I count also when I flip to 12/12 but mostly from first pistils,too...I get closer to estimated breeders time this way.If you give a good veg (5-6 weeks) she will have preflowers already ,so then, yes, after 12/12.But that's just my way,the correct is that she's ready when she's ready...With only 3 weeks veg she took 10 days + to show pistils.

Just my 2cents:

my vietnamese pheno didn't make it here at N47. When the weather turned colder and more humid she began to mold heavily. This was around week 7-8. I decided to keep her going at least another 10 days because she wasn't ready at all. In these 10 days i lost more than half of the product. The yield would have been simply huge otherwise!

Im still contemplating if it would be smart to give her another chance next year. I need my plants to start flowering around 2nd week of august...she began to do so in the 1-2 week of september. Almost a whole month too late. Are the "earlier" phenos that much early that they would make sense here? Any thoughts?

Hi Bleiweis,

Sorry to hear that your OE didn't deal well with the mold this season :(

We have had feedback from growers finishing OE around your latitude, but we recommend to grow her in southern latitudes, preferably between 25-45º, in a climate with a fresh but not very rainy late Sept/October. Some OE phenos with big fat colas can be sensible against heavy rains and winds. Most of this kind of big yielding sativa/indica hybrids show more or less this problem. Guess sativa x PCK hybrids are a safer bet for your latitude, Bangi Haze and its hybrids would be a good choice too.

Orient Express 50/50 sativa/indica pheno, less than 2 months from seed.

And a beautiful Nepal Jam x Orient Express (Vietnam Black/Jamaican) sativa pheno.

Nepal Jam x Orient Express, new hybrid

Nepal Jam x Orient Express, new hybrid

We are very satisfied with the outcome of this new hybrid,
it's our selected, early flowering and high yielding Orient Express indica pheno pollinated by the super early flowering and resinous Nepal Jam mother (reversed).

Edit: to state correctly the genetic composition of the hybrid.

I finally made up my mind what the 3 Rd strain from would be and I chose this took me over a week lol
I also went with GT and Zamaldelica I will enjoy this cold winter much better getting to do these.
I did not think I'd ever find anything from my early years.
Thank you all at ace for providing us with these wonderful strains.
I can't wait to try all that you all have to offer.
Also I don't know anyone else that takes the time to share so much information about what they do shows pride and hard work are in these beans.
Hope this new year is a great one for all

Thanks for your interest in our new Orient Express x Nepal Jam hybrid!

It's a hybrid between the Orient Express F1 China Yunnan indica pheno, pollinated by our selected purple, resinous and early flowering Nepal Jam F6 (reversed).

The hybrid is really interesting and it was the best producer among all the new early flowering hybrids we have tested past season.
Very nice blend between these 2 classic strains, with plenty of hybrid vigor, huge yield of great quality, early/moderate flowering time, finishing late September/early October.

We hope to reproduce it as soon as possible and include it in our lineup in the second half of this year or next year.

Damn! when's that nepjam express finish dubi? What can you tell us about the cross?

Hi akirabull,

I don't think it comes from us as we don't give clones of our parental plants outside our breeding circle, but i'm curious to know more about the Orient Express selection and pheno you got from them. Hope it's a good one :)
