happening baba'! hope you had a great weekend

i totally think j.winston will be playing somewhere else next season but its hard to nail down a team
i tihnk jimmyG has a lot of upside
the 9ers were pretty much one of the best teams in the nfl all last season and i cant wait to see how he does this next season
plus they get to add something new to the mix in the draft and i could see the going for one of the top wr /ol in the draft
im still not sold on brady leaving ne but we will see
as long as the step up ith the $$ i think he will be there
rivers might be asking for starters money so we will see how many teams are interested in him
he still has an arm and can play ball, plus smart people like you think hes going to indy so i figured i go along for the ride
hope you are having a great day man

Weekend went well, how about yours Pop? Does ur lab do any infectious disease testing? I imagine any lab that does covid 19 testing is working round the clock. That means unlimited overtime.

Is Brady going to sign with Tampa or the Chargers? Mariota already signed with Oakland so doubt brady will go there.
49ers traded deforest buckner to the colts for their 1st rd pick, #13 overall, so this means indy wont be able to select one of the top QB’s, maybe they’ll use a 2nd day pick on a less-hyped college QB.

Bears inexplicably signed TE jimmie graham for 2 yrs, 16M. Graham hasn’t been good in years, I know the bears are needy at TE and missed out on Austin hooper but the corpse of jimmie graham isn’t the answer.

Some big trades with WRs, Hopkins got traded to Arizona, diggs got traded to buffalo.
Cam newton has been given permission to seek a trade from the panthers, supposedly the team is interested in signing bridgewater to be their new starting QB.
Dak got franchise tagged, amari cooper got a 100M deal (60M guaranteed) from the cowboys. Dak will get 30+M next year on the tag and might seek a 40M/yr contract next offseason when the salary cap jumps up again.

wait what?!? taawmy is gone?
i was sure he would stick around for hoping for another ring in new england
so its the bucs or the chargers?
mariota is going to the raiders? have the said what they plan to do with carr or will it be a battle for the top spot?
diggs to the bills would be big and i think bufalow need more threats at the wide out position
no we dont do disease testing at the lab where i work; its a totally different field from microbiology
glad you had a great weekend and i hope you are having a great start to your week

It's Tampa for TB12. He gets to throw to Evans and godwin, who were both top 5 fantasy receivers last year until both got hurt in December. Also has Brate and OJ Howard at TE, Howard is a freak athlete but hasnt done much in the NFL so far, maybe brady can unlock his inner gronk.

Not sure why new england didnt want to pony up 30Myr for 2 years for their hero, but i guess theyre fine with jarrett stidham (threw 7 passes last season, one of which was a pick 6). Maybe they'll go after Cam or Dalton or a rookie qb in the draft.

Carr is still the starter for the raiders but mariota will push him for 1st team reps, no doubt. Guess it depends on how well they look in training camp and preseason.

Foles was traded from the jags to the bears for a 4th rd pick. Nagy worked with foles when both were on the chiefs back in 2016-17, this offseason has been about who you know as far as QBs getting deals. Rivers used to work with Reich on the chargers, bridgewater used to work with the panthers new OC on the saints.

Foles is best when he's coming off the bench in relief of the starter, so maybe if trubisky starts the season and struggles or gets hurt, foles can come in and play well as the backup. Thats my hope for this season, i guess...

all i can say is wow! tb12 in tampa bay
im a big fan of m.evans; hes a big receiver with good hands and know how to get open
while this pushes the bucks up a peg i still think the saints are the team to beat in teh south and we will see how brady transitions to his new team
/like you said ne must have other plans because 30m over 2y isnt that much considering this is tom brady
bears take foles off the jags hands; looks like this could be a win win
jax has its qb of the future in minshew pornstash and foles was a drain on cap space
/i havent gotten into the details but im sure they freed up some $$
bears could use foles as a solid backup qb and hopefully he will put a fire under tubinskies ass
so any word on ol'man rivers? how about cam
the rams are willing to shop gurley and hopefully we can get something out of a trade
either way i think they are just trying to free up some cap space and get out from under a bad deal

Yeah, mike evans played with johnny football at Texas A&M and was one of the reasons manziel did so well in college, he could just toss it up there and evans would come down with it. Brady had a down year last season but still finished with 4k yds, 24tds-8ints, so it’s not like he sucks, and having some elite weapons again could mean brady is a top 6-7 QB again.

