^ Dry sieved from the same harvest trim. I used a big metal bowl and the 70 micron bubble bag screen. Fuck it…it’s out I’ll smoke some. This shit is 2.5 years old. Outdoor trim.

Crumbled onto herb from the same harvest the hash was made from. Still good.

I have to garden this year. Grow a new crop. This stuff is getting old.
Hashish was created to keep the resin smokable for longer period of time than flowers

Agree. It keeps well jarred and in the fridge. I’m pretty buzzed. Flavor is good.

The herb I’ve kept in 1 oz increments vacuumed sealed. I break it out ounces at a time for personal use. It keeps ok. Like old school brick weed when it comes out.

Yeah this hash is alright. Every time I break out the bubble or dry sieve I remember why we make it. Such a clear uplift. I’m going out to work in my yard 😂 shit to do

Soooo...after 48 hours, the smaller chunk has further developed and changed to the soap bar like texture and appearance. Very strange. I am, for the moment, assuming it has something to do w the heat pressing technique I used. Just strange to see one change so quickly, one take 2 days to settle in. Anyone have thoughts on it?

It could be a bit too much moisture in the resin before pressing. I remember Frenchy mentioning that, I believe it was part of the reason that he switched to using a freeze dryer for drying. He did say that different strains would provide different textures to.

Think tomorrow I'll clean the screens, maybe get started on the next run.

The trim is quite dry. I checked it before putting it in freezer.
Cool thing about having more... experimenting!

I also think it's the different levels of humidity in the different chunks who make them behave in different ways, some resin will stay wet for longer period than other, so many factors can influence the end result, it makes a diagnostic extremely difficult to do with certitude. The trichome heads size, the resin being very greasy or more sandy texture, the temps when the hash is made, how the glands retain water, all those will influence how the hash will be in the end. That's why hash making is closer to the art of cooking than a strict protocol to follow, too many variables to have the same result each time. That's also what make it so enjoyable to produce your own, it's a never ending learning process.

Moisture or contaminants would be my call.

I just did a run of hash that just failed the Frenchie bottle press - probably because it was early harvest. When I scope it, I see a forest of trichome stalks and obviously not enough resin to make it gel. it was 159u-73u btw and it does get you nicely high. I have another run that I did last June - another earlier harvest - that did the Frenchie melt but the final result has a soft 'chalky' texture rather than firm or gooey. It looks a lot like your samples above. It was 159u-45u. A killer hash to smoke but . . . Btw both were quick machine washes with only a few tiny specks of green matter. Both were dried for several days and I clean the working surface of the bags with iso between washes . . . so it has to be contaminants from the early harvest afaik.
