The Deathstar is too strong for me recreationally, even for watching a movie or something.

lmao. I know exactly what you mean. Uncomfortably fried even though your sitting there by yourself.

@Mr Awder. Im not sure about the lineage of the affy mango. Ive never even heard anyone attempt to say whats in it. A very unique plant, thats for sure.

Mr Awder, let me know how the A.Mango does in a PPK.

I wasted a lot of time with this strain. I grew it out in a 7 Gallon Smart Pot and it was awesome. Huge colas (like seriously 3' colas), fully connected.. and barely needed trim. Turned out great.

I've tried running smaller plants on tables in 2 Gal Coco, 6x6 Hugos, 3 Gal Coco and 9 times out of 10 I've had to pitch it mid bloom. Starts to go haywire and isnt even worth finishing in my opinion. It devistated me for a year, and then again a few years later because I was hard headed and continue to clone and run it thinking it was something I was doing to her.

I'd be curious to know if the PPK grows it any different. I've had bumper crops with it in EBB buckets, but even in hydro about every 2-3rd grow it'd dude out on me and get really weird. I know this is the Deathstar thread.. but keep me posted!

My Affy mango. Many years ago.

Had some weird lockout or something but nice colas when she doesn't dud out.

I have also noticed the mangoes cooperating better in hydro. Ive killed it running that girl in Cap ebb n grows. I wish more people grew it. Id like to hear more input from other growers as to why they think this plant does what it does, or what causes it. Its like all or nothing with that variety lol!
Ive heard its caused by just baout everything... Root bounding, overwatering, overfeeding, temps ect. I dont know what it is, but i can say what i have noticed..
-Its does better in hydro. Even from clone.
-Smaller plants are more prone to the "stunt" trait as i call it. (low yield)
-Bigger plants of it do better whether in hydro or soil/coco.

Maybe we need an Afghani Mango thread too! Talk about a desolate thread, that would be it.

Does anyone have this in MI and not have GG#4?

I just picked up a death star and a gorilla glue from a dispensary just yesterday.....

I expect they are the real deal...... but that remains to be seen

I was reading about the strains since I now have them.....

Im very excited about deathstar....

Oddly perhaps....maybe more than gg...

Hi burnt, I hope you got the real deal. If you have read the info this thread, you should be able to tell in early veg.

Along with leaf shape, and color, I would keep an eye out for the natural bushiness structure, and the overemphasized "jogging" between the nodes. It will also show vertical purple lines running along some of the branches. If you put a picture up, i can give you a better idea.

Good luck, I hope you didnt get burnt. Pun intended!

I haven't seen deathstar around for a while. It truly is one of the most underrated strains out there. Hell ohio is underrated as a whole in terms of cannabis. There are some extremely skilled growers here.

I cant speak for all the traits at this point......

But my cut has that zig-zag jogging you are talking about.....

I have it with about 5 other strains....and none of them display that growth characteristic.....

I live in NEOH and haven't seen the DS in quite awhile. A lot of Cali OG's going around the last couple of years. The Afghani Mango here and there. I miss the DS tho. The smell is intoxicating!!

Death star seems to be on a come back since it placed again..
I've always loved this smoke, and now have a chance to grow it out..
Anybody have some more veg shots? Pretty sure the clones we have are real, have the sativa style leaves, 7 fingers each leaf, and the stalk has that zig zag structure..but I'm always skeptical until I see finished :)

Stem rub em bro, the cuts I just picked up of her reak like my house used to when I grew her before. The smell is unmistakable, even on a stem rub

Damn bro I've never got her stacked like that, that's insane. I got golf ball sized rocks that are white with a bit of purple. I think the best she's stacked for me was the one run I didn't train or top, I found that the buds swell a lot more on her when you just let her do her thing

The DS isn't as stretchy as the glue so I'm also amazed by the stacking. The smell is amazing I can't get enough. So sweet like candy sweet tarts.lol. how long do you take her?
