they USED to. Ukrainians man many of them these days, of those that didn't burn...:tiphat:
Those Abrams aren't no good for the Ukrainian terrain.Tank is to heavy with its 70 ton.

In Yemen they're used, not with great succes btw

The Germans will be sacrificed by delivering Leopards, but for those tanks you need a proper training too.In the Netherlands they were more in the garage for repair than operational.

the russians are beating themselves. the fighting in bahkmut shows the russians repeatedly attacking entrenched defensive positions with human wave type assaults.

russian losses right now are 500-700 men per day.

the Ukrainian forces are not fighting for control of bahkmut, they are fighting to exhaust the russians.

and to deplete the manpower and munitions.

it takes more resources to attack than defend.

soledar is not an important strategic point. neither is bahkmut. the roads and railways that supply them are important strategic points

the Russians were supposed to be preparing for a large spring offensive. now they have to wait because they are not equipped and don't have enough people.

the spring offensive is not going to happen.

meanwhile, the equipment keeps arriving. the Ukrainians are getting stronger.

the russian troops are ill-equipped, one group is complaining that they don't even have enough rifles or ammo. out of food and water.

warehouses full of russian munitions are being blown up. the ukrainians just discovered another large cache of 152mm ammo for the big guns. this time in the kharkiv region. in an area controlled by ukraine for 4 mos.

the winter is closing out and the energy systems in ukraine are still functioning despite the attacks on the grid. so putler just wasted a bunch of expensive, hard to replace munitions in another failed effort.

the entire southern front from kherson to kharkiv is a continuous dug-in defensive line.

almost no movement by either side in 4 months. little pieces of dirt going back and forth with no real progress made.

putler is trying to take and hold as much land as possible before this war goes to the negotiating table.

sometime in the spring the Ukrainians will launch an assault designed to cut the russian line in two from Zaporizhzhia to Melitopol.

putler had announced another mass mobilization but it's not happening yet because the russian people don't want this war.

young men are pouring out of the country in every direction.

nobody is volunteering.

there is infighting between the wagners and russian generals. prigozhin is blaming shoigu, the defense minister, for all the failures.

it really doesn't look good for russia now. they sought to fight a war of attrition after the initial invasion failed.

but now they are the attrited instead of the attriter.
Ukraine are now picking up men from the streets in Odessa. They already lost around 122K of men.Summons are be enjoyed on the door and photographed, because no one is opening their door to be picked up and serve as cannon fodder.

actually, this one was in a deteriorating orbit, and was about to re-enter the atmosphere when it was hit to intentionally rupture and disperse the fuel before it came down.
I'm speaking to the fact that they actually consider targeting working satellites in orbit as terrifying. And incredibly short sighted.

Neutrality and Outer Space Vol. 93

I. INTRODUCTION
In 1959, one of the first authors addressing the issue of neutrality in outer
space asked whether the topic “looms as a defiance of common sense.”1
Although space operations were still in their infancy, Verplaetse correctly
foresaw that outer space would be increasingly used for military purposes,
which, of course, raised the question of whether, and to what extent, such
uses would be governed by the law of armed conflict, including the law of
neutrality. However, Verplaetse did not discuss the law of neutrality with a
view towards protecting neutral space objects, instead, he analyzed it with a
view to a then still probable appropriation of outer space and celestial bodies
by States that had, or were about to have, the necessary technology to do so.
Article II of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty resolved this issue by providing
that outer space was not subject to claims of sovereignty,2 but this does not
necessarily mean that the issue of whether the law of neutrality applies in
outer space is now irrelevant.

The tanks are a sign, but not a game changer. Like often the whole debatte is blown up. In a time, the whole former sowjet tanks are used/spent, where they are fighting with in them moment, after this, it´s logic that Ukraine gets western tanks then.

All the russian nuclear threads are just propaganda also. China don´t want that russia uses nulcear weapons. The world economy is more important for China, than Russias war in Ukraine.

These sick people who want to rule the world are all about numbers and symbols.

The Germans are making their own bed to sleep in, and Russia will make sure it will be uncomfortable for years to come

well, actually Germany is not supplying them, Poland is. but the Poles DID ask Germany for permission to give them away/sell them/whatever. "and hurry up with those Abrams, Sam! WTF, dude... " it'll take weeks if not months to get the Ukrainian tankmen up to speed on the Abrams. and maintaining them will be a bitch. complicated all the way around. speed things up a LOT if Belarus would see clear to donate THEIR Russian tanks and missiles to the cause...:biglaugh:

treaties are all well and good...but who can enforce them? treaties get broken every day all over the world. no reason it won't be the same in space, the ultimate high ground. the US, Russia, China, North Korea, everyone. okay, maybe not Ireland or Samoa. the Kiwis seem fairly stable, but the Aussies are crazed, who knows what they are gonna do. i keep expecting them to invade Antarctica, but they have enough problems with their birds to keep them busy at the moment though. :smoke:
