An altruist with the ability to support 5 kids while setting up and running a charity [like you say you want to] and set up and run a business all at the same time.

If you really think social security is not as much a social program as medical care, you need educating. Do you even read and try to understand what I write? Or do you just go Archie Bunker when you see the word social? Where do you get that taxes are higher in Canada? They are not and less is paid by government per person [words dumbed down for you] for medical costs. Look it up.

And yet when one compares the tax and debt ratios per capita to other countries like Canada that already have operated programs such as Sanders proposes for years, we see a different story.

Canada's tax rate is virtually the same, albeit lower by a percentile or two. Her debt is 5 times less. The probable reason for the debt difference is attributed to the US military size and that she spends double on medical costs, despite supposedly having a free enterprise medical system.

There are many who criticize the Canadian healthcare system's efficacy but it appears to go toe to toe with the US one, except in Canada one can go to any hospital and see any doctor. [if willing to make the trip and wait]

Like in the US, those with money can go to a for profit doctor but why would they when the best operating rooms and surgeons are found in India, Mexico, Italy and Russia at a fraction of the cost.

All the hype about socialism is connived fear mongering. It is so unfortunate that so many believe it. On the flip side, some of the so-called progressive ideas are just as bad and just as heavily indoctrinated.

There is no reason to not use means tests such as tax returns to qualify people for programs rather than broadcasting everything for everyone.

Continuous population growth is required for these social programs to have long term viability. The side effect of continuous population growth is increased carbon and pollution. The side effect of increased pollution is less clean air and water. The side effect of poor air and water quality is increased health problems.

It's interesting to be lectured to by young folks on the environment. No generation in history required more cheap disposable landfill waste or energy. Millions of gadgets powered by toxic Lithium batteries.

Seems like well thought out solutions are not compatible with bullshit promises from politicians.

I do not buy that continuous population growth is necessary for a government funded medical system with sliding scale premiums to work. This system would be fluid and flex with [gradual] population size change.

I agree that the tech industry re; phones etc. is out of control. So long as I can get the latest Android to discuss the protection of the environment, I'm happy.

Thankfully there are some advances in larger lithium batteries which have them outlasting lead batteries by ten times.
