1 ton? As in 2000 lbs? In a non-legal state? With a bunch of little clones?

Seems legit.

i have no problem with people giving advice but yah thats just silly.

I'm a "professional" grower and I grow all from clone. Seeds are more vigorous most definitely, but I hate having to section of each and every plant during harvest. Having hundreds of different labeled totes and partial #'s. I'll grow 48 plants this year. 3 strains. 2nd, 3rd, 4th week of october pulls.
labelling and partials are a small price to pay for having great variety. i am curious and excited about each one of my seedlings. lots of new crosses in there. growing clones seems so boring and one-dimensional to me now.

some people say the best results in business are often achieved by those who are not concerned with making the most possible money but rather with making the best possible product.

Not a lot of people say this (even though they are) but I'm a stone cold cash cropper bro. I love the plant, I thankful for what its provided me and my family with. But if it was worth zero $ tmrw, I'd be onto a new profession without thinking twice.

you would have to. everyone needs money. but would you stop growing just cuz you couldnt sell it? i wouldnt because it's fun to try and grow the best and biggest plants.

if you only grow because its a high paying job, then yah you probably arent in this for the long haul. if thats the case then i wont judge you but i hope you realize that life is too short to do something you dont care about. you dont need much money to be happy , believe it or not

Did you have a especially hungry/needy plant there one year and apply a bunch of epsom salt to that container, to offset an assumed deficiency, per chance???

That would be about the only thing I could think of traditionally suggested / recommended things that would show such a huge increase in Mg but nothing else really being that different other than usage of less nitrogen by plants that didn't get as large...

shcrews, " i grow seeds cause it works for me " it certainly does . and i agree totally .

i,m defiantly a seed guy . there,s a lot of enjoyment from starting the process from seeds , finding new pheno,s and seeing variations of a certain strain .

have you ever chosen f2 over f1 ? to see a wider range of pheno,s . man theres some crazy stuff that starts popping out in the f2 range . thats were the real variety is at .

though it can be very unpredictable with such a wide range of pheno,s . but starting to see where some of the genetic make up comes from is very interesting .

as for the professional bs ,
my heads fine where its at , thats what i consider a pro. i don't consider just cause you grow a certain amount or do it for a living , that you can call yourself a pro .cause your not your a grower . ( you may be an elite grower )

the guys who have the knowledge to back up what there talking about , and can answer all your questions in regards to growing and be right about what they are saying . thats what i consider a professional .

but thats just me , i,m a grower and all i,ll ever be !! my standards for the term professional seems to be a lot higher than others . and thats fine with me .

its a good debate all the same .

I'll probably be exiting the growing scene fairly soon. Its been a long ride. I'm thankful for taking that ride. If the laws were in favor of me continuing to run a decent size farm, I'd be into it. But they're not. Recreational farming is right around the corner and they're looking to do away with any farms that aren't governed by the state and on exclusive farm/Ag zoned land. I saw this coming a mile off and new I needed to prepare for the change. Luckily, I made some other business ventures and they panned out. So yeah, I guess you could say I'm not in it for the long haul...

Schrews new to this forum and really enjoyed getting to know your techniques and ideals when it comes to outdoor lifestyles. First and for most i wanted to just thankyou for reaching out and allowing us all the insight into your garden. First question is have you heard of vital landscaping out of Nevada city and your thought s on there soil blends. secondly i wanted to understand better when you said you literally just water... I am assuming its all in the soil ready and availiable for plant up take. Look forward to following you throughout the season. Thank you for your time.

We do seed outside cause they seem more heartier and pretty fool proof when it comes to pre flowers. No need to really worrying about a seed plant doing that specially putting them out last week in May. Keep up the good work Shcrews you are a professional pro at what you do

Thanks man stick around! Never heard of vital landscaping, I have used another place close to there for my soil sourcing and mixing in the past with good results.

And yes you are right, water-only organic growing means all the necessary nutrients must be available in the soil

I haven't made any f2's because of plant limits but I think I will try this year with the ancient OG

Also with the seed, we like the old school type genes like the Afghanis, Critical Mass, Blueberry. Gonna be trying some Bubblegum this year, i haven't heard or seen any of it for at least 10 years

I don't have any farm animals atm but a few weeks ago a random chicken appeared on my property. I kinda saw it around here and there. I moved this board that was propped up against my shed today and found all these. I already cracked a few and have an omlette frying up right now. I'm sure lots of people get eggs everyday but I never have and thought it was way cool! Haha

i made a tonne of them , will be very interesting how they compare to the f1 . think the mother i used was the better out of the 4 i had . so happy with that . the father was very squat plant . so hopefully added some strength to those long branches she has :)

Oct - I just attended a CannaTalk in Santa Cruz, definitely going to have a small chicken coop at my farm..and their poop makes a good organic fertilizer!
