A number of years ago a friend and I were looking to rent a house. We ended up renting a house that is about 3/4 hr drive from here.
One of the interesting features of this home was to be found in the basement. At one time there had been a inground pool outside and for whatever reason it no longer was practical. They covered over the top of the pool, put dirt on it and grew a lawn.

Now, downstairs to the basement. I was looking around and noticed a fridge, I opened the door of the fridge and realized it was actually a door that led to what was the pool at one time.

I guess you can all figure out why it was unique and for what purpose it might serve.

sounds like the old Bowmanville German concentration camp in Bowmanvillle , just past Pickering Ontario where I lived a couple of years

Well I finally shot my Mouser Argentino 1909 today. Rechambered in 30.06.
Rifle was made for Argentina by those pesky Germans. Mine was made in 1914. I didn’t get on paper at 25,50 or 100 yards. Looked online and the ladder sight is between 300-2000 meters. So I had no chance of hitting anything at such a short yardage.
Think I’ll ruin the looks and put a scope on it. I’ve heard the barrel is oversize for 30.06, and I’ll need to hand load a particular projectile to make it accurate. Not always the case. But I have not done any measurements yet to see what this rifle has. I have reloading equipment, just never used it. But I have a full set of stuff. Shouldn’t need to buy much.
Cool having a rifle that old. Doesn’t kick much considering it has a steel Butt plate. 😂
Brought the Winchester M1 Carbine out and fired a few rounds through it. Such a sweet shooting rifle.
Took a doe today at 210 yards with a Marlin lever action 30-30. Who says a 30-30 is a brush gun?? I sight in 1/4 inch high at 25 yards. Puts me 1.5 inch high at 100, and 1.75 inch low at 200.

Congratulations on the harvest!
Remember Snipe season just started. I didn't even know we have a Falconry season. Makes me want to get a bird, just cause.

Evening folks! It was a gorgeous day in these parts. There's a pork roast in the crock-pot. K and Kash are off picking up boxes, which is WRONG considering it's Becca's Gotcha Day but he is her favorite. Beer cracked and I'm smoking a roach, killing time until the Vols play the Dawgs between the hedges. I guess I should roll up a joint.

peace
