stick around we just got started!

I've been all over the map, been a couple days since I was on the farm. The grass is almost 2 ft tall already! Gonna be a good year it seems, I want to meet up with you this season, , I went full hermit mode last yr

Ya bro the grass is gnarly. I'm grateful my neighbors don't maintain their fence too well so their cattle make great lawnmowers on my ranch and keep that stuff fairly manageable and keep the ticks way down. Ya man I went hermit too big time especially towards end of season. We gotta link up! Was at a grow store near you recently and was surprised at the organic ammendments and stuff they had if you ever want anything locally. It's in town down by the river.... righteous bro, do your thing.

word, im popping some south fork kush too (SFV OG x Chem) only popping x5 or so, just looking for a male for pollen collection and then we'll see if a lady makes the cut...

schrews, how goes the prep work? you gonna start prepping soil soon? I saw you mentioned that you where going to try some new things this year, foliar (ca, PPD, ect..), brix readings, ect... still planing on it?

..spreading some serious knowledge for the inexperienced growers, i saw a quote on Julians mega outdoor sticky where someone was thanking him for sharing all the knowledge and how they said it was like the universe has now allowed them to go on the next level of growing knowledge, all facilitated through icmag... this place is really priceless :) .. you have a really positive attitude about it all too, keep things tight and keep working hard brother, it all gets rewarded :)

so now that last year is all said and done, what was the standout favorites?

EDIT: seriously think about the learning curve that i would have had to go through without the knowledge of this site, saved me years of failed grows im sure of it..

i'm interested to follow your transplant routine w/ your seedlings. seems like 4x4s run out of root room pretty fast & i like to recycle qt yogurt containers {vented w/ my soldering iron} first time ever, i tried solo cups this year ~pretty happy w/ that

anyway, i'm seeing those 4x4s & it looks like a lot of work ~hope you photo-document that work. i just up-potted some velvet rush from the solo cups to 1 gals

seedlings veg in the 4x4" pots indoors under t5's for about 2 weeks, then they go into 5 or 7 gal smarties in a greenhouse for about 6 weeks, then they go into the ground outside

prep work hasnt really started yet. I do plan to foliar with a few things this season, as well as monitoring brix, sap ph, etc. I'm no scientist but i've been reading a lot and am starting to get an idea of where i want to start.

standouts last year were Ancient OG, Blueberry hashplant, Sky Lotus, Snow Leopard, Dream Beaver. In that order.

Cherry Pie x Chem has great terps, i saw some samples at the emerald cup. I was thinking about going with that one but got the SFV x Chem instead because byf said they will get bigger.. Also i really like SFV

big up to BYF for bringin the quality genetics

I'm stoked on my Mendo Seeds too, the Strawberry x Skywalker seedlings are the biggest ones out of everything right now, they seem very vigorous. big ups Mendo420!

.....that is a LOT of AOG seeds heheh
i'm going to grow the biggest females outside and throw all the rest in a tent for an open-pollination orgy

Whats up with the gh? Any plans yet?

i just want to put up something super easy , doesnt have to last long. Was thinking about ordering a carport frame but i cant find what i'm looking for. Otherwise will probably just throw something up with PVC.

i need to get some plastic too, anyone have recommendations for reasonably priced greenhouse stuff?

that tutorial looks pretty intense. it would take me months to put one of those together ! ive never done a lot of those things

I think its a good reference for squaring out your plot (3,4,5 ratio) and also attaching the plastic theres some cool ideas like making pvc rollers. Stuff like "always order 1 or 2 ft / dimension extra" depending on how its attached. It may seem daunting but hoops go up in hours.

3' Rebar 1" pvc 2x4s gorilla tape a bunch of clips and a staple gun all you need for a basic hoop, maybe rope if you feel like getting tech, and coffee.

dazeys supply in garberville, im pretty sure they ship. for 40x100 it was 239 for me, but i think they had 28x100 for 140 or less? 6mil clear, i put em around my pvc hoops for deps and veg. seems to work great so far...

I'd say why bother with greenhouse plastic if it's only for a month. Home Depot sells 2 packs of 10x25 ft 3.5 mil for $20, or 100 ft rolls. They also have 6 mil. I just built a 15x16 8 ft high hoophouse and I'm throwing the 3.5 mil on it since it's only for a month.

Longevity / durability is really the only reason as its uv resistent. The HD stuff will be garbage fast. But workable. There are closer stores that deal in that material too.

Also make sure you properly acclimate your plants to light intensity. Shade cloth or multiple layers peeled back for a week.

The home depot brand should have a warning on the box that says "not for use in the sun"

Thats how bad that shit sucks...
