Roughly translated as "The Walls of the Inca"? Many thanks for that name. I'll do some area research on altitude and climate etc. to figure out how to best treat my ladies this summer. If they'll germ at all that is. :D

Very pretty pics as well. Were you there on holiday?

A+ ! :bandit:

Non malheureusement, I hadn't the chance to visit Ingapirca, but would love to.

the weather is not too hot since this highland sits at an altitude of 3120 meters. Sunrays must be very strong though: high altitude and only 4 degres of lattitude.
here is a map of ecuador indicating the location of Ingapirca, which is indeed the wall of the incas. a few more pics added.

in the description of the CTS strain, it says that this landrace originates between the Andes and the Coast of the ocean. Well it's not too far from the description.

The CTS really sounds like a must have strain. I think I'll order a pack and give it a try asap. A short flowering time combined with a clean sativa high, what more do you need really?

Thule, I grown and still growing some Hawaiian Sativa X C.T.S. and I am keeping a cloned female with C.T.S. dominant genetics. under 150 HPS, in 10 weeks, I harvested 21 grams of pure sativa medium fluffiness buds. Boy this stuff rocks. No couchlock, very psychoactive, almost hallucinogenic (If you dare to smoke more than 6 puffs -- I've tried it). For a pure Sativa, buds are surprisingly large. Glistering buds like you would dream of. It has a earthy/citrus/pineapple aroma and flavor is very smooth and tangy. This is a keeper. My buds have been curing for 3 months now and I only need one puff into my pipe (a crumbled pinch is sufficient) to bring in a mood enhancer, feel good, feeling of lightness... Excellent stuff to get out and be active or socialize.

here is a tree with bell-like flowers beside the Celestial Temple. Cañar is the nearest city.

I am pretty sure that is a Brugmansia - though I am not sure what the local name will be, or which species in the genus, but I can find out

it's a potently hallucinogenic and narcotic plant - hallucinogenic in the genuine sense of "making you see things which aren't there"

it's very dangerous - contains scopolamine and such like, as with genus Datura, and is potentially fatal

even occasional low dosage use can, I believe, lead to liver cancer - though that may need checking

yeh it is Brugmansia sanguinea

this pic is great

Ngakpa - Thanks for the precious info on this flowering tree. Ecuador, actually, has a very diverse flora with more than 25 000 species present in the country, which represents approximately 10% of all plants in the world, although this country represents only 0.2 % of all landmass on earth. Viva el Ecuador and its own landrace, the Celestial Temple Sativa. Here is a closer look of the tree, with the "pirca" of Incas behind, surrounding the Celestial Temple, not far from Cañar City.

Well, you have guessed again... a pic of the Celestial Temple country side. I could just live there and cultivate some of its own landrace sativa! High noon sun all year long. Imagine the powerful buds growing under 2,3 degrees Lattitude sun?

This is it, I have made a little research on these flowers. Indeed these are Red Angel's Trumpet or Brugmansia sanguinea a.k.a. Datura. Highly toxic, Incas, before smoking the CTS ingested Red Angel's Trumpets to fly to the moon (or sun) as the temple purpose was made for.

a.k.a. Datura.

heya - Datura is a different genus - but pretty similar in many ways, including general effect and use

species in the Datura genus can be found in SA, NA, Europe, Asia etc.

Ngakpa ok thanks for precision on Datura -- Some people must get mixed with names and precise species. the next picture hum... What a nice bud... the photographer call it "Blue Moon", which is probably not the real name. It is supposed to bloom every 3 years. It is an Ecuador species, of course. Isn't it beautiful? If someone knows the real name, that would be appreciated. Not sure if this bud of flowers is smokable LoL

bartender - Brugmansias would not grow very high here in Québec, Canada... we have frosts in the beginning of October. No problemo, if I want one, I have all the knowledge on how to grow Ecuadorian Flowers (Celestial Temple Sativa, which produce by the way, soaring-psychoactive-uplifting buds). I'll buy myself a digital camera soon... you'll see some mean sativa 4-foot tall cloned female!

very nice pictures budelaire! thank you for sharing, do you live in ecuador?

here's a pic of a brugmansia that is near where i had some plants at a national park in the venezuelan andes:

the plants that were close by:

in the andes part where i am, the brugmansias are called 'campanitas' which translates as 'little bells'. i have a couple of friends that dared to make infusions with them... one of them tripped for over 2 weeks, at one point he said he could feel the heat emanating from light bulbs and that it was the devil :sasmokin:
in the plants of the gods book by schultes and hoffman, there's a pic of a colombian native next to a brugmansia tree, and there's a description and a note that says something to the effect that the use of this plant is only reserved for shamans who really know what they are doing, as the plant will play hardcore tricks on an user who doesn't have the required expertise.

peace!

Hi Paz, I'm pleased to read your input on South America's culture (and cultivation). I went to see your outside cannabis accomodation. Very creative and inspiring. As I read, it is also a temple! LOL. No, I do not live in Ecuador. I am a white french canadian living near Ottawa. I am planning to take some vacation and visit Ecuador and maybe Peru and Columbia. That would be nice to bring back some of your landrace beans. I am not sure if I would try a Brugmansia tea though... unless I want to morph myself into a Celestial Temple! LOL. Your second pic is awesome... Hum Sativas from South America, If they could sing, they would sing "We will, we will rock you" . Long live to South America genetics! I also love the Hawaiian sativa. I have the chance to grow a Hawaiian sativa dominant pheno clone at home. From what Federation seeds says, the Hawaiian genetics present in my C.T.S. x H.S. comes from the region of Mauna Kea in the Big Island of Hawaii. True or false origin? At the end, it does not matter, since the final result is pure stratospheric/soaring stuff!
