back when the soviet union crumbled, all parties agreed to mutual inspections of nuclear arsenals.
the west was shocked to find that a large percentage of the Russian gear was inoperable due to shoddy maintenance.
some of the ICBM missile silos were actually flooded.
in the Ukraine war Russian equipment is breaking down at a rate faster than it can be repaired.
and the Russians seem intent on supplying the Ukrainian army.

there has never been any real strategy in the way Russians conduct warfare.
Putler thought no further than a blitzkrieg attack. he never considered what might happen if it failed.
now that his first and only strategy has failed he intends to pound away with everything he's got until he gets what he wants.
the Russian approach has always been blunt-force trauma.
progressively flatten everything and de-populate by terror. then move in and rebuild and repopulate with pro-Russian people.
and he is flattening and de-populating. targeting the civilian population trying to break the national resolve.
but he has seriously misjudged the West's resolve to stop him.
the attack on the apartment in Dnipro has outraged the world.
they won't stop funding Ukraine now after pouring in billions of aid. the investment is already huge and to quit now would be to write it all off.
the funding, equipment, and intelligence support are ramping up for the long haul.
time is against putler in this war. the longer it goes on the more depleted the Russian forces will be.
and the stronger Ukraine will get.
the Ukrainian infrastructure has already been damaged severely and yet repaired every time.
huge numbers of their population have fled or relocated to the western side of the country.
the Ukrainian army is fighting in the rubble holding positions well against a numerically superior force.
it's actually harder to flush an enemy out of rubble than standing buildings.
the Russian army has apparently forgotten fighting the nazi's in rubble in ww2.
for 3 months the Russians have been stubbornly attacking bahkmut. throwing human waves against dug in Ukrainian forces.
the Russians have only taken soledar in this whole period. and the Ukrainians are dug in just outside of town still slugging it out.
it's not going well for putler.
his problems at home are increasing with each day. he is publically berating his own military and the ministers in charge of production for the war. and it's really not their fault this war is going so badly.

Did the definitive word ever come out on if it was the ukes or the DPR or LPR that shot down MH-17 with a BUK missile? I suspect that was squashed to cover up the fact that the two republics were supposed to be autonomous, and they were always being attacked by the ukes. Azov bunch were the worst. Nobody remembers the staged revolution, or that Ukraine was a war zone during the Obama time, when MH-17 was shot down. Russia didn’t start this, they just want to protect their Russian speaking neighbors next door that were supposed to be protected by the Wests “Minsk” deal.

no public appearances since the big stadium event early in the war.
the one where he was wearing a coat designed for a 300 lb man. probably multiple layers of body armor under that thing.

the carriers made battleships obsolete in ww2, but battleships still were capable of delivering great destruction.
the US had 4 of them shelling targets in the 1991 gulf war. 45 years later.
shoulder-fired missiles carried by infantrymen have made tanks obsolete.
lasers and particle beam weapons will make hypersonics obsolete.
the next step will be mounting weapons on platforms in space spread out like a net all over the world.
instant, line of sight, speed of light, destruction with high accuracy.
i wonder who could afford to build something like that?

ever read about the "rods from God" weapons proposal? they put a lot of thought into it. be an instant cure for buried/hardened missile siloes, laboratories, bomb shelters etc.
