She's got to grow that tap root down about 4 inches before she gets to the soil below, but I don't think that should be a problem for her.

It is an Autoflower, and they like to drill their tap root straight down until they hit bottom anyway.

As long as I don't rip the root off when I pull it out to look at it.

I'm having real problems with LIFTA with this experiment. Lol

I think just adding water is better. Once root starts growing hairs you will pull them off each time you lift it. Also there is risk to break it. So.. maybe try to not move it as much to give it most chances.

Yeah, You're right.

I'm going to try to leave it alone now.

She's starting to shed her shell now.
All the more reason to leave her alone.

It was good to see that the root looked healthy though.
There is air getting down to the root.
The seed isn't fully plugging the hole.

I'm putting a few drops of water on it every couple of hours to help keep the shell soft so she can shed it easier.

I couldn't stop playing...

I made a pair of helmut removal pins and took her lid off. Lol

She's all naked now... lol

I think I might throw some heat at her..

She may need some sort of incubation ???

It's still pretty cold around here.

I messed around with a bunch of ways to apply some heat, but everything was looking unreliable and maybe dangerous.
(if I drop a bulb in the drink,...)

So I scooped out some water and warmed it up in the microwave then poured it back into the reservoir.

I'll try to do that a few times while she is incubating.

I thought about doming her, but the last time I domed a plant, I got mold.

The surface if the "soil" of my SIP container was all fuzzy with mold, so I churned it under.

I don't want to risk a dome.

There be mold and spores about...

I've got bugs crawling around in my window plant...

20210427_100046.jpg

I think that they might be Springtails, but they appear to be bigger than the Springtails I saw in my closet plant.

I'm not going to worry about them.
I figure that they are harmless and they may help to provide nutrients to my plant.

The plant looks fine.
She doesn't appear bothered by the bugs...
