Thats quite a plan for cold weather. I like the handwarmer idea. I just wonder if there is enough growing time left to justify all that effort. You must be running some long standing sativa hybrids to still be out there. I hope you get a lot of budswell for your efforts.
That last few days can be valuable grow time even though you can't see anything happening with the naked eye. I applaud your efforts to get it right.:smoker:

Thanks for the compliment's Hazrd!

It isn't the sativa in the plant that is putting off my harvest and running them into the cold months. Although I do have some Ace genetics sativa's out there atm.

I already harvested my plants that were put out early spring and up until the end of May.

Back in late June I received a bunch of good outdoor, mold and weather resistant strains from a buddy up in Maine (Getaway Mountain). So, I said what the hell and decided it is NEVER too late to plant, especially in the guerilla game.

So I started the seeds immediately and transplant from seed tray, to 1 gallon, to three gallon and finally into 10 gallon bags, while vegging them indoors under 24/7 lighting beneath a few mean 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium's, enhanced spectrum of course ;).

They had been vegging that entire time under 24 hours up until the end of September, when all my other strains were in the process of finishing up, I threw these out around first few days, first week in October. So they are just starting to flower.

Most all of them have a 50 to 65 day flowering period. So they are very large and healthy mature plants, left out to flower up until around mid December is when they should finish.

I have been through hell with this crop so I pray that they will finish out just perfectly for me.

You are correct, I have put tons of work and effort into this for it not to work out for me. Possibly could have been a big mistake, but hey, we have to do what it takes to put food on our tables and pay the bills without nagging from the government for assistance.

Lol as we speak they are currently mostly, but not all, sitting underground for the most of the day due to the bush hoggers coming back. They should be done bush hogging hopefully tomorrow evening. There is a little light getting in there and hopefully they wont go hermie on me. I carried 43 plants today in 10,20 and 30 gallon grow bags, all to this underground safe house to hide them out. Alone... You can imagine the back ache I have and how fucking heavy they were lol. Just watered them 4 days ago so they weren't exactly dry by no means.

I wont give up, that's for sure!

Hey MB that plan sounds workable and we don't get that cold till after thanksgiving anymore. Hope the bushhog is done and choppers are all out of gas. You may pull it off yet.
I have some Bangi Haze from Ace I'd like to run again but I will go dark after Dec. just too much trouble to keep my building warm enough. Bangi is supposed to be mushroom resistant and the PM was awful this year so I intend to see if the Haze works in the damp valleys next spring. Headband and diesel had it bad so they won't go back outside, PM was red and purple along with the standard white powder I've seen before. I hope you don't have much cold wet weather coming up but looks like here it is.

Here is a photo of a few of the girls I got yesterday evening. I did not spend much time there yesterday, just pulled them from underground and walked up the mountain a little ways and took a pic.

There are much more than in this photo, this is close to half of the girls. The rest are kinda spread out but these I leave in a group for now till the neighboring farm is finished with their bush hogging. I leave them there for emergency evacuation, in case they need to go underground real fast.

As you can see, some are further along than others. Today about half of those are due for a watering and feeding. After the watering and feeding I am going to spray them with Flint as I found 2 beautiful ladies yesterday infected with bud rot. I slowly and carefully moved them away from the crowd in their own secluded little area. One has small patches here and there and the other was pretty much done for. I will take care of that problem today however.

I have not used the Flint as of yet, I had it on standby in case an outbreak did occur, as a last resort. But I might as well give them all a good spraying. They do need it. I will try and get better, closer photos today while working.

Stay tuned... :tiphat:

I bet the budrot was from Caterpillars. This year was the cucle of the GYpsy Moth and the worst year on record for them. They fly to your plants, lay eggs, and when them caterpillars hatch they are half the size of an eyelash, and begin to munch away on the inside of your buds. leaving poop spots everywhere on the insides of the buds. Then they rot.
Im using cheesecloth next year for them bastards.

Man the colors on Getaway Mountain's R-2 strain is killing it! Love the acrid skunk smell and purple coming through. This strain is bad ass and is hardy as hell too.

Suppose to be a clone only strain floating around in Canada that he got a hold of and perfected in seed form. Yes folks this is a true classic old school road kill skunk and it IS the real deal for sure! I will definitely grow this one year after year, if life permits that is...

There is only ONE pheno which proves its stability and loyalty. Bag appeal on this is top notch and frost factor is heavy snow. Smell is rotten skunk with not one sweet note whatsoever! It will get deeper purple as it grows, leaves are purple as hell too!

Awesome pics, strain sounds nice and there other strains are interesting as well, would like to try it in my area 40N, southeast corner ne, northeast ks, nw mo...Missouri river area. Main obstacle for me is minimizing seeding from large vast widely spread ditchweed stands.

