We have another 1 to 2 inches of rain coming today and tonight! Should be enough to work in the fertilizer! Getting lots of sunshine too! I expect wonders! Every day counts! Looking forward to harvest! What do you guys do with old harvest you don't want anymore? What do you recommend, butter and freeze it, more hash which I don't smoke, I could eat it but there's some mold in it. I have some friends who use it as medicine. I guess when it comes time to empty the silo, they will be getting the help they need! Theres still some from 2015 and its still effective medicine! Been burping the jars every month.

John 3 New King James Version (NKJV)

The New Birth

3 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Hi everyone l hope you're all well.
I really enjoy your thread each year Pipeline and l thought I'd chime in and tell you what l do with my older material.
Personally l like to give it away to people who need it and make it into medicine.
My favourite is to turn it into topical rubs, with coconut oil and an aquarium heater, set at about 29 degrees. I give it to my older friends with ailments such as muscle complaints or arthritis, sometimes l put a bit of epsom salt in it too.
I tell them it was given to me by a friend, to give me that degree of separation and l find it a very gentle way to introduce people to the healing benefits of the plant.
There's no greater advocate for the end of proabition than a nanna who's out and proud.
I'm wishing you all the very best for your season and the rain to come when it's needed.
Cheers,

All parts of the plants except the stalks are useful to me. Everything (Buds, leaves, small stems) gets ground up and turned into edibles. I also like seeds... You can never have enough seed stock. As for mold, I just cut it out and use the parts that aren't brown or moldy. I'm expecting it to be an issue with all the rain this year.

Oh boy! Reality check! I wonder how wet fall will be? They can take rain, you just have to do inspections. I will make sure to not let them pollinate too long. Seed production can lead to mold issues.

I will cook with the extra old jars. Will inspect for mold and cut it out. Makes sense.

Hey 40degree! Thanks for the tips! Do you strain it after heating and stirring? My neighbor could possibly benefit from a topical application.

I will probably turn it into edibles! Mmmm I make a great hemp seed powder and whole wheat bread! Will also be making oatmeal, cookies and brownies! :smoke:

I know letting them go to seed increases the likelihood of mold. Never had a problem with powdery mildew (knock on wood) but the Botrytis shows up early in flowering for me. I see those little brown spots on the leaves before I see any mold on the buds. This year I will be passing on seeds though. I've got a good supply and don't want to sacrifice yield and risk mold with the smaller number of plants I'm running this season.

Careful with smoking moldy buds, you don't want those spores down in your lungs. Edibles aren't as risky. Last fall was fairly wet for us, I'm hoping the clouds get all of their crying done now and calm down for summer and fall. I haven't been able to go camping yet cause it has rained nearly every weekend this spring!

Awesome plot mate. Are these the Deep Chunk crosses you've mentioned in other posts? Great work in any case, DC is one of my all time favorites, hope these all turn out very well man.

Hi Pipeline!!
Yep l strain it, l like cheese cloth because you can screw it up tight and reuse it. I tried this once with one of those blue kitchen clothes but it burst.
It doesn't seem to matter how long it steeps for, the longer the better, as in days. The gentle heat doesn't degrade the cannibinoids. Other oils also work but l like the coconut because it solidifies at room temperature.
I sometimes put some essential oils in for people who are worried about smelling like pot at work or sophisticated dinner parties (you can't really smell it though) but l did have someone once declare that it was the lavender that had cured them??
I've done a similar thing with alcohol and excess, dried, plant material by filling jars with trim and covering it with alcohol. I left this for about a month before giving it to a friend, for one of his friends who's ailments had left them, basically, bed ridden; l can't remember the exact details.
I got a message back that they wanted more, which is obviously the best sign that it's working and my friend told me this lady had gone back to part time work and was able to love her husband in that very special way again, something that hadn't happened in a long time apparently.
I realised that the plant had not only healed her but the whole family, it was a very powerful realisation for me.
Cheers,

Thanks for stopping by guys!

I would have thought burning the little bit of mold spores get rid of it and make it safe. :smoke:

Thanks Brother Nature, they sure are! Its its own line now. Trying to refine it. Its fun to make seed. I was doing open pollination, and not really selecting seeds specifically. I may plant a few from a good bud, and the line started getting weaker it seemed. So I had a few choice flowers to move on with the line. I can always go back. I like the sativa candy spice, but I'm hoping to bump up the indica influence for resin quality and also flower density!

Would that help with muscle soreness/fatigue or is it more for joint or skin relief? I have really dry hands in the fall and cbd helps. I wonder if topical thc medical cannabis is effective for mild dryness.

Hoping to hear some thing from Hill Temple Collective soon. They are working the line for use in breeding projects! :smoke:

John 1 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Eternal Word

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.
John’s Witness: The True Light

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That[b] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Thanks! Its so variable, its really hard for the weathermen to predict! Looking forward to it drying out a little bit! Plants are doing fine though despite having a little excess water with it being so wet. Soil moisture is high right now! Plants are going to be at potential it looks like! Trust in the Lord!

Got a couple more shots before bed. Will share some of the others later!

Welcome to summer! :smoke:

Hi Pipeline and everyone, hope you're all well.
I don't really want to recommend that it will work for any ailment because I'm not a doctor or trained medical practitioner but l will say that the coconut oil on its own has healing abilities and penetrates the skin because it's such a thin oil. The alcohol based version has a drying effect and evaporates quickly, leaving the residue on the skin for adsorption.
It really is quite amazing the beneficial, healing effects of the plant and the wide range of ailments it can help. If you do decide to try it on your hands I'd love to know if it helps.
No one can loose anything by giving it a go.
You must be excited working with the Hill Temple Collective. Is that headed up by Tom Hill?? I owe that man a huge debt of gratitude.
Cheers,

Yeah Hill Temple Collective has some solid genetics. Its not owned by Tom Hill though, OG Bub is who started it. He's been quiet for the past few years. Last year I did talk to him briefly. Not sure whats going on. I reached out in a PM a couple weeks ago an haven't heard back.

Do you have any recipes or ratios you recommend to make the coconut oil. What do you use to heat it, just a stove set on low?

Thanks for stopping by! :smoke:
