He knew he was not welcomed with previous presidents there. Carter was concerned with helping people. Quite the opposite of Chump.
I know, I was joking really, I just said that because in the past few weeks he keeps saying Obama when he means Biden and the media has been reporting how that makes it seem like he's having cognitive issues so his reply back to that is that he was just being sarcastic and was implying the Obama is the one behind Biden and that everyone else just isn't getting his sarcasm. Which obviously is just BS.

have they voted him out, really? good riddance. there is no place in the GOP for lying money-grubbing pieces of shit...except as their candidate for POTUS.
Yeah all but two democrats voted him out and only 105 republican's voted him out. The rest of the Republican's voted for him to stay, even a few who Santos made unauthorized deductions from their credit cards. I mean you would at least think fellow republicans that he robbed would want to vote him out. Anyway the 105 Republicans that voted against him was enough with almost all the Democrats to reach the 2/3rd majority needed.

You would also think that it would be a no brainer considering the voters he represented have been calling for him to be removed just for the way he lied to get elected. Which is just further proof that Republican's don't really give a damn about what the voters think or want. Not that there really needs to be additional proof on that score.

lol... looks like it'll be a one seat majority soon.

And what were they just saying about Gaetz?

All that keeps going thru my mind is, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes". I mean this couldn't happen to a more deserving group of politicians. I could easily flip the script on @JoeyMannarino here and say that all of the republican congress are the selfish pieces of dung, all McCarthy asked for was for there to be some accountability. I'm not say McCarthy was a great Speaker in fact he was one of the worst but his worst actions all benefited clowns like @JoeyMannarino here, The crime that got him booted and wanting accountability, he did the right thing for the American people by allowing a bill to pass that kept the government open in spite of the Republican's inability to responsibly legislate on behalf of the American people.

Now losing their majority outside of an election is a very real possibility and probably what @JoeyMannarino is really upset about is McCarthy will be taking hs ability to raise really big sums of money on behalf of the Republican party in general, with him. They should have learned long before McCarthy got the boot that their method of trying to force things on the Country by holding critical pieces of legislation hostage was a failed practice. Especially with such a slim majority which is now slimmer then before. I can't wait to see the fallout in the next election for how wreckless and incompetent the Republican party is behaving these days.

During a town hall in Iowa last night, Fox News’s Sean Hannity tossed Trump what ought to have been softball question. “Under no circumstances, you are promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?” Hannity asked. “Except for day one,” Trump replied. (The Atlantic)

Fascism is blatantly threatening our nation.

Revenge politics and aggressive attitudes are obviously the basis of Trump's campaign.

How sad is it that part of our country wants an angry dictator to run things?

It's really sad, the only thing sadder is that the idiots that want what Trump is telling them they'll get only think it's okay because as Trump supporters, the harm Trump is planning will never affect them. They've yet to realize that Trump will throw anyone and everyone under the bus if he believes it will get him what he wants. They've not thought it thru to realize that either they and/or people they care deeply about will be harmed by what Trump is planning. They foolishly think Trump is some wonderful leader that will take care of anyone as long as they worship him. What Trump is planning will harm them and their loved ones, either directly or indirectly. Trump is just a selfish basTURD that will trample over anyone, even his own family to get his way. I bet he would even throw his son Barron under the bus if he thought it would some how give him what he wants, to do so. The only thing saving Barron is that as a young man still in school and because of the wealth of his father, he's unlikely to suffer any of the harm Trump is likely to inflict on the country.

Trump's supporters are only focused on Trump's promise to go after anyone he feels has worked against him or that he see's as political enemies. They are okay with it because for years now Trump has been filling their empty heads with lies that these people really deserve what Trump wants to do to them. Which he has clearly stated to them time after time as to what he will do. Lock up Biden and his entire family, they're okay with that. Lock up every judge and prosecutor that has ruled against Trump, they're okay with that. Lock up Anthony Fauci, they're okay with that. Have Gen. Mark Milley executed for what Trump thinks is treason, they're okay with that. What they're not realizing is if Trump is able to do those things he'll become giddy with power and he'll want to keep doing those kinds of things. Once he runs out of obvious enemies, he's not going to just stop there, he'll keep doing these things to people even just for looking at him wrong or for things he just makes up or imagines in his warped twisted mind. That's how dictators operate.