Brees re-upped with the saints for at least one more year, as expected, except this time no bridgewater as backup, it will be taysom hill. But assuming good health brees is still elite, he doesn’t throw it as far as he used to but he damn near completes 75% of his passes, saints will be in the mix for a superbowl run again, assuming they don’t run into Minnesota during the playoffs.

Belichick is known for letting declining players leave before they get too expensive, but I never thought he’d do it to brady. But if joe montana and brett favre can get traded or peyton let go, then it can happen to the greatest of QBs. Cept in montana and manning and favre’s case, their teams had a future HOF QB in waiting (luck, young, Rodgers) and the pats have… jarrett Stidham. Does this mean Stidham is going to be a top 5 QB this upcoming season?

The jags ate an 18.5M cap hit when they traded foles but free up 15M in salary that the bears have to pay foles, so overall the hit is about 3.5M? I guess that’s how it works. In may the bears have to decide if theyre going to pick up trubisky’s 5th yr option, I expect them to decline it but they might surprise me.

Rivers is signing with the colts for 1yr 25M. Theyre already paying brissett about 15M for this season so that’s almost 40M for 2 qb’s but I think they had a bunch of cap space to play with, they also threw a big contract at deforest buckner too (21Myr, 2nd highest paid Def tackle behind aaron Donald) so I guess theyre all in it to win it for this season. Maybe find some good receivers in the draft with their 2nd rd picks and they might have a real chance at 12+ wins, assuming rivers can be efficient.

Gurley and guys like David johnson (cards) and to a lesser extent leveon bell and even zeke Elliott are examples of why it probably isn’t a good idea to give even a great RB a big contract extension. After their first 4 yrs in the league the production dips while their salary doubles or triples, not a good combination.
If only the rams had called the Texans, they could have traded gurley and a 2nd rd pick for Hopkins, and then tried to offload brandin cooks on someone.

so houstan traded nuxs?!? he is another top receiver who i really like
/+1 to who ever lucked into him
we have gone through the looking glass and rivers is a colt
i still think j.brisette is he best qb they have but i guess they like to spend money on their qb spot
buckner was a good add on defense and the afc.s is a wide open division so who knows
i like t.hill, even if its just for his trick play ability; hes a versatile athlete and fun to watch
jax traded j.ram and bouye, plus it looks y.njakoue could be looking for a trade so we will see how they end up

hope you are doing well brother!

Yeah, bill o’brien, the head coach and GM of the Texans, traded Nuk and a 4th rd pick this year to the cards for David johnson and a 2nd rd pick this year and a 4th rd pick next year. I guess he was really desperate for a running back, even though DJ hasn’t been that good the last couple of years. Supposedly BoB didn’t like Hopkins, didn’t like that he had so much influence in the locker room and didn’t like his baby mamas hanging around. Like, what?!? Who cares if he has kids by different women, so long as he pays his child support and isn’t abusing anybody it’s his own damn business. I think a lot of Texans fans are pissed at BoB and want him fired. Ever since the texans owner died he's taken control of personnel matters and he's exhibit #1 why you almost never want a coach take over GM duties as well (belichick and mike holmgren being exceptions).

Speaking of pissed off fanbases, what do all the pats fans here think of belichick dumping brady? Like, even if 30M/yr is too much for his current talent level (and that’s debatable, kirk freaking cousins is making that much) why wouldn’t you reward the GOAT with some extra dough at the end of his career? I’d understand it more if they still had garappolo, but Stidham looks like the 4th rd QB he is – probably backup material at best. Is belichick going to get Dalton, or cam, or jameis, or flacco? Draft a QB in the 1st rd, maybe trading up if necessary? What’s his plan at QB now they don’t have TB12 for the 1st time in 20 yrs?

its going to be interesting to see what the patriots do to fill their need at qb this year
there are a lot of free agents out there but how many do you think are going to come cheap compared to what brady was asking?
i think the job ends at the sidelines and you are right about nux not letting his babymamadrama get in the way of his play
b.ob'rien might have really over stepped on this one and cost his team a top receiver
we will see how dj plays but right now it looks like its more about that 2nd rnd pick

so what are you up to this weekend baba?
the mrs is very serious about the isolating at home; no one goes in or out
/we went for a night walk late the other night
to me that means sequestering in the computer room and getting high

It would be really weird if Andrew Luck came out of retirement to lead the Pats to another Super Bowl victory!

