Do you recommend Coco?

There's Canna Coco over here, just use that or gotta be mixed with perlite too ?

I use coco bricks. Im using strait coco right now but recommend mixed with perlite. Canna coco is good too. I just got their ab food which is sweet shit. Since changing to gh my veg speed increased. Plants are even greener.

I recommend coco above all other mediums. Use a legit coco food for best results.

ok thats perfect. just came from the store and they have canna coco and canna soil.

I have the Biocanna line of nutrients, should I stick to a good soil mix then? or better get the Canna Soil (don't remember the exact name)

another question a little of topic but:

the 2 JAckie whits seedlings are VERY small and delicate.
I remember that Kali Mist seedlings also were like that, in contrast to indicas seedlings that are thick stem and stronger.

Is this a rule for sativas? or just I got weak seedlings?

Ive never tried canna terra but i love the coco ab already so why not? If you use their dirt why not use the corresponding food?

I use my local coco. Its dope and inexpensive.

My kali mist seeds were small but nevilles haze seeds nd lots of older haze seeds are huge. They vary.. Mandal satori has big seeds. Both mexican and jamaicn lines i grew were tiny seed

I think Canna recommends their soil rather than coco to go with BioCanna nutes. I've thought about trying BioCanna with coco and adjusting it with CalMag or whatever is needed, but Earth Juice works great and is a lot cheaper. Good luck. -granger

You are correct the biocanna line is recommended for dirt. However i see folks doing like you and making it work in coco. I thought about it but the canna coco is simpler and while i used to grow organic im content using hydro food. Ive found better results already with the canna over gh flora so theres something to be said for using coco specific nutrients.

Oh and i didnt see Erliqin asked about seedlings not seeds. Yes sativa seedlings are always more delicate than indica seedlings. The stems thicken later.
I have a couple new strawberry hazes i popped. One looks alot like the kali seedlings of my recent pack, the other very indica structure. The sativa dom one is way more wispy.

yeah my 2 jacky whites are very delicate and small, but they are getting stronger by now.

I will feed them with biocanna vega soon. :)

IAm getting the gear this week

Erliquin,
I'm interested in BioCanna and your results. Could you keep us updated on your experiences with it, please? Did you decide on coco or soil? If soil, which one? Thanks. -granger

sure. I will setup the tent b4 posting results.

My previous window grow was im summer-autum, Right now is mid winter and the window grow is slowish.. Iam keeping seedlings under compact fluoros by now.

Biocanna is pretty good, specially in the flavour/smell department.
Iam on soil right now. Dunno if going coco because of I already have the Biocanna nutrients wich were on the xpensive side.

hey so if you go coco use canna coco set. since my change my plants have been smiling at me thanking me. whele the biocanna may work, and i plan on trying it on a plant in coco in a gh coco grower later.
general organics and pure blend pro work in coco, while not 100% organic it goes to show organics and coco can work together.

erliqin, i have a copy of can fan and can filter pamphlets with all the info. would you like me to post pics here for you to see the info?

the can 33 is the biggest one id put in a tent. honestly id even consider using a 33 in a small bedroom grow, though i have a 50 for my bigger setup. my tent will keep getting a 33 for the foreseeable future for my 4x4 tent. even if i had a 5x5 id use it.

short of a gorilla tent, no tent on the market will hold a can 50. i can hang my 33 comfortable but my 50 would wreck my mammoth tent. lol i could hang off a gorilla tent myself. i plan on switching to gorillas eventually. ill keep the mammoth because i like it... still if i had a gorilla i wouldnt be hanging a 50 just to look cool, or be a overkill master... lol im running my 33 at 137 cfm, 63 cfm lower than its max and i cant smell a thing outside the tent.

Thats nice, yeah post it up :)

Really, I belive all the info from this thread. The thing is.. that I had never dealt with carbon filters, I don't know how efficient they are, only on paper.
The smell I had to deal with on my last harvest, was an insane no friendly smell at all, I think I've smelled that before with a stinky Sweet Tooth #3 blueberry pheno, but those Wappas went insane to a level I thought that my neighboors who don't know this kind of MJ dank smell could even think that I had a rotted, months old corpse hidded in my apartment ns. the smell was freak scary paranoid etc.

So I really can't belive that a small sized thing, will eat all that shit out lol. I belive what members tell me here, is just I can't imagine it. weird.

