So I got this , I think it may have been @moose eater who gave me the idea but maybe not. I use sterilite storage bins for curing. The one's with the claps and the foam gasket work best. So I'm lazy and don't have the time to trim and jar all the weed so fast. I just dry it on the sticks and then put it in the bins sticks and all to start my cure. It works great I take my time trimming and processing and no burping all those jars, just one big bin . it really takes the stress out of harvest. I finish my cure in the bins vacuum seal in bags whenever

I've used something similar to those with desiccant in the bottom and hardware cloth in frames sitting above the desiccant to dry psilocybin mushrooms, but I haven't cured weed in them.
I once used a similar set up as my mushroom 'rapid drying chamber' to remove a trace of excess moisture from buds when someone was in a rush and in from out of town, maybe 20+ years ago.

You won't be disappointed just make sure you get the ones with the clamps and the foam seal
Thanks for the tip, would make it easier. I think oxygen depletion is part of cure, but maybe its more about slowly drying out that last little bit over time, which helps keep the resin full of moisture and protected from terpene/potency loss.
High humidity until tuesday, and taking their time to dry, so going to start baking and using the stove with the house somewhat sealed up. Don't have a dehumidifier. They are above the cupboards anyway, so its warm up there. Have fans going for circulation.

As I understand it during the cure that I believe can be up to 6 months you need air but don't want it to dry out. After the cure for long term storage no oxygen is optimal .what do you use to deplete oxygen? I've heard that some people use hand warmers for dry food storage. Another technique is to displace the oxygen with nitrogen gas , that's how they store apples .

When mine are just right for long-term storage, I seal them in two layers of Food Saver bags, double seals at both ends, and put them into the larger upright freezer in the bottom drawer at -20 f. They will, in fact, continue curing, but very slowly.
When I vacuum the air out, I stop just shy of crushing the product with a button on an older deluxe machine that interrupts the vacuum, and another button that engages a manually activated seal.
Great idea vacuum sealing and freezing. I have been so glad to have the fresh terpenes back. The jar flower was beginning to get old and brown after losing terpenes.
That sounds right from what I have read Old Piney, thanks! Brassnwood was saying its ready after a 60 day cure for improved pain relief in his experience. I minimize oxygen by packing 3 ounces/90 grams in a quart jar, very little air left in there and helps preserve them well.
Experimented with Boveda last year and left some headspace, but I feel like its best to go ahead and pack the jar with flower and use the Boveda humidity control pack without headspace, it will just take longer for it to work.
Burping in the early part of cure is good, sounds good. Once cured, then I turn into kief using dry ice for kief infused coconut oil capsules.
The stoned mice are getting hungry again, its raining, so they are tearing it up again today. Going to harvest the rest of the garden next weekend. Hope the mice back off, they have destroyed several small plants main colas, and other branches on a couple. The seeds not only attract mice, but they promote mold because the caylex automatically dies and starts to go brow and harbor mold.

Hope everyone is well!
My harvest window is pushed back by a week. Near 100’s in October… It’s been unbelievably hot over here, I’m slightly envious of the rain y’all are getting on the east coast.
Ladies are hanging in though. A fair bit of heat stress on some of the plants, others are doing well. A decent amount of yellowing, but to be expected for this time of year. Still have quite a bit of flowering left on some of these ladies. Best of luck to everyone and happy harvesting!

I forgot to include pic of this plant. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I think it was from f3 seeds I got from a neighbor that says she crossed two plants up the road from me and kept selecting the ones that didn't mold. She called it Blue Ridge Berry Bomb. But I'm not positive, the sun bleached the tag.
And it's molding.
I haven't grown many plants where I didn't top them at some point in the grow. I've always tried to keep them short so nobody can see them.
I love the Christmas tree structure. Also cool to see the "shoulder" branches have as big or bigger buds that the top.
I'm going out now to spray h202. It does kill mold and budrot, but Im not sure if it prevents it, because I've been having to spray every day. Two more days of rain to come.
And it's molding.
