Grew up on Sonny's BBQ, the majority of them around here have closed down. Williamson Brothers is pretty good but pretty pricey imo.
Haven't had good BBQ in awhile.

i notice the best bbq comes off my own grill
a good meal for two is easily going to set you back $$$ and im like i could have made this myself at home for less

i can grill steaks better than i have ever been served. but i don't think i could come close to some of the bbq i've eaten. "a man has to know his limitations" i bow low to the bbq masters of the Universe!:bow::bow:

Same here. Did my first one in my electric smoker a few months ago. I bought 3 since they were on sale so I have 2 more in the freezer. It was pretty damn good and super easy to make.

I just got a Big Green Egg too, so I'm gonna have to try that for the next one. The lump coal gives a stronger smoke flavor than the electric smoker so I'm sure the Egg's brisket will be better. I'll try to post some pics.

Here's my first one. I followed advice about putting it at an angle so the whole thing would fit in the smoker. It worked pretty good and was easy.

Here's the pork butt I did on the Egg last month. I love BBQ so I'm trying to figure this shit out.

I have thoughts about 'good' BBQ.
I used to be a judge, but found it WAY too political. I don't care about presentation, I'm looking for the smoke ring and taste/texture.
There is a long tradition of using sweet sauce to hide poorly cooked meat. Carolina BBQ with vinegar and red pepper flakes(with some black pepper, salt is a given) for the win. I don't want to hear that brown sugar crap.
Electric BBQ is an oxymoron.
Ya need a wood-box and good air-flow to the cooking container(55 gallon drum). It matters how tall that chimney is. Low and slow. Don't 'inject' that meat. You aren't fooling anyone.
Don't underestimate proper 'bark' and serve the sauce of the side. I'm a grown man and can decide how much or little sauce I want.
Not telling anyone how to live their life but eggs are for grilling like my Weber. A decent smoker isn't that expensive. Be prepared to stop some leaks. I use my neighbors and his wood, just have to split it and share the product. :tiphat:

You guys ever try that white BBQ sauce? Think Memphis folks get down with it!
Never been to crazy about it but only tried it a couple times.

Have a little side of Mayonnaise dressing salad with the BBQ.
Red onion, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, little lemon juice, Kraft mayo or Hellmans would work. Mix it all together and put back in fridge until cold and shit it amazing.. 😂
No salad dressing, just mayo...that's some southern shit right there.. 😂
