Well, 'fruity tobacco' is often used to describe Thai weed, so it looks like we got that right! Obviously the cross isn't stabilised at all yet, so it's likely there'll be lots of different phenos popping out in this generation - for example, my friend here in the UK who has the bushy pheno in his garden says that it's flowering great, and looks to be keeping up with the short-flowering strains.

That's interesting, as nine or ten-week strains are about the limit outdoors in the UK without a greenhouse, but if it does finish, that's an amazingly fast sativa-dom hybrid! Good job I got a clone eh...? :)

And the Goldfinger male will leave tonight to grow out for pollen. Ironically I now have a spare, and can't get rid of it. None of my friends want males...:(

Oh Yah E-man, I can taste the Thai, but the Goldfinger is much smoother and richer/earthier than the Thai's I grew last year. Does that earthy flavour come from the Malawi? I believe I read that some African strains are known for that quality!?

The cross I made is going to be VERY unstable of course, but that doesn't matter. I am still getting a handle on things and dialing things in here!

The Goldfingers and Cali-O plants...

I think the earthiness may come from the Flo actually - especially if it was the #2 male, as it was a very small indica-dom, and those in female form tended toward the earthy chocolate/coffee - I believe this is also where the extra hot spicy flavour came from in my #1 pheno. The Malawi was much more fruit/carrot/honey/ginger area. I'm really excited about the range of flavours this cross might produce!

Check these sprouts in the live bud! I have 6 now in soil after performing an emergency caesarean section!

Wow..... First time I've seen that happen. Very nice pics by the way...

The rain won't stop! I have about 12 sprouts now all from that same plant! I check the plant everyday now for new sprouts. I have managed to keep them all alive so far!

I found another odd thing with one of these sprouts. I'll get a picture when the rain stops. The seedling has four leaves instead of two. I mean there are the two cotyledons and then four small serrated leaves...know what I mean? A picture really is worth a thousand words...

Hey there everyone. There is a problem now with the photo uploader. I have some pretty awesome photo's (well I think they're awesome!) to put up!

EM- The Goldfingers are still making new flowers! The Mg1xF1 are getting nice and thick. I think I got all of the sprouts out of her now. Cannabis live births! You saw it here first! I have a photo of a sprout that had dropped out of the bud onto a fan leaf during the last downpour!

Peace

The Cali-O I have is VERY Sativa! These plants are just getting into flowering gear now! I am guessing mid-December for these girls to come down?

Here is something interesting. Originally I thought that there were four separate leaves. Looks like the leaf has just split...I haven't seen this before...

Now the plant that was giving me live sprouts...I went out after a fairly heavy downpour to take some photos. This little sprout must have been knocked out of the bud during the rain...Again, I've never seen this before...

That's all from the Freaky Thai Garden for now

Peace

A snail got my seedling with the split leaves...:( I still have a dozen or so sprouts from that crazy baby spewing Goldfinger though!

I am preparing to make a switch here to using new organic nutrients. I have made my own again by using Effective Micro-Organisms and Molasses to ferment various organic things. I have brewing at the moment the following:

EM-FFE - Fermented Fish Extract. Using whole fish chopped. Molasses and EM
EM-FBG - Fermented Bat Guano. The original recipe I found online called for chicken shit. I modified it. I also added some rock dusts to this batch.
EM-FPE - Fermented Plant Extract. A collection of fresh green weeds and herbs, fermented with molasses and the EM.(morning glory, neem, lemon balm, ferns, hibiscus and a few other Thai plants that I do not know the name of...)
EM-3in1 - Fermented Insect Repellant. Contains chilli, garlic, and ginger. Fermented with molasses and EM
EM-5 - A totally organic pesticide. brewed with EM, molasses, vinegar, and alcohol. Mixed with 3in1 or FPE.
EM-SEAWEED - Basically same as FPE but with seaweed

I am brewing up a litre or so of each. Dilution rates are 1:500 for foliar and 1:300 for soil drenches.

I would like to do a complete EM guide one day. I am still learning. A while back I mixed up a seedling mix using EM. The sprouts I have in the special seedling mix are noticeably healthier than the others... The brews will be done at the end of the month, with the exception of the FFE which will be finished mid November.

I got started into all of this from links posted somewhere in the Organic Fanatic Collective thread.

Peace

hey thai, looks like your doing well. i love how the seeds are popping in the plant. now talk about fresh! i hope some of those are really special plants.

good to see you using the effective mirobes. let me know how that works out, im sure it will kick some major ass and produce some HEALTHY plants. i really like the fermented plant extracts, i know hibiscus should work well with the neem as a insect repelant. the chili garlic and ginger should do a good job as well. i think some mint would go good in that mix too, i made a mix recently with kelp and mint sprayed it on a aphid and mite infested plant, they were gone in a few days all of them.

Hey EM, I have video of the Goldfinger. As you know I burnt some (most) of the leaves and now they don't look so pretty...:-( Now I will be using that EM stuff and a good Neem product I found, so I shouldn't have anymore insect troubles!! fingers crossed. I left a few small buds on the Goldfingers. It looks like they are still putting on new flowers which is great. I hope the new seedlings will be around for the Xmas video!?
