If Bernie is the Dem nominee this will be one of the primary attacks against him along with the "democratic socialism" label.
A candidate only has so much time to discuss what they will do for America. If a candidate is on the defense spending 30-50% of their time/energy explaining what certain words mean it's an uphill battle to win.
It's called math. I know it's not your strong suit. But try to keep up. Our federal budget is around 4 trillion annually. Bernies m4a alone will double it. Where does that money come from? Don't forget the military budget you guys want to eliminate will get you 860 billion (that's a complete elimination of any military, so no assistance to the UN, no NATO, no disaster relief, nothing) . You still come up over 3 trillion short annually, just adding m4a. That doesn't include almost 10 trillion per year for the green new deal, and 1.5 trillion to pay off the student debt. Throw free college and we quickly get to 20 trillion a year in spending. The funniest part is, their is no accounting for lost GDP, and tax recipients due to the inevitable recession.
As soon as Warren started answering questions on cost, her campaign tanked. Bernie is smarter, he's just refused to answer. Doesn't change a thing.

And yet when one compares the tax and debt ratios per capita to other countries like Canada that already have operated programs such as Sanders proposes for years, we see a different story.
Canada's tax rate is virtually the same, albeit lower by a percentile or two. Her debt is 5 times less. The probable reason for the debt difference is attributed to the US military size and that she spends double on medical costs, despite supposedly having a free enterprise medical system.
There are many who criticize the Canadian healthcare system's efficacy but it appears to go toe to toe with the US one, except in Canada one can go to any hospital and see any doctor. [if willing to make the trip and wait]
Like in the US, those with money can go to a for profit doctor but why would they when the best operating rooms and surgeons are found in India, Mexico, Italy and Russia at a fraction of the cost.
All the hype about socialism is connived fear mongering. It is so unfortunate that so many believe it. On the flip side, some of the so-called progressive ideas are just as bad and just as heavily indoctrinated.
There is no reason to not use means tests such as tax returns to qualify people for programs rather than broadcasting everything for everyone.
And yes mr D I know I am repeating myself ad nauseam with hopes of getting the point across. I do believe in math and science. [and humanity] It can work.
