I keep seeds at room temperature in an airtight container and that has done fine for me with 8+ year old seeds. I think if you're gonna freeze 'em you gotta make sure they're not gonna die through constant freeze/thaw cycles

Half my seeds are green.

They really are crap. Lol

I didn't even know my plant hermed and made seeds until after I trimmed and jarred it.
I poured the buds out to dry up more and a few seeds fell out of the jar.

I ended up finding about 170 seeds. Lol

Yeah immature seeds won't germ. Now that I look at it, those seeds in that cup aren't mature. Try to find the darkest seeds you have.

The darkest seeds are the only ones that sank.

The green ones are floating.

I stirred it again and a few more dropped.

My headless sprout is hanging on but it may be just dying slowly? Lol

I got one seedling sprouted.
It was the only one that actually cracked open.

I'm not seeing any cracked seeds in the cup yet.
Most have finally sunk.

She's in the shot glass now.

I intend to leave her submerged for 2 days or until she cracks.
Then I will drain the excess water and let the taproot grow.

I used distilled water PH'd to 6.3.

Bellybutton up.

It's been 48 hours so I checked my seeds in the cup and none of them had cracked open.

I decided to throw everything out and focus on my final CandyCane seed.

We'll see if I can get it to crack.

It's not really about seeing them open in the water though, that is just to get them wet. After a few hours of soak they sink to the bottom with a little tap. That's when most people take them out of the water. I'm pretty sure oxygen is required for germination.

^ True. Seeds need air just as much as they need water. That's why I use paper towels to germ my seeds, so they don't drown.

Take a paper towel, soak it in water, wring it out gently, and then carefully place a seed inside the fold. in 2 days it should crack.

Well, I went with 16 hours submerged and then dumped out the excess water.

There's about 1/4" of water at the bottom and a nice bubble of air that's open to the top of the glass.

I used paper towel and distilled water.

I think it's pretty much the same idea as the regular paper towel method but I think it can breathe better.

Has your stuff arrived yet? What takes so long? Is it normal in canada?
edit: Oh, it must be because it comes from overseas

Yeah, it finally shipped with a tracking number three days ago.
I don't know how long it will take to get here.

ReikoX mailed me some seeds too.
We'll see what gets here first.