Fortunately, as long as the Presidential election is conducted as least as fairly as the 2020 election, Trump has no hope of winning. In fact I believe that he'll lose by an even bigger margin then he did in the 2020 election. what everone, even his dumbass followers need to worry about and be on guard for is that groups like the Federalist Society will still be trying to move forward with their Project 2025 plans so that the next time a politician with an "R' next to his/her name is elected, they'll have everything ready for that person, whoever it may be, to dismantle our democracy into America's version of the Third Reich. Hopefully before that can happen the American people and whomever they elect will make sure that plan never gets put into action and that the people behind it are held accountible for the traitors that they are to Americans, the Constitution and the American way of life.

I agree with most of what you said, all I would debate is when the cases will wrap up. Everything Ailene "Loose" Cannon has been doing has been an effort to push back the documents case until after the election. She currently has it where she's going to reconsider dates in March of 2024 I believe, at which time most of the legal experts think she'll push back the documents case until after the election. All of which is a fairly clever move if Trump somehow manages to actually get elected and can then kill the documents case as President.

This is all based on most everyone agreeing that of all the cases the documents case is pretty much open and shut against Trump. Now whether Trump wins or loses the election, the GA case can't be stopped since it's a state level case and any presidential powers have no effect. The real question with the GA case is when will it actually start? Many legal experts seem to feel if it starts on the current August date that the DA requested, it is unlikely to wrap up in Nov. 2024. Although to your point if it starts in August, even if it doesn't finish before the election that's plenty of time for more dirt to come out against Trump so it may indeed sway people . Personally I think all this stuff has had enough coverage that the only thing likely to change people's votes is an actual conviction which is supported by polls showing people voting for Trump if he's not yet convicted by election day but voting against him if he is. One hopeful outcome could be that if Ailene "Loose" Cannon does postpone the document case as expected, then the GA DA could ask that her case be moved up to May if that date gets freed up. I say that's a hopeful outcome because there seems to be a big question mark in the minds of the legal experts as to whether the judge who rules on that would allow it. If that does come about and GA proceeds in May then that should be enough time to wrap that case up before the election.

Another curve ball that could be thrown into all this is if Jack Smith tries to get Ailene "Loose" Cannon removed from the documents case. So far though Ailene "Loose" Cannon seems to be aware that he might try that and so far has been trying to be very careful not to give him a good basis for making such a request. If Smith manages to get her removed though then that could pave the way for the documents case to proceed in May and secure a conviction there before November 2024. Of course there is always the wild card of Trump throwing a wrench into things by finally filing a successful motion that goes his way. This seems like a pretty slim chance though because so far Trump has not had much luck with any of his typical efforts to slow things down thru motions. There is also the J6 case which should be able to finish by November 2024 since that's scheduled to begin in March and the judge is firmly resisting any attempts to push back that date. Fortunately Smith filed that case in as minimal a way as possible just for the purpose of preventing it from dragging out in court.

One other difference I have from your take, is that while I would prefer to have Trump as the GOP nominee as well, since I too feel confident he'll lose again to Biden and there would be a certain amount of poetic justice to that. I kind of also want to see Trump blocked from being on the Ballot just so we can have a precedent to lock down how the 14th Amendment Section III works and who all it applies to because with the direction the GOP currently seems to be headed I wouldn't be surprised to see another insurrection in the future led by someone else and therefore I'd kind of like to see any doubts about how the 14th Amendment Section III works, removed before it ever needs to be applied again. I'm not really all that worried about who might become the GOP Nominee if Trump gets blocked. The GOP has screwed itself so badly that the only candidate that might win would be a more Reagan type Republican getting nominated and so far none of those seem to be running for President at the moment. The closest thing to that really is Christie but I don't see him being able to pull off a win.
Another? When did we have an insurrection? Last I checked j6 was about 50/50 cops and idiot vandals. Nobody claimed to be a new government subduing the old government by force.

well, the religious right and allied dimwits think everyone not like them are malignant sinners worthy of chastising, and they are pissed because God is NOT doing his job as they see fit. probably going to vote him out of office and install someone more aligned with their desires...:D instead of the Mango Messiah, His Lordship will henceforth be referred to as "The Golden Calf"... has a nice historical ring to it, doesn't it?:eek:

RE Gaetz - news suggests that the GOP (or elements thereof) might be willing to deliberately destroy their razor-thin majority status in the House and kick Gaetz out too for his ethics lapses. would the Democrats assist then in doing so? he's one of the Ds best examples of why the GOP is the Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight". they might not WANT to take the stench from around the Republicans necks...DON'T
TOUCH THE TARBABY! suffer, motherfuckers!
