I'm using the same recipe, make sure to mix lime before perlite, I had deficiencies early on of Mg & Ca.
Why is important to mix the lime in before the perlite?

Right now in flower we have several different strains. Some look great, others (like cheese) look Horrible. We are going to try to narrow down our strains this run to like 3 so that we don't have as many variables, but still we are not 100% familiar with them yet.
how do I know which ones want a little more or less?
So for the first 2 weeks we should still be using the veg tea right? I have read in another thread to go every other watering and then every watering with the veg mix in flower for those two weeks. Is that correct?
I venture out and read alot of the threads in the "non-beginner" parts of this forum and feal dumber and dumber the more I read!

That is just my way of doing it. I prefer to add the lime to the organic material only.
I am not saying that the way B1 states is in correct in any way. I just stated my method.

If not adding bone/blood meal, etc. then I shouldn't need to cook it right?
Any down side to adding @ 20% more perlite to LC's#2? Just watching the soil simmer in the garage and it just seems a bit lacking in perlite.
Nope but wetting it still will help everything disperse evenly. Chime in anytime Gurus...
take the soil in your hand and squeeze real hard. Then poke the soil with your finger....it should break apart with ease. If it just breaks in two pieces or looks like it is clumping together then add more perlite. If it breaks apart too easily then you need to add more OM.

Hmmm... Mine always "clumps" so far.
I have two questions though, regarding LC's Mix #2: If reusing this soil after a first grow, what would I need to add? If continuing to reuse it, should I add green sand initially, and to this first batch? If so, how much?
Also, if having pest problems, should I try introducing diatomaceous earth either in the mix or as a top dressing?
Thanks!
Also, what exactly do YOU mean by compost?
And does the powdered Maxicrop qualify as kelp meal?
