at church today i had a great talk with my mother about hemp farming and your farm specifically. remind me again, how difficult was it to get the paperwork in order for the hemp?

flooding the field again this week, planting more veggies in the field (corn, chard, arugula, cowpeas, carrots) ; plus herbs & flowers: comfrey, calendula, yarrow.

hemp starting to go in tomorrow or the next day - i think

full season outdoor will go in the ground this week also, still having some trouble deciding WHICH plants to do for the full season

would y'all believe i STILL haven't received that load of compost?
starting to seek other options, i guess

spent the early part of the day moving water in the field, got most of it sorted, getting good flow on the water across the field now and im confident in my ability to flood the soil enough to plant hemp seed.

spent the afternoon transplanting clones and big plants from 1- 3gals and 3-5 gals and cups to 1 gals
hung lights in the old veg room new bloom room... using 2x DE hps and 2x 315w CMH (got 2 new endomaxx's) - mostly going to be Legend OG in there but some other flavors as well including my cut of jager (which may actually be lonestar's killer queen, thanks to a possible mislabeling), sour D, chem 91 va/JB cut, cannatsu x gg4, power papaya (a bongathon competition strain, several growers all cut 6 rooted clones each and a limited time to grow them out, we will all link at a private party and judge the weed), probably a few others in the room.....

bongathon sounds dope. i cant wait to have access to stuff like that

it's a GREAT party

i have a pal working and staying out with us this week that is one of the big contenders in the "personal bongathon" event - one person, one bong, 7 g of weed; who can smoke it all the fastest.... dude can put down a gram of herb in a bong in less than a minute without even trying

That's freakon awesome!! If I smoked a g in a bong in a sitting, my lightweight ass would pull the whitiest whitey this side of the Mississippi

pulled loads of fan leaves of plants in bloom and veg; bent some branches on that big glue

about to kick up another breeding run...
got a few males to play with but i'm leaning toward a catpiss x moontang male that showed up in my most recent batch of seeds; also have a couple paonia bud x spaceship males im considering selecting from AND a grapestomper x bubba jam male that is promising.

some pics from the tent that is blooming under 6 hours of lights on and 18 off
picture.php

^ the cornbread side, also has a sour dubb and a remedy x good medicine
spider mites started to rise up on this side of the tent when the 1000w HPS was blaring full blast and creating a large hotspot in the canopy - so i have changed out the 1000w HPS for a 315w CMH for the last few weeks

picture.php

^^^ the nightmare cookies side of the tent, more healthy, fewer mites & no hotspot, still rocking a full blast 1000w HPS over this side of the tent

i feel like this experimental run is a good learning experience about blooming under fewer hours of light; smaller yield for smaller investment, i think with more light and better management of temperatures a good run could be pulled off with 6 hours of light and 18 off; but this ain't that run... plants are stinky and look alright (altho small buds) and some even feel greasy, but they have visibly less frost at this point

That 6/18 is very interesting. I run 11/13, and thought that was pushing it, lol!

Curious about the correlation of mites and wattage. I've never used higher than a couple of stacked 400s in an area, and still got mites, they didn't seem to discriminate between the 800W stacks or single 400s. They liked everything. Been free for a couple of years now, but they still keep me on edge, and I am a nerd about learning everything I can to blast those fuckers off the planet.

honestly i think it has as much to do with the hood as it does with the higher wattage, the space experiencing hot spot had plants same distance from the bulb as right next to it... same wattage, same distance from bulb but no hotspot, difference was ONLY the hood and the strains; ime mites thrive in higher temps, plants don't dig the hotspots they get weak and more susceptible to pests while high temps ALSO spike populations of the pests

I have one/two room set up with an A/C. I've turned the temps down on the A/C in the past when I've noticed that there was mite damage on leaves. Lowering the temperature in the room slowed the mites down way down. The mites didn't spread much beyond the area's where they where first seen.

When possible I like to be able to give all plants a 1/4 turn each day. I like to think that this helps to reduce hot spots since the plants get turned everyday.

one disadvantage of the soil beds is that i can't turn plants at all, i guess the scrog nets do the same tho...
