the mighty z is back... welcome home bud

herbalistic--i was lucky enough to smoke the bolivian in question and it was the best thing i've smoked in a while, serious. very very euphoric for about 30-40 minutes. after several joints i nearly sank into the ground (but that may have been the large amount of alcohol i was drinking as well)... but the initial effect was really superb i thought.

zamalito you have any idea if it was highland or jungle that bolivian? could that potency be related to altitude? fuck man i hope not cuz i wanna grow it down here in the lowlands one day.

Thanks guys for the welcome home. I don't know yet if the bolivian is a highland or lowland. I think even if it is a highland it should do well in your location as long as it's from highlands that are not the altiplano.

The current manga rosa we sell came from a close friend who's a 54 year old singer from the northeast. He obtained it from a longtime friend who is an older herbsman also from the northeast. This is about as pure and authentic manga rosa as can be found.

Hell yeah!

Finally I bought myself a Digital Camera... here is a pic of my Hawaiian sativa X Celestial Temple Sativa (from Ecuador). As you can see, sativa genetics shine through... Soaring, stellar effects. Me and a friend smoked some yesterday and she had a bad migraine before. Once she took 3 puffs, her migraine was gone and we were flying very high! LOL

Colombian grown Killa Queen

Colombian grown Killa Queen

This pretty little plant was grown outdoor from seed at an altitude of 2,700mt under the equatorial sun in local soil and chicken shit(Colombian). The cured bud taste like ripe pineapple and she smokes like tropical hashish producing long lasting trip though euphoria. No burn out or ceiling, great "anytime" herb from beautiful South America.

I can't wait to see what those colombians of yours do in the blue ridge. Red,I think for some reason your colombian lines are far superior to anything anyone else is getting from the country. Perhaps the sierra nevada de santa marta strains are hyrbids, or perhaps the higher altitudes around you are producing better buds. I'm not sure but from the relatively few seeds you've cracked you've gotten some wonderful plants and made some amazing hybrids. I'm ecstatic to start working with those.

zamalito Mijo, how was Brazil??? Glad your back, the Colombians are waiting for you. I'm just waiting for you to come down and we'll do a little seed exploring. I got some interesting new leads just need a little backing to push it though. Good things are coming.

Peace from Colombia

Welcome back zam!

The one Brazilian I'd really love to get my hands on is the pure Leda Uno. The KC Leda has a pheno that is very short, compact and so dark it's almost Black, that is the Leda pheno and is as good a smoke as I've ever experienced, very, very potent, quite narcotic, earthy like a cigar, nutty flavours too. I reckon it must be a lowland strain like Colombian/Panama Red.

Hell, there are loads of S American lines I'd love to grow, just lots and lots!

I've got a really nice Cali IBL called Speed Weed that came from an old timer in the hills near Big Sur apparently. It's a Mexican strain adapted to Cali and may have a touch of Thai in it as some individuals have some Thai characteristics. I don't think it's a pure line as it has more variation, I think it's composed of more than one Mexican, my favourite pheno looks just like the picture of Oaxacan in DJ Short's book, the yield is really good and tyhe buds are really large, totally different from the Colombian Gold, doesn't form long, thin buds like a lot of sativas, they are more compact but very airy. Only real drawback is how long it takes to finish, the ones I have flowering now are at 18 weeks and will go at least 22. I've pollinated the lower rbanches of the phen that looks like Oaxacan with C99 pollen from an C99 male that was grown from F2s of Bros Grimm original stock, really looking forward to growing this cross out.

I'm also growing out a Colombian Gold x Grapefruitbowl cross that is looking really nice so far, puttign them into flower shortly. I will probably backcross to the CG.

I've just received some landrace Thai beans, some Cambodian derived beans, a sativa from Ghana called Jahwis Joy and some Ethiopian Highland, so as soon as my current crop of Ducksfoot and Mexican is finished, I'll be starting some more sativas. I hit the best Ducksfoot with C99 pollen too as indoors the Ducks also goes over 20 weeks. I never managed to get a Ducksfoot clone to root in my bubble cloner, really hard to clone but the potnecy is really good, sativa high but the yield is really good and the buds are really dense for a sativa, the densest sativa I've seen.

I sent some of the Colombian Gold x Zamal/Haze beans I made to a couple of friends and they both report that the seedlings exhibit amazing hybrid vigour, and are growing incredibly fast, I'll see if they can send me some pics.

Just to chime in here in case anyone missed these in the diary thread, but those landrace Thais are very vigorous once they get going!

I'll hopefully getting some of those Colombian Golds germed in the next couple of weeks, once I have some free space.

EDIT - sorry folks, but I meant to put these in the Sativa thread, not the south america one - blame it on my early test buds of the Ja...:)

All of those crosses sound like real winners! Especially the Speed Queen x C99 and the Colombian Gold x Zamal/Haze :yoinks: Keep us updated on those! There's not very much information available on the Ethiopian, it would be greatly apreciated if you could make a grow diary or something.

Hello, I've been writing a lot on the C.T.S. Here some pics of my cloned mother going into flowering since 1 week. I use the Scrog method since this strain respond well to bending and produce lots of bud sites.

The last 2 pics are from my other pheno. Slightly wider fingered leaves, strong skunky aroma, from the same Hawaiian X C.T.S. (Ecuador)

This CTS x Hawaiian savita pic is the most sativa leaning pheno. It has a citrus/pineapple aroma and is very discrete in odors. Ideal for people who are concerned with odor issues in their home.

long live to Ecuadorian and South American strains and landraces!

Can't wait to hear your description of the smoke paz!

Here's a few new varieties for this thread.

Here's my favorite brazilian variety the cabeça de nego. Sorry the pics aren't better.

Here's the sergipe manga rosa from the são francisco river valley. Unfortunately the man who tended to this line no longer grows due to interdiction efforts on the part of the brazilian government.

And here's some bsc colombian gold from santa marta.

There will be more info on the cabeça de nego on my article on Brazil which will appear in the next issue of international cannagraphic. It is an amazing strain. Though I disagree it is important to note that the afro-brazilians consider it to have originally come from the indigenous people of Brazil. I was also told that it is the ancestor of all of the other Brazilian landrace. They considered manga rosa and the various red and green sativas to be hybrids of angolan red and green sativas with the cabeça de nego. This is important to note not so much because it is true but because it demonstrates how highly this variety is revered. One of it's effects frequently mentioned was how it brought one closer to nature and god. It was also noted that it raises one's cosciousness. This is the preferred strain for scaramental use among afro-brazilians.

During my trip I acquired a very large amount (500+) of cabeça de nego seeds from the same batch as the plants pictured above. This along with the Redman Skunk are being fast tracked on the bsc schedule. I'm also thinking a purple Cabeça de Nego female X Flo or blue satelite male cross could be pretty amazing cross.
