Idk but I'd guess it would be unlikely since they will be spread out over a good distance. I'm sure there might be some poop issues but I wouldn't think it would be a major issue.. idk though

natural bird populations on guerilla growing not so bad i saw maybe 3 fat bird poops on leafs and 1 on bud this year... there is lots of birds in forests here.. maybe they dont poop that much :D

A little bird poop is the least of your worries....

It's gonna ruin a lot less of your buds than the bugs will..

Thanks that's what I thought bud green. This has got me thinking like I have to control the whole area to be able to grow good crops lol. Like they say healthy plants are harder to infect. So my thought is maybe botrytis can be limited by making sure all the cover plants in the immediate area stay healthy and bug and disease free as well. I feel like maybe because people don't usually care about the surrounding plants maybe they don't see possible infection areas and that leads to easier infection and spread of spores? I know I would have never considered bird populations when finding a spot but now it's something I'll take into consideration. On another note I saw this thing about hawks chasing away native birds on fruit farms and it made me think. Would hawks in an area be an indicator of a large smaller bird populations? Or just that there are small animals in the area?

Yes sir it has been an amazing season for you hoypare! Loving the photos and all the hard work you guys are putting in, that is what it takes my man, dedication excels you to the finish line!

Can't believe with a crop that size that you guys are not using a commercial trimmer, I give you props for that as well. Got me a good bowl trimmer for $200.00 called the Clean Cut (m2000 series maybe?) And I would not trade it for nothing! It saves tons of time and back ache for me...

Well folks, the weather has still been manageable here in the good ole Appalachia's. We have not had a night drop below 46 degrees I do believe. Plants are healthy and doing an amazing job striving through the month of October. Yes, I am knocking on wood as I type this haha...

Did have a problem the last few days and likely the next few days to come. Mr farmer man has been bush hogging close (about 50 ft away) from the crop and has that specific area finished. Then on the other side (the steep part of the mountain) has still not been bush hogged yet, but it was 2 years ago and I have a feeling they will tackle it again this year. So I have been moving and re arranging plants off and on the past few days and believe me it is not easy work, at all.*

One thing for sure, they cannot bush hog the specific area where the plants are located BUT the land joins to the land they are bush hogging and it is very very close to where they are working. So I have my fingers crossed as most vegetation surrounding the plants is for the most part beginning to die down exposing the girls.*

If I can make it through this, then all should be good as far as people locating and spotting the crop goes. Then all I have to worry about is the weather. This was one of those heart pounding situations, as they bush hogged and made their rounds back and forth from the foot of the mountain back towards the valley, I would run down throw a plant on the wheel barrel and move it to the opposite side of the hill. I watched them work the entire day, but they never seen me*...

I hate how heavy they are though and I had just watered the plants a day and two before I had to move them in 20 to 30 gallon grow bags. Extremely heavy!

Now I am plotting a plan, where I need to move them until they are done with hill side (if they even bush hog it) to where they can get adequate sunlight until they are done and I can move them back when they are finished. The bad part is, that I have no idea when or even if they will mow it this year. It could be tomorrow and it could be in a week or two and I don't want my girls hiding in the shade for that long... ughh!!! The bitch of guerilla growing!!!

MB sorry to hear about your troubles, it can be like that sometime being a guerilla farmer. I know the troubles, so I feel your pain. Hopefully it all works out for the best. I would atleast take a few tops off each just in case someone does come across it, atleast you'd have something for all your hard work. Beats losing it all..

Thanks for the pat on the back man..

Yes, it can be very troublesome at times. I do agree. But no matter how troublesome it is or will become, I will not give up. I will always fight to my last breath and I realize and accept all of the consequences if something was to happen.

So far, I feel like I am in the clear as far as the bush hog goes...

But today, what do you know? Another damn problem... I will explain.

This particular area has a road maybe 70 ft away from my grow. There are no houses in the area, just a dead end road into the bottom of the holler.

You can definitely not "see" the grow from the road but you can definitely "smell" it in one 10 foot area, on the road, I swear and I don't know why just that one spot seems like it just vents the shit and dumps it right into the road.... Fucked up, I know.

Anyway I was out at the crop today and heard a vehicle coming down the road, which is rare, this road is rarely EVER traveled. I got down below some bushes and looked towards the road waiting on the vehicle to pass by, of course I am always dressed in full camo, head to toe. Sure enough, what did I see? A truck with a light bar on top of it. Guess who? A Fish and Wildlife officer aka "Game Warden" (and hopefully he will NOT fuck up my game).

And guess what else? His window was down and he was driving slow. However I did not see him looking towards my way or hitting his brakes. He went on down to the bottom of the mountain which really isn't too far, about a 2 minute drive from the grow. He came back by, normal speed, no brake lights lit up and the passenger window was up.

I hope to God he did not smell it, however I believe if he did, having the authority he has and the big head he carries, he would have stopped and investigated a bit. I also believe on the pass back through he would have had his passenger window down just to get another whiff of the sweet rancid skunky aroma.

But, who knows? He could call in the state police to deploy a fly over today due to the odor. Maybe the asshole had a sinus infection or the common cold and could not smell the garden.

I am getting paranoid over this but I am definitely going to let it run it's course. Too many times have I gave things up for the "could happen" instinct, just to find that the "didn't happen" was the result. But there is times when paranoia serves it's purpose and puts you on high alert to gather intelligence and plot ideas at the same time to better a bad situation and to prepare for the worse.

Let's hope "MountainBudz" does not become "PrisonBudz"... We can't be having that!

Oh shit... Here comes...

Oh shit... Here comes...

The first below freezing night we are suppose to have this coming Saturday. In mid 20's. Got to get my freeze cloth ordered ASAP! And the hand warmers.

My plan is to insulate the containers in bubble wrap and burlap. Put bamboo around the plants as a foundation to support the freeze cloth, then throw a hand warmer at the base of the plant. Then throw covers over tops of plants and seal the bottoms so minimum cold air leaks through and the hand warmers should put off enough heat to keep the girls cozy.

Let's hope this works...

Thats quite a plan for cold weather. I like the handwarmer idea. I just wonder if there is enough growing time left to justify all that effort. You must be running some long standing sativa hybrids to still be out there. I hope you get a lot of budswell for your efforts.
That last few days can be valuable grow time even though you can't see anything happening with the naked eye. I applaud your efforts to get it right.:smoker:
