Thank you.

And I identified the humor in your post.

I sometimes do a good job playing the straight man in comedy skits, whether simply verbal or in action.

We were once chased down the old gravel (pre-pavement) Carcross road in the Yukon Territory (circa 1977) by a vehicle incensed at our driver's performance in the giant orange cube van we'd converted to a passenger hauler.

The vehicle finally found room at the intersection with the Alcan and pulled up along side the cube van the dozen or so of us were in, and rolled down their window, confronting Umby (Umberto), indignantly asking, "Where did you learn how to drive??!!"

Umberto responded, stone cold flat affect, "In the Army (Canadian army), why??"

I've often found a straight reply, even to sarcasm, can, in the right moment, carry a ton of effect.

I will pay each one of you gentleman $20 if you find a different person to bitch about than trump when he goes to jail. I mean seriously we can set up paypal and everything
I got you, Rob.

How about our new Speaker of the House and what a fucking weirdo he is, huh? Having his 17 year old son monitoring his porn habit. No bank accounts and apparently living paycheck to paycheck?

Or James Comer still trying to fuck that chicken of impeaching Biden for :checks notes: being financially well off and giving brother and caring father.

Or Tommy Tuberville putting a stranglehold on military promotions because he's mad that the Military tries to actually give a fuck about their service men and women and their families.

How about McCarthy's elbow in the back? Or Mullins trying to fight the Teamster in a fucking congressional hearing!!!

I will give you Bob Menendez is a piece of shit. And Eric Adams is squaring himself off to be disposed of. Good riddance to both of the pieces of trash.

And that's the difference Rob. Democrats are holding their people accountable for their bullshit. Not giving them cushy committee assignments.

Your apology came loaded with "Yeah, buts" to the extent that the aplogy(ies) is/was/were mitigated, just as the last one was; a mark of ego laden perspective and persona.

Yes, I judged, or, more accurately, assessed the content of what you wrote.

I was once paid well for such assessments.

My kids' apologies once came with similar equivocations. I would repeatedly attempt to teach them that sincere apologies are offered with no prominent "Yeah buts", or equivocations, but rather merely a humble apology for whatever offense.

For some, this stance or perspective can take a life time to develop to fruition, for others not as long, and for some, they never reach that place.

And yes, the human race IS very disappointing, mostly due to the contrast of the good they/we could achieve, absent ego, versus the pitfalls or 'destruction' of reinventing the wheels of conflict (often where there need not be any, such as your initial reply to my post).

From the greatest good, to the greatest harm, humanity has erred or achieved more often to one side. .... Often as a result of lack of humility and presence of inflated ego. A person doesn't need to go searching for this fact; just open the eyes in an objective manner, and it's there, like a heavily fruited tree, in plain view, dragging the branches to the ground.

Anyone who benefited from this, if so inclined can leave $20 with the receptionist.
I offered no "yeah but(s)" I apologized for mistakenly thinking I was replying to someone else and why I made that mistake.

You however seem to have some need to keep making this about you so that you can apparently act like some sort of victim. I don't know, maybe you just have some sort of need to have the last word?

Whatever it is I would encourage you to do as I'm trying to do, which is to drop this side discussion and move on.

Sure, no problem, you can even keep your $20. If you look back over my posts though you'll see that I've bitched about plenty of other people besides just Trump. Of course how much Trump gets left out of discussion after he goes to jail will depend largely on whether Trump manages to stop bitching about how unfairly he's being treated for putting himself into the situation that might put him in jail and if the media relizes that once he's a convict they should stop reporting every little thing Trump says. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed on that score because I suspect the media, like many republicans will be afraid to stop making Trump the center of everything. That like republlicans who fear they'll lose votes of Trump supporters the media will fear losng the ratings/views of the supporters of Trump gives them everytime they talk about Trump.

Back to what this thread is more intended for...

So what do people think? Do you suppose one day soon we'll be seeing a headline something along the lines of, "And then there were five"

So nobody wants to go on record as to how likely they think it is that Nevada will indict Trump? Okay fair enough since not even the media reporting it seems willing to speculate on that.

How about this, what's everyone's take on the Colorado Judge who ruled that she found that Trump did engage in insurrection by inciting the people attemding his rally to go onto the Capital and "fight like hell" but also ruled that Trump should stay on the ballot, at least until a higher authority weighs in on the 14th Amendment because she feels section III doesn't clearly apply to the President or Vice President in the part of section III that says "as an officer of the United States".

Big deal?

The ballot in question is the Republican Primary ballot. Who cares who is on that? If the GOP wants to put a guy who has 4 indictments and facing 91 felony counts they can. If the people who vote in that primary don't want to vote for him they can vote for someone else.

You see I'm all for the GOP nominating Trump. Mainly because I know Trump will lose again. If he somehow manages to not go to prison, his support will crater when all of the crap starts pouring out about his criminal activities in GA, J6, and the Documents case. Nixon had unwavering support up until the moment everything came out about Watergate, and then his support cratered within weeks even without the internet. And the way these lawsuits are lining up, they'll be wrapping up or nearing completion right about November, 2024. So all of this info will be fresh in the minds of the swing voters who don't normally pay attention to this crap until it's election time.

i hear, from very reliable sources, tears running down their faces, that the vaccine for this will be called "sanity"...side effects include not watching fox news or thinking memes are conversation...

Donald Trump bizarrely bragged at a rally on Saturday that he has the “great honor” of having a disease named after him. Speaking to a crowd of supporters in Iowa, the former president said: “Every sane person, without what they call Trump derangement syndrome—do you know what that is? It’s a great honor, I had a disease named after me: Trump derangement syndrome—wants to get back to how great we had it under the Trump administration.” He was referring to a derogatory term for people who criticize Trump that is used by Trump supporters to refer to what they view as an irrational dislike of Trump and all of his policies. In 2016, Trump tweeted about the supposed syndrome, writing “Some people HATE the fact that I got along well with President Putin of Russia. They would rather go to war than see this. It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome!”

I agree with most of what you said, all I would debate is when the cases will wrap up. Everything Ailene "Loose" Cannon has been doing has been an effort to push back the documents case until after the election. She currently has it where she's going to reconsider dates in March of 2024 I believe, at which time most of the legal experts think she'll push back the documents case until after the election. All of which is a fairly clever move if Trump somehow manages to actually get elected and can then kill the documents case as President.

This is all based on most everyone agreeing that of all the cases the documents case is pretty much open and shut against Trump. Now whether Trump wins or loses the election, the GA case can't be stopped since it's a state level case and any presidential powers have no effect. The real question with the GA case is when will it actually start? Many legal experts seem to feel if it starts on the current August date that the DA requested, it is unlikely to wrap up in Nov. 2024. Although to your point if it starts in August, even if it doesn't finish before the election that's plenty of time for more dirt to come out against Trump so it may indeed sway people . Personally I think all this stuff has had enough coverage that the only thing likely to change people's votes is an actual conviction which is supported by polls showing people voting for Trump if he's not yet convicted by election day but voting against him if he is. One hopeful outcome could be that if Ailene "Loose" Cannon does postpone the document case as expected, then the GA DA could ask that her case be moved up to May if that date gets freed up. I say that's a hopeful outcome because there seems to be a big question mark in the minds of the legal experts as to whether the judge who rules on that would allow it. If that does come about and GA proceeds in May then that should be enough time to wrap that case up before the election.

Another curve ball that could be thrown into all this is if Jack Smith tries to get Ailene "Loose" Cannon removed from the documents case. So far though Ailene "Loose" Cannon seems to be aware that he might try that and so far has been trying to be very careful not to give him a good basis for making such a request. If Smith manages to get her removed though then that could pave the way for the documents case to proceed in May and secure a conviction there before November 2024. Of course there is always the wild card of Trump throwing a wrench into things by finally filing a successful motion that goes his way. This seems like a pretty slim chance though because so far Trump has not had much luck with any of his typical efforts to slow things down thru motions. There is also the J6 case which should be able to finish by November 2024 since that's scheduled to begin in March and the judge is firmly resisting any attempts to push back that date. Fortunately Smith filed that case in as minimal a way as possible just for the purpose of preventing it from dragging out in court.

One other difference I have from your take, is that while I would prefer to have Trump as the GOP nominee as well, since I too feel confident he'll lose again to Biden and there would be a certain amount of poetic justice to that. I kind of also want to see Trump blocked from being on the Ballot just so we can have a precedent to lock down how the 14th Amendment Section III works and who all it applies to because with the direction the GOP currently seems to be headed I wouldn't be surprised to see another insurrection in the future led by someone else and therefore I'd kind of like to see any doubts about how the 14th Amendment Section III works, removed before it ever needs to be applied again. I'm not really all that worried about who might become the GOP Nominee if Trump gets blocked. The GOP has screwed itself so badly that the only candidate that might win would be a more Reagan type Republican getting nominated and so far none of those seem to be running for President at the moment. The closest thing to that really is Christie but I don't see him being able to pull off a win.
