Madrid (ESC). - For more than 40 years, the inhabitants of the former province 53 of Spain, the "Spanish Sahara", have been suffering from a situation of injustice and abandonment by Spain:
Western Sahara was Spanish territory since the end of the 19th century.
In 1975 the Spanish government was going to carry out a self-determination referendum through which the Saharawi people freely decide on their future, however this was not the case. According to the CIA documents, Spain secretly agreed with Morocco the terms of the green march for the military invasion of its 53rd province.
In the documents are the conversations between the King of Spain Juan Carlos and Wells Stabller, ambassador of the United States. According to these declassified documents, it would be clear that the emeritus king did not limit himself to mediating in the conflict of the Spanish Army's withdrawal from Western Sahara, but rather secretly agreed with the US and Morocco the terms of the military invasion of the Saharawi territory.

The more than 170,000 people currently living in the Sahrawi refugee camps, southwestern Algeria, are in very dire conditions and in a food crisis, the refugees face a changing global landscape.
The majority of the Saharawis live in jaimas (tents) and without any source of heating or electricity. If the current situation continues, the refugees “will not be able to bear the situation.
After being abandoned by Spain, the Saharawi people found their refuge in the Algerian Hamada area, one of the most inhospitable regions on the planet, to the southwest of Algeria, on the border of Mauritania, Western Sahara and Morocco.
