She looks chunky, with very well developed flowers NENugger :)
The LST worked very well. How are her aromas now in late flowering ?
You are almost there! ;)

Thanks Dubi, my nose is not developed like Thaibliss, I can barely get the first notes. Anyway it is wild carrot (Queen Annes lace) and powerful sweetness that I can't yet identify. :peek:

Excellent Mountainkush ;)

So happy to hear you rate your Tikal as some of the best weeds you have had the chance to experience, means a lot! :dance013:

Despite Tikal is an ACE Seeds classic available since our first seed catalogue in 2004, many growers have underestimated the quality and potential of this sativa hybrid.
So i will say it clear and loud again: If you are sativa lover you must a give a try to this strain! :)

You are right, the peach pheno translates much better the peach terpene profile from the aroma to the taste, but it's much more difficult to find a strawberry scented Tikal that has an unmistakable strawberry taste. I think we will need to go through bigger populations of the strawberry scented pheno to find that special plant/s that really keep the strawberry taste.

I've been talking lately with Tikal's breeder (Komanche) about the past, current and future status of Tikal. Komanche has finally written the whole family tree of the strain from the original outcross: Guatemala x NL/Haze, to the next Guatemala backcross (Guatemala x (Guatemala x NL/Haze)) and then all the family branches (regular and feminized) from F2 until F6 generations that produced all the different Tikal versions: old taller F2 Haze/Thai like phenos, the amazing incensey Tikal fem version from 2008 that was very tall and long flowering but had the most intense and refined incensey terpenes in this line and an outsatnding sativa effect (similar to A5 but much more happy and uplifting in psychoactivity), then the more modern, compact, fast flowering and indoor friendly Tikal versions like strawberry Tikal, peach Tikal, etc ....

Every 5 years or so we work again in depth our classic strains to bring them one step further, and the time for revisiting Tikal in depth is coming soon (this year or upcoming) and we plan to germinate all the older Tikal seed lines we have to capture and improve every pheno, and who knows .... maybe even find new interesting things, this line never ceases to amaze us with discoveries of new interesting phenotypes.

Hey Dubi was interested to hear about upcoming re-examining if Tikal lines. I have experience only with Guatemalan in my Zam hybrid but that alone gives me enough insight on these genetics to know there is a great deal of potential there....

I can see Tikal crossing very well with a number of different things you guys have or are developing. I would love to see you explore Zamal (oooo Tikal x (purpleZam x Honduras)?) influenced crosses of course but I have to imagine Tikal x PCK or KC being good as well as Tikal x Bubba Kush (incensey sort of cross i guess) or even Erdpurt not to mention things like Ethiopian Honduras NepJam and Banghi Haze (something lemony anisette and peachy anyone?) there are a lot of interesting crosses given the range of expressions I’ve read on Tikal.

Harvested yesterday after dark period. Small plant, all bud. Minimal trimming is beautiful.
Bud got nice and fat. Pollinated a lower branch with male Tikal from same batch.

A couple accident while removing the cage, I figured it was kinda useless...

You won't see any other strains in my garden. A neighbour tried to fight me because my cat woke him up at night. I then filed a complaint because I want him out of here and I can't stand his shit anymore. So I kept only one to be legal toward Belgian law after he threatened me to sell me up to the cops... Says the guy who sells half kilogram every week, wicked asshole!

I kept Malawi x PCK and one Snow moon guerilla style, but Green Haze x Malawi and Zamaldelica are gone.

Hi Yukon,

After checking both Tikal regular and feminized stock, i think we will need to work soon (most probably next year) on new reproductions of the strain to produce fresh stock in larger amounts. Then i think it will be the right moment to grow all the different Tikal lines (old and new ones) in the same cycle to make another big breeding step with the strain and to hopefully find new interesting parental plants from different phenos.

My main interest with Tikal outcrosses is to blend Tikal with other central american sativas like Panama, Honduras, Oldtimer's Haze, Oaxaca, etc ....
Our friend PandyFackler is about to finish a Tikal/Honduras grow and looks great!

My dream would be to produce the ultimate incensey sativa strain with the best possible combinations between Panama, Tikal, Oaxaca, Oldtimer's Haze, Dutch elite Haze hybrids and Kali China :ying:

Hey Dubi was interested to hear about upcoming re-examining if Tikal lines. I have experience only with Guatemalan in my Zam hybrid but that alone gives me enough insight on these genetics to know there is a great deal of potential there....

Congrats on your Tikal harvest NENugger :tiphat:

Glad the yield was good and harvest easy to trim
Please, let us know your opinion after a bit of drying and curing.
Tikal is a lovely smoke for summer time :)

Sorry to hear it :(

Bad neighbors and thiefs in your vicinity are one of the worst things that could happen to a cannabis outdoor gardener ..... try to keep calm and to be constructuve, it's important to have good relationships with your neighbors otherwise coexistence and outdoor growing becomes a nightmare.

I'll just ignore him now...

I'm going to Ozora festival (psychedelic tribal gathering) for about 10 days so the Malawi x PCK and the Snow Moon are back in the garden behind the corn so they can get water from the irrigation system when I'm away.

Tikal is big as fuck, Snow moon is back alive (delayed in grow but as long as I get to taste it, that's all fine by me) and Malawi x PCK is feeling good too.

I'll post pictures of them in corresponding topics when I'm back.

So big as fuck indeed. I'm 178cm and she's higher than me and she's wide about 2 square meters. Don't you love 8+ months vegging :)

I guess she'll start flowering around end of this month, I obviously don't mind if she gets even bigger, enough weed for a year with that one only I guess...

Holy crap, don't think I ever got a tree like that in my garden... I'm not really sure my DR150W (150x90x200) will have room enough to dry that big motherfucker ^^

Well, with the Snow Moon, Malawi PCK and 2 Grapefruit growing at a friend place (I gave him 20 cuts + 5 for another friend and me), I hope I’m stocked for at least half a year so I can grow long flowering tropical sativa indoor :). I have 4 cuts of Green Haze Malawi already in the greenhouse propagator, waiting for the roots then I start growing phase.

6 Orient Express were too much in that DR150W, 5 might also be too much considering how they might stretch, so 4 it will be. I want them to have space to develop nicely :)

I have a Tikal going indoors and everything else in my garden has been flowering for over 5 weeks except for the Tikal. Is there anybody else with this experience? Should I put it in total darkness to trigger it? Any tricks I should know?

I too have purchased Tikal (fem) seeds and I am planning to start some indoors very soon, I'd like to know the answer to the above question.
