Well the time has come now for some updates on those crazy little seedlings that sprouted in the bud. Some were eaten by snails, and some just died. I wasn't expecting youngones and had to mix together some seedling soil that should have had time to sit. The healthiest ones are the first ones saved as they got the good seedling soil I made using bokashi, many weeks ago.
Great stuff, ThaiPhoon! I really love what you are doing with the total organic soil grows here in Thailand. Thanks for sharing the awesome knowledge in your threads. I hope to be sharing some of my grow experience in Thailand in the future so stay tuned
Since I can't PM you (don't have the 50 posts) I am just wondering if you have had any trouble getting your seeds into Thailand. I just tried to order some Satori and other stuff from Mandala but now they no longer ship to Thailand. They told me because of "Customs control problems and the death penalty for drugs". But they still ship to Singapore. Hmm.., whatever. Anyway, just wondering if you have any thoughts on the seed issues into Thailand. I doubt very much that the Boys in Brown would be waiting at my mailbox, but you never know with this "government" as its called.. If I can get my seeds, then I can get started. I do have an unknown sativa from a bag of local stuff going, but who knows what that will turn out like. So far it's pretty puny.
Hi jaykush. I had culled two males already of the new cross. I think the ones you liked are still there! Good call!
ThaiMeUp. Another brave grower here. I have had seeds sent here without a problem. Packages usually take one week to arrive from Europe or US. The fastest time was 5 days from EastCoast USA! Chok Dee!
I was looking about for some Zeolite, and I have found something kind of interesting. Its a product called Super X.K. All of the writing on the bag is in Thai, so it probably isn't available outside of Thailand. It contains Zeolite and some other "clays" like: smectite and montmorillonite. Also some other elements Si Ca B Cu Mo Mn Zn... The product is a "fertilizer accelerator" I presume organic since it is just types of clay... I'm just not sure how much of this to mix into my mix...I think I'll add it at about 5% v/v...? anyone that knows about these types of clay maybe have some input?
I have an order of Azomite coming as well! So the next mix will have the azomite this zeolite clay stuff, and my bokashi going into it!
I will be growing out those seeds I have made until May or so, then I will plant some nice beans...
Here are a few shots of the 2 girls I have from the GoldfingerX(SDXOG)...These are some of those sprouts that I pulled out of the goldfinger bud. I have culled about 4 males already. There are still a few seedling that are much smaller/less vigorous and have yet to show sex. Jaykush, these ARE the two you had picked earlier! Great eye man!!
Here are a few shots of the Cali-o. She may be ready at the end of the month?? hopefully sooner!!
hehe thai, i told you i had the skills for picking out those special plants, must be a gift from mother nature for being such a good stoner. that cali-o looks great, id say close to another month maybe a little more if you like your stuff amber.
Yah jaykush, you are gifted! I went out to see the plants just a few moments ago. I found a little wee sprout growing in one of my rose plots...how the hell that got there?
I will wait another month or so. They are starting to smell very sweet now. A few days ago they were smelling very much like the Thai's I harvested last year. Now they are smelling BETTER!
Beautiful stuff ThaiPhoon, and great to see some Goldfinger progeny in action already! Who would have thought it eh?
If I can get enough of that Goldfinger pollen, I should send you some of that too. Mind you, a little parcel of off-white powder could be much worse than seeds in the mail...?
Here are a few more pics. The two gfx(sdiblxog) in the clay pot are still looking healthy. I am using the EM fertilizers I made. My EM fish emulsion was just finished yesterday. I fed it to everything except the Cali-O, which instead got that EM bat turd stuff! Azomite has also been added to the mix!
here's another gfx(sdiblxog)...Has not shown sex yet...there are 3 other runts around somewhere too...
Looking great, Thaiphoon. How did your fish emulsion turnout? If you can, please post that link on fish emulsions you mentioned.
I hope to have my seeds in a few days. Also making some EM concoctions myself. I have a a bunch of bananas, prawns and compost stewing. I heard it works pretty well for flowering. Will see in a few months.
This is a good foliar feed, acts as a tonic and provides Nitrogen to plants in slow release. The use on crops results in fruit sugar content rise and with constant application will help by supplementing photosynthetic bacteria and amino acids.
How to make EM-FF
Materials
o 3 % good quality Multi EM
o 3 % pure liquid cane molasses
o Clean water
Borehole drinking water
City water: containers with city water need to be left open in the sun for a day to get rid of the chlorine before being used.
o Temperature 20 - 25 0C is best (a range from 15 0C – 37 0C is acceptable)
o 10 % by volume crushed fish or fishmeal, preferably of blue skinned fish, e.g. sardines.
Preparation
o Fish or fishmeal (crushed or chopped 2 cm) into an airtight bucket or container.
o Mix Multi EM and molasses into (warm) water and pour the solution into the container.
o Close the container airtight, install breather pipe as with Multi EM if necessary (see diagram).
o Place the container into the sun. This is the only EM derivative to be placed into the sun for fermentation. This is done to especially encourage the photosynthetic bacteria.
o Stir the brew regularly to release the gas.
Good EM-FF
o It is ready in 1 month.
o pH is between 6 and 7
o Spray in a dilution of 1:1 000 - 1 500. If it is too smelly mix with 25 % Multi EM just before spraying.
Thanks to all those commenting and having a look...
Here is a shot of the dried Cali-0. I have had to take part of one plant down due to spider mites! I am having a hell of a time with those bugs. I thought I had got them all with the neem spray...Oh well, hopefully all of my new plants will be more healthy and resistant!
I am having very poor germ rates with the beans I made. I am trying to get the beans made with that mystery plant and JLP's sdxog to sprout! I have tried about 20 beans so far and have only a few germ...I haven't yet tried anymore GoldfingerXJlp's cross yet...hopefully they are a bit better!
Here are a few shots of the plants that are growing from the sprouts I took directly out of the buds. These are approx 6-7 weeks from seed!
Here is another Goldfinger X [SDibl x OG bx1] What do you all make of this? Is this a Trifoliate?
Your welcome ThaiMeUP...I am going to get me some Satori beans as well. I hear nothing but good about them! I bet they will grow awesome for your! I hope you post the grow for us all!
Peace
Edit:
Oh yeah, I moved that pot with the two ladies into a spot where they receive a lot more sunlight! Temps are a cool 14 Celsius here at night, upto high 20's during the day, along with low humidity now! Almost perfect conditions for them.
I also moved the last Cali-O out into a much better spot. I harvested the rest of that mite damaged one. I will let the remaining one go into the second week of December if she'll go!