So I just placed the order today and it has been already shipped :dance013:

In the end I settled with this

http://growershouse.com/hyper-fan-6-315-cfm-phresh-400-carbon-filter-package

and this

http://growershouse.com/thermoflo-sr-insulated-ducting

Iam just waiting it to arrive, it will be shipped overseas so I think on 3 weeks the most it will be here.

I tried to get the best ducting, with the best filter, with one of the best fans on the market, those 2 being the most lightweight on the industry specially for tents, from what I read correct me if wrong lol.

I will get here locally the tent, and lights, timers.

I plan on getting this Teknifarm 600w digital ballast, any good?

ballast-electronico-mixto-teknifarm-600w.jpg

or this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-Hort...allast-/180860068054?var=&hash=item2a1c19a0d6

but of course I want a Solis Tek unit...

Can I fit any bulb with those digital ballasts or I need to avoid common bulbs?

Also the hoods that are sold locally I dunno if are compatible with the kind of connector those new ballasts have.?

im a gavita user. i own digistars the 600 watt digistar ballast was 200 canadian. solis teks are ok but a far cry from gavita digistar or pro. if you can afford it spend the bucks on the gavita.

its up to you what size filter you use. while you chose good stuff its pretty overkill for your tent. i get you dont really understand how filters work, not many people really do and just figure get a big one. im not going to break it down because its simple math, and that math is all over the internet. anyway you wont have problems with smell, and if you didnt mind paying more than its no loss. at least if you upgrade spaces that fan is good for a bigger space. yes you chose nice light weight stuff. theres no denying you chose a good set. wouldnt have been my choice though. i grow in the place i live, and my can 50 and max fan sound like a jet engine. lol good luck with your hyper. overkill sure is great when you cant sleep... i forgot to mention that factor. i hope your place is large enough the tent is far away from where you sleep.

oh sorry im not going to post that stuff as you already purchased a filter and i dont enjoy uploading pics here i always have a hard time. if you were still in the market it would be worth the effort, but as your not i dont have time for that kind of stuff.

well much luck with your grows later...

yeah thx man. I think the noise is a factor indeed... If that fan is way too noisy at half speed I for sure will swap it for somehting smaller and quieter.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZQmavFO8ss

at the 2:03 secs mark he shows that with its speed controller setting at 35% is quite enough. curious if is enough CFM for the filter.

CoCo's :

what about this one:

http://growershouse.com/gavita-digistar-electronic-digital-ballast-600w-240v

It's 240v, over here the norm is 220v. would work right?

Also, the bulb Agrolite Gro&Flo 600w will work with this one? (found locally)

Maybe I can get it with a bulb from that site.

One thing you have to remember is that the fan maybe quiet itself, but the majority of the noise you hear is the rush of air. Another is that your probably going to hang that fan and the filter like I do from the ceiling of your tent, so not only is the smaller 6x16 filter good enough to do the job but it will hopefully hang just fine from the top of the tent. Thoughts??

yeah I think the same, the combo is lightweight and the tent I found here locally isn't the best quality but I think it will be fine.

I'am crossing fingers this setup doesn't sound like a Jet turbine.

hey guys its been a while. The things arrived and now I have the tent setup and just tested it with the stinkiest plant out of my 3 sensi stars (blooming fast at day 20 12/12 window grow), 2 indicas and 1 sativa, the sativaish a haze resin smell, while the indicas the deep sweet indica smell.
The sativa one is the stinkiest. I only need to get the ballast, then I will move them to the tent.

The tent is 4x4x7, I placed the phresh 6x16 coupled with the fan hanging from the tent's ceiling, at the top, then it goes to a cool tube reflector, then outside to the window.

I just tested it, placed the stinkiest sativa sensi star inside it, turned the fan to the max, and is silent! it doesnt sound from the room next door where I sleep.
I can report that there's no smell coming out from the duct, period!
The inside of the teng is stinky skunk, where the air at the exhaust is clean complete odorless, it actually smells to new fresh.
I can post pics.
Now I need the ballast, already have ready everything else. it turned out pretty good.

update: one of my sensistars was a mutant, it flowered crappy without trichs and some random male flowers. had to remove it asap from the tent.

And about the tent, I have lower temps than I would like, had to turn back the fan to like 40% or less, the cool tube is overkill inside the tent, at least those late winter days. not so like in summer but at least now. I like higher temps inside. The other 2 are doing great, the biggest and the smallest.
One is a killer indica and the other a sativa. (WTF). It smells like Nebula sativa.
