The Haze Whisperer
"Swiss" Thai '82 is Green Hornet Thai '82.

https://en.**********.eu/strain-info/Thai_82/Green_Hornet/

From all accounts, it is serious gear.

Long out of production. Green Hornet is out of business.

I know that some packs exist out there, waiting in a fridge for the right time to be re-animated.

If the link above gets censored, check out seed finder eu

Nevil said it the 82 Thai was a nice Thai but the 78Thia is a lot more potent.

I don't want to sit here posting rubbishing bushy but putting up seed from other peoples work is a low act.

No one but bushy knows what was grown out if they were grown out side who knows what pollinated what its not like he was using controlled grow rooms to re produce seed.

The Haze Whisperer
I went read some grow reports from OJD forum on grows from things his made from what Nevil had sent him.

The things i read were all positive and people experiencing very potent quality plants.

Which is exactly why you really cannot grow Haze outdoors in New York...Not with any sense of certainty that’s for sure...You can use the outdoors but just not roots in the ground outdoors

Chasing The Present
Nevil was sick from cancer for a long time he became a very wealthy man and he achieved that with out selling a single seed.
I'm guessing Nev would have paid for the Harvoni vs starting a go fund me page if that were true a few years back, no? The Hep C was wasting him away well before the Cancer, wasn't it?

I guess, "very wealthy" certainly varies from man to man..... The thing though about talking for or on behalf of others, especially ones whom have passed on, its' senseless as only each of us can speak for ourselves - this goes for everyone and anyone.....

New Haze quality and creation, vs decades of arguing about things nobody will ever have clear answers for.... Attainable, quality and constructive goals - Them are lofty, Real

Do Bushy's MM x NH21 have the same problem as his MM x Thai? I remember when BW first put those lines on RGS and the Thai was called out for poor representation. Can't remember if the Oax or the NH's had the same issues...

There’s some general commentary in the Bushweed Seeds thread that the NH21 cross also had hermie issues (post #63). I wonder if the high # males in that individuals experience reflect some that may have been intersex (as opposed to true male). I’ve not seen any comments or info on the Oax cross.

Cheers

I know for a fact the f1s did not hermie what i am confused about is how he got that cross.

I know Nevil shared a joint of the 78Thai with bushy and his wife i also know Nevil did not share that cross because as he said it was giving the keys to the castle away.

That's right, the MM/Thai78 F1 wasn't a hermie-prone F1, I know because Nevil sent seeds to me during our collaboration when he was part of Auscann. Donald Mallard tried those too before and had similar experience. Nev and I exchanged genetics a few times, sent him several Colombians, Afghans, Pakistan and a lemony Oaxacan for his new works. Some of his latest strains were Oaxacan x Lemon Skunk and a Colombian hybrid from what I remember.

Nevil, 1:10
I did the L.SK x Oax and back crossed that to Oax again

You, 1:11
sounds like a nice hybrid

Nevil, 1:12
The L.SK x Oax is exactly as I expected
It nice when you get it right
indica fruit flavour

You, 1:13
nice, how long is the flowering time?

Nevil, 1:13
can't tell but early

You, 1:14
cool... so are you planning to sell some seeds soon?

Nevil, 1:14
no but it's the best I've done in 20 years

Nevil, 1:15
it took a lot of work to sort out the oax

In return he sent to me stuff like MM/Thai78, Thai78/Thai82, Nh21/Thai78, Nh21/Oax and Swiss Thai along others. But you are right, he never broke his word with you and mentioned to me he couldn't share the Thai78 because of that promise. He was an honorable guy after all. Nev told Bushy as well that he would never release certain seeds because they were too good and people would steal them easily. This definitely included the Thai78 as far as I know. This gives you an idea of how Nevil really was aside the bussiness, a true ganja lover. I've also received other seeds from Nevil via Bushy, before Beanz did the MM78 reproduction for him, so after researching on the message dates I believe they were all F1s since germination wasn't perfect either.

Anyway this are MM/Thai78, after re-examining all the pics I can say all were quite homogeneus both in structure and terpenes (as a true F1 should be), except for one thinner and later plant and another a bit more productive, firm on sex too despite I was warned about that and checking them often, all nice and quite productive and as Donald Mallard noted, hard to describe spicy woody unique smell, which resembled to me to the Thai phenos of the DTC99 and DTH in fact from years before, also an enjoyable energetic high:

This is the Swiss Thai via Nevil that same season:

I've sent pictures to John Greenhornet because it didn't look like the oldschool Thai I was expecting and he said they didn't really look like his Thais actually. We are receiving a different stock to compare with the originals as well, and John sent two new import Thais he sourced the past year for me to explore.

So IMHO Reeferman was either lying in order to make a buck or just growing something different to what he believed. The story on how he obtained this genetics is funny as well. Nevil said that apparently Reef and a company went into business together, they lent him money and eventually he took off without paying it back, but on the way out he snipped and stole a branch from the seeded Thai mother at the garden. Sounds like a nice story to me but he never seem very reliable on transparency or sharing the source of his seeds (like most), unlike Nevil by the way. He also mentioned Reef told him that Skunkman bought some of those Thai seeds off him for big money.

Maybe you are speaking about this packs?

Skunkman should have asked about those before instead, at least he could have bought some straight from the source and 100% verified haha.

Anyway John is still alive and well and doing his thing, focusing as well on his passion which is being a musician. I got to know him in 2013. We got on really well and even tried to motivate him in order to come back to the seed industry, telling him how legendary his company had became between a bunch of Cannabis snobs like myself! He also shared many info with me about how he started his company and the techniques he used. He's an US expat who moved to Switzerland for those who wonder, so not really from Switzerland.

We got on well and eventually John was very generous and gifted to me most of his seed collection, including 200 seeds from the released Thai82 along with another 200 seeds from the unreleased Thai82#2 stock. Which were just different more extreme flowering batches, a similar thing happened with the released Malawi Gold by the way, since only the most compact plants were sold. Unfortunately the germination was poor since they were 10 years already. Anyway we've been in touch and collaborating since then and hoping to release some seeds in the future perhaps. He was recently planning to open a seed shop in Austria and release seeds, but no longer under Green Hornet brand. He posted some pics from his latest projects like Very Berry Haze or Strawberry MKII on a different forum shortly ago.

Vibes.

My 78Thai came with conditions and one of them was it was to be never shared pure Nevil horned that and did the same with what ever Kanga shared with him.

I also know for a fact Nevil used the gypsy Thai in the first crosses then once he got Reefermans Thai the Swiss Thai he then used that as it was better. The last Thai he grew was the 78Thai and that was the best.

My moneys on no one got the 78Thia cross because Nevil told me he did not want others getting it as a F1.

I only found out bushy was selling lots of his lines after he past on so i could not ask him if he had sold or given bushy set lines but i spoke to the guy that was living with Nevil who told me how impotent the 78Thia turned out to be.

Nevil told me he would not sell the MMx78Thia he also told me the Thai reminded him of the Haze he grew out in Holland.I was told a lot more after he past on.

The 78Thia can take almost 4 months to show sex but i have not grown kangas MM but i don't see that being a fast finish line so 16week flower seams a bit unrealistic for a F1 of these to lines.

I have a pic of that cross grown by Nevil indoors.

Hempy I think he was given it under the condition he couldn't share it... (mm x 78)

So if that's the buds that get passed around Spain I definitely need to visit someday. Here in the US the only stuff you can get commercially available is cookies, chems, wedding cakes, ogs etc.. etc.. unless you grow it yourself and rare chance ever finding a perfectly sun grown sample like.

I can only imagine what those sun grown sativa's must be like. :abduct:
