Hi Mountainkush,

Congrats on your Tikal harvest :) Yours is indeed an unusual long flowering pheno, hope she delivers the high quality sativa effect you are looking for. You are right, the strawberry Tikal pheno keeps the strawberry aromas through the flowering and after harvest and curing the buds .... later the taste is more spicy with classic Haze incense aroma in the air when smoked.

Glad you and your wife have been enjoying with this Tikal.
Did you give her a try ? Or still in curing process ?

Panama and Tikal can be grown in the same indoor space without problems as both have in average similar height and size, similar flowering times, similar feeding requirements, etc ...

Thanks Dubi
This one smells amazing. It’s like strawberry candy with a little spice?

I was gonna get some Panama with my next order and do a run with the two together.
They should have similar eating habits right?

Thanks guys, she just got chopped tonight after a day in the dark.
This was 5 weeks 18/6, 3 weeks 12/12, 13 weeks 11.5/12.5
The strawberry got a bit of spice to it in the end and seems like this must be the strawberry incense. My wife says it reminds her of picking strawberry’s in the summer. We’re both pretty excited.

It’s kind of a mess from me tying it all together to get it through the door

Hi StrongTree,

Glad to know you are already enjoying with the uplifting and balanced sativa qualities of Tikal's effect :)

How are the terpenes evolving regarding the aroma and taste of the buds now after some curing ?

Looking forward to enjoy with the progresses of your second Tikal female ;)

thanks Dubi...gave her a big drink of water today...i will back off the N earlier...it's my soil mix ,,,i;ll get the fade going on the clones...now that i have got to know this wonderful plant

Congrats also on your bountiful Tikal harvest BenoitV :tiphat:

I cannot fully appreciate the ripeness of your Tikal in your pics, but looks like she was reflowering and producing a new wave of fresh pistils in your late March updates, so maybe you could let her go a bit more, but guess should be fine, glad you are already enjoying her ;) The peach pheno is our favorite newer Tikal expression from latest generations. Usually these peachy phenos also produce nice incensey aromas in the air when smoked.

Best wishes for your upcoming cycle! :)

370g final count, my impatience during drying not included ^^. I guess that’ll be enough until next harvest. I feel like I’ll enjoy this one very much :)

Next one Ace Mix and then Green Haze Malawi. I have Malawi x PCK, Tikal Peach pheno, Zamaldelica and Green Haze x Malawi outside under greenhouse (call me crazy at 50N) and I have cuts of Snow Moon in progress for the garden too.

Thanks Dubi, most is still curing at 2.5 months so far but Ive enjoyed a couple jars of this so far.
I have to say this is some of the best weed I’ve ever smoked. It’s a bit strong and I need to go slow. This is the opposite of a creeper and can be a bit overwhelming when taking large hauls. Crazy strong for about an hour or two then mellows our for an hour or two then fades away.
No more strawberry smell at all. Just some funky spice that my fisherman friend tells me is similar to herring after it’s dried in the sun for a few weeks, but not in a bad way apparently.

Thanks mate :)

However, I have no idea how I am going to contain her until she starts flowering end August/early September...

Maybe I just don't :p

Excellent Mountainkush ;)

So happy to hear you rate your Tikal as some of the best weeds you have had the chance to experience, means a lot! :dance013:

Despite Tikal is an ACE Seeds classic available since our first seed catalogue in 2004, many growers have underestimated the quality and potential of this sativa hybrid.
So i will say it clear and loud again: If you are sativa lover you must a give a try to this strain! :)

You are right, the peach pheno translates much better the peach terpene profile from the aroma to the taste, but it's much more difficult to find a strawberry scented Tikal that has an unmistakable strawberry taste. I think we will need to go through bigger populations of the strawberry scented pheno to find that special plant/s that really keep the strawberry taste.

I've been talking lately with Tikal's breeder (Komanche) about the past, current and future status of Tikal. Komanche has finally written the whole family tree of the strain from the original outcross: Guatemala x NL/Haze, to the next Guatemala backcross (Guatemala x (Guatemala x NL/Haze)) and then all the family branches (regular and feminized) from F2 until F6 generations that produced all the different Tikal versions: old taller F2 Haze/Thai like phenos, the amazing incensey Tikal fem version from 2008 that was very tall and long flowering but had the most intense and refined incensey terpenes in this line and an outsatnding sativa effect (similar to A5 but much more happy and uplifting in psychoactivity), then the more modern, compact, fast flowering and indoor friendly Tikal versions like strawberry Tikal, peach Tikal, etc ....

Every 5 years or so we work again in depth our classic strains to bring them one step further, and the time for revisiting Tikal in depth is coming soon (this year or upcoming) and we plan to germinate all the older Tikal seed lines we have to capture and improve every pheno, and who knows .... maybe even find new interesting things, this line never ceases to amaze us with discoveries of new interesting phenotypes.

Thanks Dubi, most is still curing at 2.5 months so far but Ive enjoyed a couple jars of this so far.

Looks indeed delicious StrongTree :)

Is your second run with the previous female or is she a new female ? Glad to know the peachy smell is also well expressed in the taste too :yummy:
