This has been fairly obvious. Some seem to think China (along with India) is being nice to Russia by sifting their oil purchases to Russia. Why wouldn't they when the Russian oil is much cheaper now because of the western price cap... Russia is turning into China's bitch resource producer.

A veteran of the CIA and Pentagon who now helps to run one of the most powerful think tanks in Washington, Matthew Kroenig, has published an article in highly influential Foreign Policy magazine calling for the United States to prepare to wage war on China and Russia.

Kroenig served in important national security state roles in the George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump administrations, and has significant sway in DC foreign-policy circles.

Kroenig insisted that the US military should “threaten nonstrategic nuclear strikes” on China over Taiwan and Russia over Europe.

Referring to Washington’s conflict with Beijing and Moscow as a “new cold war,” he also called for boosting the $768 billion annual US military budget even further, maintaining that “the United States can afford to outspend Russia and China at the same time.

Europe is not buying refined fuels from Russia through India. India is buying bulk crude from Russia and they are then refining it into other products and selling those.

one of the problems Russia has faced due to sanctions is that its sales of refined products have gone way down.

Russia's production of bulk crude has remained at about the same levels as before the war but it's going to primarily China and India now.

because Russia is now selling to a lesser number of countries as the market narrows there is less competition and the buying countries, China and India, are dictating prices.

so the end result is that Russia is producing about the same amount of crude as before the war but getting about 30% less for it while the cost of production remains the same.

so the sanctions on Russia's energy are working very well helping to tighten the stranglehold the West has put on Russia.

Russia wants to sell refined products but they are now forced to sell primarily bulk crude at less profit.

and, once again, zerohedge has twisted the truth and tried to make it look as if the sanctions are not working.

China agrees with this

"Recognizing also that the unprecedented challenges now facing Europe following the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and against Georgia prior to that, and the cessation of the membership of the Russian Federation in the Council of Europe, call for strengthened cooperation between the United Nations and the Council of Europe, notably in order to promptly restore and maintain peace and security based on respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of any State, ensure the observance of human rights and international humanitarian law during the hostilities, provide redress to victims and bring to justice all those responsible for the violations of international law…”

2 Canadians killed in Ukraine's bloodiest battle in Bakhmut

Two Canadians have been killed in action around the fiercely contested Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, with one of them telling CBC News before his death that the conditions on the front line were like a "meat grinder."

Kyle Porter, 27, of Calgary, and Cole Zelenco, 21, of St. Catharines, Ont., were both serving with Ukraine's International Legion, which was attached to the 92nd Mechanised Brigade.

The unit has been bearing the brunt of a ferocious Ukrainian effort to hold Bakhmut against a determined Russian attack.

The city in the eastern Donbas region has been the site of the longest running and bloodiest battle of the war, with thousands — if not tens of thousands — of casualties on both sides.

Both men had previously served in the Canadian Armed Forces but had left the army before signing up to fight in Ukraine. Their commander said the two had become close friends.

in every photo i have seen of him sitting at a table since the war began, he is holding the edge of the table hard with his right hand. perhaps as if to stop it from visibly shaking.

The latest number I saw for Russian losses is 100,000. That's getting towards double the number of souls we lost in Viet Nam in a much shorter time. Russian citizens must be feeling it real bad.

That's not counting the living casualties or injured Russians pulled off the firing line because of injuries.

Russians don’t care. They’re fought every war in their history by throwing bodies at it, it’s their national strategy.

The Ukrainians are going to run out of bodies well before the Russians. Thing is, they all died for nothing, except for the billions they made U.S. defense contractors.
