Go big, at least 6x24 or larger, I have a 6x20 Mountain Air for my 2x3x5 tent, overkill is underrated.

what CFM is pusshing? its a 30 sq feet space.

In the end I dunno what way to go.

The smaller filter with better fan is more expensive than the big filter with average fan.

And the smaller filter and average fan costs only 20 dollars less than same setup with full 6x24 filter. fuk me lol

also can those filters be placed outside the tent while cooling down the refletor and pulling hot air from the tent? the hot air will harm the fan?

or is better to place it inside the tent, to pull air trough filter then push trough the reflector?

If a smaller setup is only 20 bucks cheaper money is no longer really part of it unless you are really that cheap.

Sound is my concern. In Imy situation.

Its up to you if you think you need a overrated odour system but i can tell you i dont need overkill, and it will be a detriment if its too loud or sucks your tent tight, or any of the other issues i encountered using a overrated systems. If you want to match your intake cfm so your tent dosemt suck tight, theres another fan, yay more money down the tube.

Theres lots of ways to setup tents. Helps if you understand light, air and airflow, water, man the whole package.

In my area gear is more expensive. Yay canada, its a ripoff here.

ok man thats perfect.

the currence change makes canada expensive.

well, Iam not in North America so gotta pay big $$$ on shipping.
thats another factor on getting the biggest filter.

Iam sticking to the cheap loud fan. I think I habe ti decide:

22 extra bucks and go 6x24, or save 22 greens and go 6x16.
bith with a 435cfm fan. there are no cheaper good fans.

the sound level is more to sleep good than for security.

southamerica more likely.. there are lots of growshops but none carry the real brands on bigger filters and better fans. found a Piranha tent that comes with standard reflector and 600 hps. its ebay quality but i thonk i can be fine with it.

Basic rule of thumb for fans/filters: fan cfm should be less than filter cfm rating. If you go with the 435 cfm fan on the 400 cfm filter, you'll need the fan speed controller to lower the cfm that the fan draws thru it, or the air won't get scrubbed for long enough to remove all the smell. -granger

yes, growerhouse provides a cheap speed controller:

its on the add on list, but I dunno if it will create a humming noise when lower the speed though.

Humming is possible, though you only need to cut speed a little. That's why I'd go with one of the other options. Good luck. -granger

Thats right. The hyper is more powerful than a can fan. I love ca. Fans, have a 6 inch max fan. Its sweet because it features a speed controler. Its a light plastic body fan (in this case plastic is fine) thats powerful and quiet.

I do like my 4" sp tho. Shes very queit and ideal for my needs. No sense in over complicating tents. Ive done it, forget it...

just quoted the can fan max 6", its a tad cheaper than the hyper.

Will I need to buy a separate speed controller?

or it comes with one good enough to slow it quite down?

I've run a Can 33 and a Phresh 6"x16" in a similar space with no odor issues whatsoever.

And it's true you can never go overkill on your filter, just what I could afford at the time, and they worked out great.
