sick stem, what to do?

Hi all! I have a little oldtimer haze plant (about 40cm) and it turns out that it fell and bent the stem. I tied her to a stick so she could recover (she had no injuries).

A few days later there were several days of rain and I left it outside for a long time. The plant loved it but the part of the stem that was bent turned brown and split open, as seen in the pictures. I applied aloe vera to disinfect and heal. From what I investigated it is an infection.

I already wanted to cut the plant in a few weeks but looking at the panorama I am afraid of losing it. My question is, is there a risk of death? Should I cut it right now and not risk it?

It looks like Phytophthora.
Try maybe a little H2O2 on cotton ball and clean it a little. Maybe it can help.

Some cloning gels have antifungal and/or antibacterial ingredients,I use Olivias and i put it on the spot where I clone. Honey is also something that keeps the wound clean

I would keep the wound open to the air and allow it to dry in the Sun. You can use a split ice cream stick and wire twisties for support. Keeping it covered will hold moisture and can cause the stem to disease. Also, water away from the stem by only watering around the outside edges of the pot until harvest time.

If something valuable take cuts. If it becomes botrytis, which happens when very damp, game over.

The plant is fine. If you have it, you can spray it with some fermentation made from sprouted hempseeds and sugar, and overwhelm whatever bacterium or fungus with good bacteria. Or disinfect the outside with some H2O2.

Other than that, just put plastic tape around it, and it will do just fine.

Long ago I tried to bend one of two Blue Mystic plants, and broke the stem, nearling breaking it in two. I was heartbroken, thinking I'd killed it. So I just wrapped plastic tape around it tightly, not even support, and it healed up and turned out the best of the two plants.

It's OK, just support it. My stems look far worse than that when I get to supercropping!

First time my buddy was super cropping, shocking ... amazing what those plants survived
He would break branches multiple times to transfer growth elsewhere
just a thread of cambium will sustain life

sulfur/neem oil, stop spreading of fungal infections walmart or hardware store if you dont already have some
like others said peroxide. alcohol or bleach may be on hand prob all effective esp bleach
If the infection moves upward make the decision to cut when necessary, rot could move thru the entire plant
A cutting or three for clones if the plant is valuable to you from the top most vigorious growth if needed
treating the wound may enable the plant to resist OTH is good against fungals

Since I graft fruit trees I usually have this around, lowes homedepot local hardware store
for what its worth
