Yes, planting in the soft spot is a favorite past time of mine!

I also appreciate the work involved in replanting logging areas(is that what you meant by "tree planting up north?), I have personally replanted most of the Douglas Fir and Pondarosa pine we log off the family ranch, that is lots of work on steep hill sides!

Which country are you from originally? Norway, Sweden?

Your plants seem to like their soft spots, very healthy!

sweden...
regarding the treeplanting, i had a good time around the skeena valley.... all kind of trees were put in the ground. really hard work, i loved it but realised that it isnt the greatest carrier in the end...

lots of mosquitos.

my plants are doing pretty good, but the last batch of rain did a little number on the fertilisers in the ground, all the latest growth is lighter green, and the leaves thinner. there is also a lot of flowering signs allready, i hope they will still get a bit of a stretch before they just fill out.

several of them have allready turned into bushes of ten to thirteen heads, seems to keep short too, we will see

i think that they will get a bit of 5-2-2- mixed with the morbloom from alaskan and a shot of molasses just to give them a nice little push on the way to bigger better buds.!

talk to you later!

We got a little rain this AM, could've used more though as far as I am concerned. As a guerilla grower, you'll be the only person you know who is hoping for rain in the PNW summer!

Berger, those plants on the top photo look funny, but I cannot tell from the photo what is going on. You are getting floods? We had a shitload of rain in July, I don't think I have ever seen it rain that much in July in my entire life here (which is pretty long). I hope they are not lost. The rest look very nice, look like a greenhouse. Stay green

The results are in................... we had a half inch of rain(down this way) in July, none so far this month, and since there is a 1% chance of rain for the month of August here(according to weather records), I'm not expecting any soon.

BC so how many times a week do you have to water them yourself? Do you have a chance of rain in September, or are you going to have to water them yourself then too? I know it is hard to predict. We do not usually get much rain up here in July, and September can be a coin toss.

im enjoying a sunny august! plants are doing great!

i lost a plant when bending over the ones that were too close to eatch other, it snapped even though ive done it so many times before, actually four got damaged, but they all seem to have recovered, propped up as they are.

Stoneshaper- sorry to hear about the accident with training your gal, iv had that happen where huge branches have snapped off while i was trying to bend them over... i had to wrap them up real well and stake them up.

glad to hear your other plants are doing well and hope you pull a nice bit of smoke!

Keep it green and sticky guys and i hope to see more people stopping by to show off their ladies :joint:

I water every 4-7 days, depending on how warm its been, and how the plants are doing in the specific plot.
HM1, 2, and 3 usually get hit every three to five days, HM4 usually gets by for a week due to the heavier clay soil at that location.

Here are my rain averages for the drier part of my season:

July- 0.73"
Aug- 0.52"
Sep- 1.05"
First 2 Wks of Oct- 0.42"
Keep in mind these are averages from 30 years of weather records, some years we have not a drop in Aug and Sept, and some summers the temps are horrendous all season long.

September is alot like August, with lots of clear, dry days. The big difference is the temperatures, my average high for Aug is 90.5F, my average low is @60F. As September begins my avg highs are @87F and avg low is @53F.
As I leave September my avg high is @80F and avg low @46F. Generally as the temps taper off, so does my frequency of watering, especially durinng cool/wet Septembers. Often by the end of the month my watering trips are more just for checking out the crop for fun.
I can't remember ever watering in October.

So far, this is a pretty average summer here, the closest to average I've seen. Compared to lots of recent summers, it has seemed cool and wet to me personally, especially after the much warmer and dryer than normal May we had, I was sure we were setting up for a extreme dry/hot summer.