I think both Dalton and Cam are in the last year of their contracts, so if the pats traded for them they’d owe less than 20M for this upcoming season (17 for Dalton, 18 for cam). If belichick can get decent QB play next season without TB12 then you’d have to acknowledge him as the greatest coach of all time, no matter if you think he’s a cheater or not.

Bill o’brien also made questionable trades last season as well, trading jadaveon clowney to the seahawks for a 3rd rd pick and getting laremy tunsil from Miami for two 1st rd picks and a 2nd rd pick. He’s like that drunk guy at the gambling table on full tilt, making outrageous bets because he cant help himself.

I guess im much like u, just staying indoors mostly, going outside for a short drive (grocery store, drive-thru’s, etc), taking the dogs for a walk. Have u guys been doing a lot of cooking at home or have you re-acquainted yourself with the JitB menu yet? I must say, chipotle's new queso blanco, taco bell's grande burritos and wendy's new baconator are all very palatable items.

Jelly, I would think most colts fans would be very pissed if luck came out of retirement to play for the pats. Those peyton vs brady games were epic though, back in the 00’s. What’s Captain Andrew Luck been up to lately? Playing dad, doing some traveling? I imagine his calf injury must be fully healed by now, maybe if he gets back in the gym, with a few months of training he can be nfl-ready again…

you are right about b o'b making some questionable moves and we will see how they pan out over time
i think tunsil is a good addition but two first round picks is a really steep price to pay for his services
/and to think he dropped in the draft because of some crazy hack attack on his twitter or soemthing like that
i agree with you about him being like that drunk that wont listen to good sence and just goes all in
the afc.s is still wide open and i think it could be a tight division next season
we will see who the pats pick up to replace brady
we will see if they go after one of the big name free agents or look to the draft to fill the spot
fwiw i tihnk dalton would be a step back for the pats, as in way back
hes not the kind of qb they need to take over a game and the pats dont have a lot of fire power on offense so i could see him struggling to put up the yards
i feel cam would be a square peg in belickicks offense; he needs more of a wide open system to get the most out of cam
but his mobility makes him attractive to a lot of teams if he can stay healthy

its funny you mentioned take out because today was the first day we got food in a while
the mrs is taking the shelter in place order very seriously and wants to stay in as much as we can
weve been doing a lot of cooking at home for now but went out for ban- mi* sandwiches today on our way to the canyon
i there are a few really good spots close to the trail we like to walk and i like to support the smaller businesses especially now
i got the combination one with asian ham and bologna on it and the mrs likes the bbq pork ones
/ they all are super good at the place we like to go so you can really go wrong
i will ahve to try the taco bell burittos here at some point, i like thier food and have been kind of craving it for a while; which ones have you tried? do you have a favorite
hope you are having a great weekend and you and the fam are all doing well brother

* you know, those vietnamese sandwiches

Watson led the league in sacks taken in 2018 so they needed some O-line upgrades last season but paying two 1sts and a 2nd for Tunsil, who’s not even a top 5 left tackle, was universally regarded as an overpay, especially because they only got one cheap year from him on his rookie contract and now have to pay him 15-20M/yr on an extension. If they don’t pay him then he’ll sign somewhere else and they paid all those draft picks for a 1 year rental.

Dalton and cam definitely come with their own warts, if they were that great their former teams wouldn’t be shopping them around, but I have a feeling belichick would get the best out of them if either one went to NE.

I know what banh mi is, there’s some good Vietnamese restaurants in Chicago, one is called Ba Le that’s like the jimmy johns of Vietnamese sandwiches. Gotta love that crusty French bread with the meat and the Asian-style slaw and daikon radish.

