Evening folks. Shot a deer for a friend of mine. He broke his wing so no shooting this season. Decent doe.
I shoot, and didn’t have to clean it. I like it!

Wife is sick sick sick. Baby is getting a bit better. Older boy is hacking his toes up through his stomach. I think I’m catching it now too. Hell yeah. I love being sick 😂

it is a cash crop tree around here and we will have them logged next year

we will replant with fir and cedar
That's interesting with the alder. I don't know about now but 25 years ago the forest industry considered alder a waste wood. I was in the process of starting a wood chipping business. After time I found that the product of wood chipping could be profitable. That included alder.

That and all the work involved...........
Agreed, the root balls are impossible for me to deal with with the equipment that I have. I figure by Midsomer I should have all the lumber cut up and burned, and then I’ll hire a gigantic loader and grab all those balls and find a place to put them where I won’t have to worry about it. I will more than likely take them out back into a low area where I can dig a hole to bury them. That’ll probably give me 40 yards a good clean fill… the rootballs are bigger than my front end loader
