Rained when I got in the truck and started heading home. I was done and back at the truck at 4:20 AM! Getting some good light rains today with sunshine mixed in! I expect to see wonders! Backup flat is emerging! Stay tuned! Don't blink, life is good! :smoke:

Looks like you got a nice area that's sandy to help aeration for your roots, I bet they grow like crazy in there?? Do you mix much into that plot you started?? Are there a certain number of plants you wanna put in that plot?? Sorry if I missed it

Gotta love night time operations... Looks great pipeline! I think I may have asked you before, but what all do you do to the soil at the plot to prepare it for your plants?

Hey there friend, hear we go again lol.....its outdoor time!!! I'm trying to get some transplanting and outdoor work done but my wife hasn't been feeling well and I'm having to help her alot until she's feeling better. So im kinda dragging but getting a little at a time done. You got some nice trays, do you got them in rapid rooters or you just start them all in the tray. I like to start about 20 at a time. It seems like my shop light and table fit about 20 ....so that's what I've been doing. Good luck and we'll be bumping into each other alot. I'm 34days indoor flower and finishing that up is priority#1, and I'll be on the outdoor threads alot more. Looking forward to your grow, did you say your running a Deep Chunk xs or something I thought you said last yr??

Hey WVKindbud! Its good to see ya again! Sorry to hear about the Mrs., hope she gets feeling better. I will pray you! Here is the Deep Chunk Project thread I started to track the breeding going on.

:::::::Deep Chunk Playground:::::::

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=354910

Got a little project we're working on around here! It all started in 2009. I had a Deep Chunk male and several Deep chunk hybrids that were ripe for preservation. There were several lines grown and pollinated but only 4 were brought through to 2010 and beyond. So in 2009 4 deep chunk hybrids were pollinated with a deep chunk male to make these starting points for the project.

Planted in 2010:

(SFV OG Kush x Jamaican Jam F1 '07) x Deep Chunk)) x Deep Chunk
(Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk F2 '07) x Deep Chunk
(Sour Bubble bx3 x Sour Bubble bx4) x Deep chunk

(Bubba Kush x Bubblegum) x Deep Chunk

Seed was produced from 2010 plants through open pollination always using more than 1 pollinator/male. Each year the line has been preserved using multiple males and open pollination. Individual plants have not been separated at harvest, but some selection pressure was used in seed selection for the following year. Good quality resin flowers had seed saved separately for planting.

Last year in 2017 Sativa candy spice and house indica phenotypes were separated out at harvest.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not using rapid rooters, just planting flats like we did at the nursery. Being sure not to over-water is a key to success. Just moved them under the overhang before a storm front came through. Been blessed with plenty of moisture lately!

The plot is mostly loamy clay soil, and is near a wet part of the field, so its self watered! Usually plant around 50, and that worked out well even with it a little bigger! Have some backup seedlings that just came up, so it may end up as much as 98 if they all came up and survived.

Hey Justsometomatoes! Yeah I will miss the adventure of growing once legalization goes through. Its nice working at night actually. Its a lot cooler.

I like to wait until May to dig and prepare the area for security reasons. Once the foliage grows, out, the garden is more hidden. This is a simple solution to help keep us all safe. The only issue is, when the rains come and the native brush starts growing, the ground is usually a little wet to work. That's how i got so strong! Dig a garden like that all at once every year, you will become stronger and stronger! The plants don't seem to mind, the soil is just dry enough to work. But it took like 6 hours to do all that after working all day, and hiking with my friend and his kids. I got up early this morning, went to church and I came home to rest! I'm just recouping today!

The entire area was dug out and fertilized with Garden Tone organic fertilizer and amended with pulverized dolomite lime. Its a lot of work especially when its wet, but we get it done right. On a 3x3 area I use 1.5-2 scoops ( 2 cups per scoop) of a box turtle upper shell I found about 10-15 years ago when I was looking for a growing spot. The turtle shell was right there where the spot needed to be! God is with us, my friends!

Use a little dolomite lime about 1/2 cup on a hole that big, just dust the soil. I have never done a soil test, but lime is a good idea with organic fertilizer which builds acidity as it breaks down.

I bought some commercial ferts 12-12-12 that I'm going to amend soil used last year to grow with. I still need to get a calcium and micronutrient supplement. Does that garden tone have the micro-nutes in it or is it just NPK? I saw something like that at a garden store and almost bought it, but realized it has bone and feather meal in it. Learned from that mistake last year and all the critters in the area went on a digging mission.

I have really had minimal issues with animal digging. Its the animals that cut the stems that seem to bother us. Yeah its a great fertilizer that covers all the plant nutrient needs! Its all I use!

Champion Male

Looking forward to the progeny from this male and the sativa candy spice! I plant to breed these with the plants from the high flower density plant. And voila, a valuable genetic resource... Need to donate some to the server fund! Sorry its taking so long guys! Sounds like there has been some interest in the line. Anyone hear from OG Bub at HTC lately? I will try and reach out to him. I talked to him within the last year or 2. He has been well when I talked to him! He's got projects going from my lines! :smoke:

Hey that deer and rabbit repellent worked good last year for me, have you used it before?? Man it stinks like no other but it kept the deer outta mine and I planted near a thicket and deer trail. Ive used that dolomite for yrs also, I recently ran out and switched to the powder dolomite. That's something I won't start without, dolomite

The Parable of the Sower

4 And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded [e]a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Love being outside this time of year. Get to see all the pretty things! Its neat watching the dogs get excited about spring and go out early to hear and see all the pretty things. They know whats important. Behold, the creation of the Lord Jesus, the one true and living God! Its amazing to be a part of His presence and grace!

Planting will for sure be this weekend! Lots of work ahead! Will probably make the plot a little bigger and moved out toward the light. Got a flat planted on the 14th for extras and starts for my brother's medical project if he grows this year. Have a good weekend brothers and sisters!

Got few views today. Pics were taken this morning and this evening after a late afternoon rain. They are growing up fast now!

Be blessed! Enjoy!

Thanks! I think part of the reason they are so large is there is less of them. Had 2 plants that were this pheno, and they were slower to flower. The flowers were just big enough to pollinate when I cut the males, while some of the other plants' flowers were close to marble size. I had to wait on the champion male to flower too. Good things are worth waiting for! The best crosses are not necessarily the earliest flowering plants. Makes good herb more elusive. Listen to the plants. Be taught by God! :smoke:

John 8:31-36

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, 'You will be made free'?"

Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