The Bell has an LTO (limited time offer, good for a month or so) of $1 burritos, one with ground beef nacho cheese and crispy tortilla strips, and one with shredded chicken nacho cheese and rice. They also have a regular $1 value menu of cheese bean rice burritos and ground beef rice and frito burritos. It’s all pretty bargain basement fast food but when eaten hot and fresh it’s a good deal for the price.

If the mrs is in the healthcare field I can see why she’d be so strict on the social distancing stuff. I see online stories about drs and nurses working in hospitals with lots of covid patients, those people are working 24-48 hours straight, wearing protective gear all that time. Can’t be fun.

so you know what im talking about when i talk ba-mi! brother, those things are grinding
you are right how its a combination of the crusty bread and the pickled vegatables that really set it apart
vietnameese food is awesome and we like to get pho too, but we got to a totally different place for soup
i hear you about how tunsil isnt on of the top linemen and two firsts is a high price to pay
plus we will be renegotiating his contract and holds all the cards in some ways
/just like j.ramsey and the rams
i bet you are right and belichick could get the most out of almost any qb in the league
but i tihnk with dalton you have a kind of low ceiling and there are better choices out there
we will see what they do to fill the position, i don see them being happy with what they have and its hard to see ne fans settling for a rebuild year
i will have to make a run for the border and get me some bell!
i know all about the cheesy bean and rice buritto and it sounds like they have a few new names
i agree that the bell is best eaten fresh but their burittos heat up ok after a few drinks
the mrs isnt in the health care field,( that would be my mom) but she is very much about govs orders to avoid social gatherings
hope you had a great weekend man!

Yeah, the banh mi is an interesting sandwich, you normally dont expect french bread in a vietnamese 'wich but i guess 'Nam used to be a French colony so crusty white bread is a staple in vietnamese cuisine. And so long as the bread is right, you can pretty much put any meat/cheese/veg combo in there and it will taste good.

And pho is a solid soup, lots of noodles and beefy hot broth, cant go wrong with that, although i prefer the more normal meats, dont really care for tripe and the vietnamese meatballs can be hit or miss. I remember you saying you make your own pho soup at home, using stock made from rotisserie chicken bones? I just tend to use bouillon cubes for my stock, there's also a fish flavored powdered bouillon from the asian market that i use for more asian style soups. Theyve all got msg in them but damn if they dont taste good. Im also on the lookout for vegeta, which is a veggie soup stock/paste with msg, heard that you can make a killer barley beef soup out of it.

Yeah, rams have to extend jalen ramsey else the two 1st rd picks they traded for him will be an overpay for a one year rental. That's one of the reason they cut Gurley last week too, they needed the money for ramsey, although i think they took a big dead cap hit when they cut him. Ramsey's last year of his rookie contract is this season, he said he wont hold out and will wait for next offseason for his big extension.

Dalton has a 62% completion rate, 200 tds to 100 ints over his career, he's the definition of an ordinary QB, but on a talented team he's more than adequate. On the pats he'd have good RBs and a solid O-line, receiver might be an issue, their best WR was edelman who's 34. Maybe nkeal harry takes a leap, mohamed sanu steps up (had some injuries last year, also didnt have experience with the system being a mid season trade) and they draft or sign a WR or TE, but still u can see why brady went to the Bucs, he'll have the best receivers he's had since '08 moss/welker or '11 gronk/hernandez with evans/godwin/brate/howard.

Belichick is playing the waiting game, dalton and cam will need to be cut by their teams eventually if no trade is forthcoming, so he can sign either one without giving up draft picks or players. And if dalton or cam are FA's and can sign with any team, all Bill has to do is show them his 8 rings (2 from the giants under parcells) and ask them how badly do they want to win?

a good soup base is no joke
we like to save the broth from the insta pot and use that for soups but there is no beating a good bone broth
i will have to keep an eye out for the vageta, i like to use this stuff called better than boulion, but its loaded with salt and other bad stuff im sure

im hoping a change of scenery will help motivate ramsey and we will be willing to work with the team, but i also understand that he only has so long to play and wants to make all the $$$ while he can
cutting gurley was the best they could do i guess
it dosent seem like a lot of teams were lining up to bid on a broken down rb making all the $$$
/gurley rushes for 2000+yds/1000+receiving this season in front of empty stadiums
