Here is my convoluted theory....
He honestly didn't expect to win the election (i don't even think he wanted to, but who knows) so he really didn't think it through all that much, regarding all this scrutiny/investigation.... taxes, charities, past business dealings etc.
Didn't think it through all that much or just felt somewhat bulletproof from living his silver spoon fed and shielded from reality life.... mixed with his narcissistic disorder and pathological lying, and his 'The Apprentice' character.... i think he was in a blur, and just found himself as president essentially.
Now that he is president, he probably feels no other option but to run again because the cat is out of the bag now.... he will probably be scrutinized for the rest of his days and staying president will shield him (somewhat.... maybe?) from whatever is headed his way.
Something like that....
trump has like 90% approval amongst republicans. of course trump 2020.

I agree completely. It was a TRUMP branding excersize that went sideways on him. As for running gain? I disagree. He'll say he has bone spurs or has fixed America so he can bail.
When nixon quit, he was going to jail, but Ford pre-empted the DOJ from formal charges, which were well on the way, like days away, with his pardon. If trump doesn't run, he'd better hope a republican wins or there will be no get out of jail free card. And no... he can't pardon himself. That's my dumb prediction.

2) Poverty — Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control — Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).
6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.
8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor
