So a question for the Masters. I have some extra LC#2 with the bone, blood etc.....
How is this soil & mix for mothers?
for Mothers I mix the amendments even.......2 TBS Bone meal, 2 TBS Blood meal ad I post up for Mothers and do root trims. I also add something like Greensand for longer term release of nutrients.
I also add less perlite.
V
Nope. That's only for blood meal.
Regarding recipe 5. Will I still produce good yields with this compared to the other methods?
For veg growth…
1 capful 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion
1 capful Neptune's Harvest 0-0-1 Seaweed or Maxicrop liquid
1 gallon H2O
For early flowering…
1 tbs. Neptune’s Harvest 2-3-1 Fish/Seaweed
1 gallon H2O
For mid to late flowering…
1 tbs. Neptune’s Harvest 2-4-1 Fish
1 gallon H2O
What kind of bet?
Bonemeal is basic (not caustic) and a source of calcium. I guess enough of it could kill a plant, but not burn roots. At least, I've never burned roots with it despite overapplication at first.
Hot amendments like blood meal, manure, etc. I have burned things with.
I was answering the question about the need to let the soil mix "cook". The two week wait is to let the bone meal break down.
Burn1
lower this to Teaspoons as advised by Dr. Elaine Ingham of the Soil Food Web Inc.2 1/2 tbsp - molasses
Late veg/early bloom tea (only one or two feedings?):
6 tbsp - 50-50 mix of Budswel and Super tea guanos........? (i've heard it works great)
2 tbsp - Maxicrop kelp/seaweed extract (speed up blooming)
2 1/2 tbsp - Blackstrap molasses
Full bloom tea:
8-10 tbsp - Budswel dry guano mix
2 1/2 tbsp - Blackstrap molasses
Also, would i be wise to add liquid karma and seaweed extract to my recipe the whole time even though i plan on using molasses throughout as a source of Potassium?
It might not be caustic but an imbalance of anything will cause imbalances in other nutrients and micro nutrients......too much calcium will do what?............get my meaning?
It is not always that straight forward with things like this.
V
Agreed.
But I think when we say burn we mean hot amendments. I'm not sure what excess calcium and phosphorous will do to a plant. Burning I've done plenty of times.
I should stress that my own pics are of plants in lc mix with just little tweaks. Burn one stresses following the directions, and I can testify it is a good way to go.
I used 1 Tbs/gallon and saw nitrogen toxicity.Backed off to Dr.Ingham's teaspoon, and problem went away.