Many many spliffs how do I post a picture. Mountain buds told me a while back but never could figure it out if I remember right. Or any body can help me out here and I may post something

Mountainbudz that second picture of the R2 strain that you posted. Along time ago a old timer gave me some seeds and I grew them all and they were all the same except a few plants and those few plants looked exactly like that second picture you posted. I'm sure it's not the same stuff but just wanted to tell a story.. the dried buds were dark purple too well most were.. it was uncommon atleast for me to see around here

Nice work there MB Are those plastic grow bags? Damn son you moving that around? I am surprised they hold together.
Im glad to know about another company with mushroom resistant strains. Are they available anywhere else?
What other ACE gear are you using Bangi is the only one I tried she was finicky but worth it. I did her indoors with full control so I would not know if Dubi's claim of mushroom immunity is true. We may find out next season if I can work it in, still have 7 seeds left. I got one girl out of the three I popped.
I hope you stay safe and healthy out there Don't forget the famous advice from Lt. Dan "git down and shut up"

Well folks, here is an Island Afghani covered in thick ice and frost right at sun rise this morning. I took my sprayer and mixed in a bit of liquid seaweed juice and thawed them out right before the sun hit them. They all looked dead as hell, seeing your plants covered in ice wilting straight to the ground is an extremely scary sight... Literally "chillin" out in 29 degree weather!

They were froze as fuck.

However, checked on them about 15 mins ago and they look identical to the way they did before the frost ever hit them. Leaves pointing up and healthy as ever!*

She is one tough bitch!

Reading threads this year I've learned about what cannabis can take as far as cold. In my area the wet destroys the plants long before the frost. I never would have guessed plants can get frozen like that and come out of it. Awesome.

They are very hardy plants Rev...

On a survival level they can take almost anything you put in front of them. As far as surviving they are tough. The only real problem is that extreme stress as we both know might cause a nice girl to turn hermie, usually not this late into flower, but just speaking generally.

But these genetics that I am running are bred for this type of growing. Getaway puts tons and tons of work and effort into his selections and they truly are the best mold resistant and weather resistant strains that I have ever ran, that is without tons of pheno hunting and having to order seeds from different breeders and different banks. He has everything you need for outdoors. If you email him you will find that more than likely he will have way more of a selection to choose from than from just what is advertised on his site ;)... Tell him "Psychadelibud" sent ya.

Haha.. Yeah RodeHazrd I am putting everything I got into getting them to survive, weather it be through harsh cold weather, outbreaks of mold, rippers to farmers that would not hesitate in tearing down the plants or reporting them to LEO. I know at least a few will make it for sure lol. I will be trimming a few tonight actually, I think I have 4 plants to trim as we speak.

This cool weather has greatly reduced the cases of bud rot I have found as well. So I am happy for that.

Thanks for all the timely updates you provide, simply great reading! I've been lurking here about a year and have never posted until the other day in this thread due to paranoia (perhaps unwarranted) just from the fact my state is not friendly to the cause lol. Anyway Thanks again.

Well fellar's, I do believe the farmer is finished bush hogging on the property next door. Plants will be coming back out before day light in the early am. They have been underground for 4 days now, luckily I was able to keep light shining in through the front entrance or they would probably be screwed up by now.

I know one thing, I cannot wait till this years OD grow is over! The challenges are getting intense lately with the weather, the farmers, the vegetation dying off etc...

The underground location they are in as of now is supposed to be under construction right now for an upcoming grow OP that I will be running down there. It sucks that I cannot get to it due to ither factors but that is okay, because I have a separate room that I can use for vegging until for a month or two till those girls are ready to be thrown into flower and just flower them out underground I suppose.

For the indoor op I currently have GG#4, Head Banger #5, 413 Chem, Chem 91' and Corey Stawrdawg cut all in the process of rooting right now.

I also plan to be on the search for a killer old school blueberry cut to keep around as well. From seed I plan on running: Grand Daddy Purple, Paradise Nebula, Karma's Sour Jack...Future, Dr. Who, Brothers Grim C99, Apollo 11...

Then here are all the strains from various breeders I plan on running while in search of the Blueberry cut I am so in need of wanting...As follows:

Dj Short- Blueberry and True Blueberry
Peak Seeds- Blueberry
Sagarmatha- Blueberry
Exotic Genetics- Big Smooth
Exotic Genetics- Blue Steel
Snowhigh Seeds- Blueberry Blast
Mosca- Old Time Moonshine
Old World Genetics- Vanilluna (Blueberry)
Old World Genetics- F13 Throwback
Old World Genetics- Dj Shorts Blueberry
And finally.... Cannarado Genetics- Blueberry Shortcake

Yes indeed... Going to be a huge investment but that is okay! Because that one and only or maybe 2 or even 3 great Blueberry cuts would be super nice to keep around! I got hold of some old school blueberry beans way back in the day from a local old mountain man simply known as a hippie who lived on top of the mountain in a small cabin, that sold bags to the locals. He had no knowledge of where the seeds come from nor did he know the breeder. Said they come from another guy he knew out of town... Lack of technology, those old timer mountain dwellers are not on up to par on technology at all lol... But they are great people!

Anyway the seeds were extremely stable, huge yielders, excellent mold resistance and the high and smell was literally out of this World. During flower they had a floral/flowery "mixed berry" smell. After chop and drying for a few days, straight blueberry, then after about 2 or 3 weeks curing straight blueberry muffin smell... The longer it cured the sweeter it smelled..m Blueberry Muffin with straight sugar. The aroma of the burning bud smelled the same. The taste was identical to the smell, thick creamy white blueberry goodness smoke!... The high made your entire body tingle, you felt grounded with electricity pulsating up through the legs and throughout the body and everything was hilarious and euphoric... Never smoked anything much like it sense...

Sorry for the long ass post lol but man that blueberry was worth remembering and talking about!

Here is a beautiful shot of Getaway's R-2 hanging out underground yesterday! She is looking beautiful and super dense buds with hues of purple scattered throughout the sticky frosty buds!
