Never poke the big bear.

A few tanks doesn't make a difference.

and you said the abrams were too big for the terrain in Ukraine! lol

the real deal with Russia and all of those tanks is that Russia does not have enough trained people to operate them.

here is a complete list of Russian tanks. broken down by type.

Russia[60]T-722,030 (active), 8,000 (in storage)

Soviet Union
850 T-72B3, 550 T-72B3M, and 630 T-72B are in operation,[61] More of the T-72B's in storage will be upgraded to T-72B3 standard and redeployed.[62]
T-80480 (active), 3,000 (in storage)

Soviet Union
480 T-80BVM are in operation.[61] 3,000 T-80B tanks in storage will be upgraded to T-80BVM standard and redeployed.[63][64][65]
T-90417 (active), 200 (in storage)

Russia
All existing T-90 variants will be modernised to T-90M from 2020 to 2025.[66][67]
T-14 Armata20+ (active)

Russia
100 planned

you can see from this list that Russia had, in active duty, at the beginning of this war, a total of 2947 operating tanks.

from the Indian army, an assessment of Russia's tank losses in Ukraine and its possible impact on the Indian army's use of Russian tanks.

"Whether it has reached obsolescence given the decimation of Russian tanks forces. It is estimated that 1,400 tanks of the Russian Army (RA) have been destroyed in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia."

taken from;

this is India internally discussing whether or not the Russian tanks are obsolete in warfare.

but, also, this is a government sympathetic to Russia telling the truth about Russian tank losses.

with each of these 1400 tanks was a minimum crew of 3. which means 4200 trained tank operators are not there anymore.

so, even though Russia has 1000's more t-72's to burn through, they don't have trained operators for them.

there are only 20+ t-14's in existence, so they will have little impact.

the losses to date mean that Russia has about 1547 tanks with crews available.

and they need them elsewhere as well as Ukraine.

personally, i don't think the tanks are all that important anymore.

they should give the Ukrainians 10,000 off-road 4-wheelers with anti-tank missiles and machine guns mounted on them.

in the first gulf war, the bradleys killed more enemy tanks than the abrams.

Abrams are blown up by goat herders in Yemen lol, but
these tanks need special maintenance, so you need the knowledge for it and they are much heavier than the average Russian tanks for the terrain, otherwise you will sink in the mud with wet weather.
US service engineers at the time in Iraq even admit it was hard to fix those Abrams.

Poke the bear all you want if it's charging.

"Don't poke the bear" is generally in reference to a bear at rest.
The bear was in rest for a long time, but gave warnings and western countries with the US ahead didn't listen and now the bear is angry.

Ukraine getting a bunch of F16's.

That might be good news for Russia. Give them a chance to train against American airplanes.

Though Ukraine will probably not get the A-grade airplane electronics.

On the other hand, Russia can easily study the American avionics & electronic warfare technologies simply by having observers on the ground in Iraq etc.

the Russian bear never hibernated, he has continuously threatened his neighbors and now needs to be muzzled.

you fail to realize that the western world is not afraid of Russia.

they were more worried about losing the Russian energy supply than with Russia militarily.

Putler thought wrongly that the EU would just let him have his way with Ukraine.

all he has done is teach them to make other arrangements for energy.

the small countries surrounding Russia are worried about Russian aggression.

Putler has used outright or thinly veiled threats against almost every country that borders Russia at one time or another.

all this has done is expand his border with nato.

nato has been and will be extremely effective in containing Russia.

from day one it has always been about containing Russian aggression.

The EU is just to stupid to follow a sleezy senile walking dead zombie controlled by a fungi.

reality can suck, sometimes! the Moroccans today announced they will send 173 t-74 tanks to Ukraine.

Spain will contribute 53 leopards.

by the way, the abrams that have been destroyed in combat in Yemen were the "export" version without the depleted uranium ceramic net armor.

they had conventional chobham armor.

France said they will probably send tanks as well. the Abrams going to Ukraine won't have the latest armor either. as far as that goes, there is an experimental new armor on the way. it is working very well in testing, but has not yet been put into bullet-proof vests yet. lightweight, thinner AND flexible but stronger than steel, the fabric was developed by researchers at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. literally stronger than "bulletproof"...

all this has done is expand his border with nato.
once he is completely surrounded, he'll give a press conference that sounds like Chump/Santos wrote the speech -" we have them right where we wanted them all along! my stroke of genius has worked...hand out the pitchforks! to Infinity and Beyond!"

Yay, more death and destruction, yay…..yay….woo hoo!!!
i sincerely hope all of this weaponry will not actually be used.

i hope Putler sees the strength of resolve and determination of the Ukrainian people and their supporters to stop Russia as a deterrent.

he probably won't as he sees losing this war as a threat to his hold on power.

he should not have invaded Ukraine and now he's got a tiger by the tail and can't let go without being eaten.

all of this show of support and combined strength is part of the psychological side of warfare.

you must make the enemy think their destructive path is futile.

it's interesting how many non-nato countries have sent aid to Ukraine as well.

Morocco, Australia, Japan, and South Korea are sending aid so far.

forgot to mention that Turkey is sending a huge ship designed to generate enough electricity to power a city.

they will dock it in the Moldovan port and cable it into the Ukrainian grid.
