were they herming , like just a few naners or full intersex? Where did he say he obtained that old stock? I wonder if they just had seeds from previous hermies that they didn't intentionally reproduce and at some point that was all they had left.

Is there a thread with the backstory of how he obtained that old Neville stuff? It's probably common knowledge but my history is somewhat rusty on origins.
I don't think has any old genetics from Nevil? But Sam, Mel Frank, Seattle Greg... or?

Idk but purest indica is the base line for NL so Neville was working with it. That being sed the stock he had may have originated from herm bag seeds and who knows how bottlenecked it is. I Imagine Neville was doing large selections in less then optimal conditions judging by the seedbank catalog pictures so he may have been able to select phenotypes that were more stable from stock that was prone to hermaphrodism. I'm just making an educated guess though.

The 1st pack was not usable. Lots of herms and plants that didn't meet any needed traits. This doesn't really bother me.. How a person markets the seeds matter. Todd should be marketing them with a clear understanding of what there for. Selling packs for 100$ is only for tested stable lines IMO. His seeds need a lot of work and selections to get to anything worth using. He should list them for breeding stock, packs of 50.

So did Neville or someone else in Seattle if I'm remembering correctly

There's a ton of info on NL. Todd adds Seattle Greg in everything he posts. I would use another source..
