I think the above has been pointlessly argued, misperceived, etc. Why can't we just refer to either the extraction process or the final product as absent of solvent? Solventless and solvent-free are synonymous in the English language..

I've gotten back into pressing hash....Nice stable rock hard finished product....sure is nice to press 5g of melty hashand get back 3.8g of rosin out...
Flavor isn't quite as nice, but the yield makes up for it

Hypothetically, if you could get $5 per gram for your trim, or press it, which would be more worthwhile? You'd still have all your own buds to sell or press.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Have a t-shirt press, put a nug between parchment, set temp between 300 and 360 (tried 300,320,340,& 360), press for between 3 and 20 seconds. I'm not getting anything. What I do see going wrong is the bud is kind of indenting into the parchment / the soft pad that is the base of the unit where the top heating element presses down on. Do I need to modify it and put a piece of aluminum or steel down as the base so it has a hard surface to press against?
I screwed down the neck basically as far as it will go so I'm applying as much pressure as the machine will allow... Not getting a single little bit of oil though! Thanks.

Take the pad off. I think there should be metal under. Pre-heat the base before you press. I don't have a tshirt press, but I think I've seen the same question somewhere in here.

Soooo I snagged this at from a place closing down. If I take off the bottom squishy looking part, am I wrong thinking I can get a titanium or aluminum heating element and rig it to the bottom, and then have myself a gnarsty awesome rosin press? Ehhhh? I tried making and HMK gun, but it broke on me every use( didnt have a good bond between hair iron plates and the pressure plates on gun), and I got disheartened by the effort and waste...but this seemed like a great opportunity so I snagged it without thinking and am now hopeful again. Anyone wanna crush that hope before it gets carried away? Thanks for all your contributions and help here, regulars!
